It's two fat guys calling each other fat. They both need bras.

And it doesn't get things done. In both of the last 2 administrations there have been accusations of one house blocking the ability of the other and its executive branch to get things done.

Personally I think that's more justified as a Republican complaint in this administration where things like the collusion delusion, the war on the wall, and the impeachment hoax have certainly diverted and I would say blocked the current administration from getting a lot of things done they would have liked to.

And with a wink I offer another personal hypothesis about blocking. It was also a complaint of the last administration. But did anybody ever notice that the economic recovery that's sometimes claimed by Dem supporters didn't really happen until the Republicans took control of both houses? I know progressive types like to claim it was earlier but if you take their graphs apart you'll see it's up and down with more down than up until towards the end of Obama's second term when the recovery really began. Tricky graphs can use that rise upwards to smooth the rest and make it look like a a longer term steady rise. But that's not what actually happened.

So my hypothesis says that rise of recovery really started happening towards the end of the Obama regