  1. Looking at the more complete video something pops up.

When this case gets to court the jury will see all the video.

So these people and organizations from BLM to Antifa to looky-loo come-alongs, to Big Mama from the hood looking to loot some new underwear and a wide-screen TV are going to be gifted a new excuse to 'tear down the house' when the verdict comes out.

It's doubtful what the jury sees will justify the punishment those who are basing their decisions on the tiny edit of video the media has been letting the average person see will be demanding. The media may call them out into the streets again so they'll have more chaos to film.

    Talk about your 'second wave.'

Where was that due process for George Floyd?

Interesting question, because of what it implies.

We're taking on faith that we know everything about what happened to Floyd based on a massively edited video. And there's a background insinuation that therefore we know everything about all black on white confrontations in an arrest and it's all victim and victimizer. But if you put that in plain language do we really know that?

The YouTuber Atheism is Unstoppable makes some interesting points. Now that all the video is starting to trickle out and we start to see a more complete picture you can still want the cop who overdealt his hand and is responsible for Floyd's death to be held to account but it becomes  a little more morally ambiguous than the story in the hysterical way the media has been feeding it to you with the sliced video. Nobody would be rioting if we could have seen it all:

  3. The chemistry of the riots appeared to be morphing. On saturday it looked to be largely white marxist groups coming in from outside the city and other cities to destroy black neighborhoods. Or at least they appeared to be who was instigating the most carnage. It was like. "Hey we're your friends. Fuck the Po Lees. We're gonna burn this place where you get your groceries." Not sure when that started but that's what it looked like from the sampling of videos I watched on Saturday night.

No I said they called bullshit on Trump.

Here is what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the link but you forgot to post his bit from the WaPo article:

    Quote

In a statement provided to The Washington Post after online publication of this article, Caitlin B. Oakley, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services, confirmed that in January, HHS had 17 staff members, including 16 from the CDC, at the WHO, “working on a variety of programs, including covid-19 and Ebola.” She emphasized that the staff members were not “decision-makers.”

“Furthermore, I’d add that just because you have Americans embedded in WHO providing technical assistance does not change the information you are getting from WHO leadership,” Oakley said in an email. “We have learned now that WHO information was incorrect and relied too heavily on China.” Questioning why the WHO “did not press China harder,” she said that “the lack of transparency aided and abided by WHO leadership hampered understanding of the virus and delayed the global response.”

China “stalled for weeks” in allowing WHO experts to visit in January and February, Oakley said, “and the WHO never criticized them for the delay and even praised China for its ‘transparency.’ ”

but yes, I did also read this that followed from the Wapo opinionator masquerading as a journalist:

    Quote

Until recently, Trump has repeatedly praised China for “working really hard” on the virus, and during this same period offered thanks for “their efforts and transparency.”

“It will all work out well,” he tweeted in late January. “On behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi.”

  5. So you'd like to divert off track for awhile, would you?

I'll go off on your detour with you for a bit if you like.

First of all I am Canadian. It's in my profile. But I kind of agree with you on one aspect of our political structure. Real political Conservatives are rare and getting rarer in our Country. We do have something we call Progressive Conservatives.  More and more they're more about the P than the C. And I think that's what you're saying.

Democrats are not more right wing than even the Progressive Conservatives of Canada though. You could Cherry pick examples that might seem reasonable to you as support but I could bring up examples like AOC or Ilhan Omar to mock you back with. Nobody in the Progressive Conservative party is pushing anything like what the Dems call their "Green New Deal": which is a watermelon policy, green on the outside Red on the inside.

However I would agree with you if you wanted to say that in general the Overton window has shifted to the left over the years. It's fluid though. We don't have a right wing populist leader in Canada yet with the necessary spark like they do in other countries. Things could change even up here.

There are what they call RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) in the American Republican party and they're a lot like what we call Progressive conservatives up here.

I'd agree with you if you wanted to say the Democrat elite of America are pretty corporatist. And that's embedded.

No, the point is that Trump Administration officials working at the highest levels of the WHO called bullshit on Trump's claim that the WHO and China were/are in cahoots.  The problem you're having isn't with logic it's that something about this revelation gets your goat.

Further to the point is what should be a useful exercise in critical thinking; asking yourself how so many high ranking American officials at the WHO could have possibly missed this mythical collusion between China and the WHO?

Nobody who has their tongue up Trump's ass around here has even tried to answer that. Trump's bum is just too tasty I guess.

Well thanks for finally being specific. Now show me what you're talking about. You say there are Americans in the WHO who support the Chinese side over the American one. I'm interested. Show me what you're talking about. Give me a link to what you're claiming so we can talk specifics some more.

Are they just being diplomatic like Trump has been on occasion or have they bought into Chinese propaganda, or are they just shifty as some in the media and the opposition are. Do they find it politically or personally expedient to lie? I don't think they are supporting China's lies out of honor but if you have some evidence they are, show me.

  7. I'm having problems with the Prog logic here.

Americans were working somewhere in the WHO so the WHO couldn't be favoring China, is that the point?

There are Chinese friendly American lobbyists, Democrats and media people up and down the scale pushing Chinese propaganda. How does that make the lies true?

And WHO didn't just fall in line with Chinese lies because they were duped like everybody else was. They pushed the lie that the ChiComm virus wasn't spreading human to human without doing any investigation. They danced and cheered about what a wonderful job the ChiComms were doing when there was no evidence for it because The ChiComms wouldn't let investigators in or share pertinent information. Even reporters were evicted while the public faces at The Who were giving the ChiComms tongue baths in the media.

  8. If somebody's already posted this one, sorry about that, but it's worth knowing:

Trump announces US ‘terminating’ relationship with WHO

    Quote

President Trump announced Friday that the U.S. is "terminating" its relationship with the embattled World Health Organization (WHO) over its failure to enact reforms in the face of concerns over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and its pro-China bias.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-us-terminating-relationship-with-who

  9. Well, now you've got me confused. Are you backpedaling on this previous comment? "In light of how badly the US has handled it's outbreak." I wouldn't blame you if you were because there's no real truth to it, but can you explain to me why some people keep making it?

  10. 8 minutes ago, eyeball said:

In light of how badly the US has handled it's outbreak

I keep hearing some people say that but I'm never sure what they mean by it. It's like were supposed to take it on faith or if they keep saying it it's going to become true. Can you be more specific.  The American response compares favourably to most western  countries as far as I can tell.

  11. The problem with the blacks as victims/whites as victimizers narrative is it's a lie. I've heard it called "the big lie."

Did you want to debate stats? I'll start with these two because the first one brings up the subject of media statistical distortion.

    https://www.nationalreview.com/2016/09/police-shootings-black-white-media-narrative-population-difference/

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/5-statistics-you-need-know-about-cops-killing-aaron-bandler

If you want to go "Aha, gotcha" to me, while showing me something from the LA Times or Washington Post, we'll be discussing statistical massaging to get the numbers to fit the message.

  12. These 2 stories only share the similarity in that they were race-baited but it's probably a mistake to conflate the two. In one the guy died. In the other somebody only got fired and lost her dog. And in the latter case it wasn't the supposed victim who was victimized.

On the birdwatcher story, Amy Cooper was the dogwalker. Christian Cooper was the supposed "bird watcher" and his sister Melody was the one who gave Christian a big assist in making the story go viral.

So knowing all that I'm going to say I no more think Christian Cooper is just a "bird watcher" than I think Trayvon Martin was just a fresh faced kid out for iced tea and skittles, or Michael Brown was a gentle giant with his hands up pleading "Don't shoot.," or Ahmed Arbery was just "a jogger."

And I think if there's somebody in this story who deserves the label of a "Karen" it's more Christian than Amy.

Here's the bit they don't show you in the video:

    Quote

ME: Ma’am, dogs in the Ramble have to be on the leash at all times. The sign is right there.
HER: The dog runs are closed. He needs his exercise.
ME: All you have to do is take him to the other side of the drive, outside the Ramble, and you can let him run off leash all you want.
    HER: It’s too dangerous.
ME: Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it.
    HER: What’s that?
ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
HER: He won’t come to you.
    ME: We’ll see about that…

Christian totally provoked that situation like a total "Karen."  And understand that's Christian telling the story so he's massaging the details a bit thinking he's going to get sympathy.

And Progressives like the Cooper siblings shouldn't even be allowed to 'project' the term "Karen" on anybody else. It's always projection.

And I know the Coopers are activist progressives because they've both worked for Marvel comics. Marvel Comics was destroyed by woke politics. In fact, the insanity of its post-Stan Lee era of woke identity politics may have destroyed the comics industry.

  13. Girl, 13, is ‘beheaded by her father while she slept in Iranian honour killing’

    Quote

A 13-year-old Iranian girl has been beheaded in an honour killing by her father while she was sleeping, local media have claimed.

Romina Ashrafi was killed with a farming sickle in her family home in Hovigh, Talesh county, as a form of 'punishment', reports said.

She had planned to run away with an older man she had fallen in love with, Iran International TV said.

The teenage girl initially fled the family home with 34-year-old Bahamn Khavari after her father expressed outrage at their plans to get married.

But both of their families contacted authorities, leading security forces to conduct a five-day hunt before detaining the couple and taking Romina home.

Local media reported that although Romina told authorities she would be in danger at home and feared for her life, they handed her back as required by Islamic Republic laws.

    [cut]

Romina's father will escape the death penalty because he was Romina's 'guardian', and Islamic Penal Code means he is exempt from 'qisas', or 'retaliation in kind', Al Arabiya reported.

Sharia law says that only 'blood owners' - immediate family members - are allowed to demand execution for the murder of a relative.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8361083/Girl-13-beheaded-father-slept-Iranian-honour-killing.html

The article goes on to claim the president of Iran wants to push for harsher laws in honour killings but I suspect that's just talk. It's a theocracy that likes its Sharia law. Maybe though. Who knows. Iran is so many different kinds of wacky who knows which end is up over there.

You mean, Romney, the only Republican to vote for conviction in the impeachment hearings? That RINO. Just tell us when your side wants to take him back.

Wouldn't surprise me if that was true though. I know the Spieles convictions for voter fraud are true. Even the leftist fact checking site Snopes admits it. They tried to make excuses but ultimately they had to admit it.

Notice the difference between a memed claim and a statement of fact, though?
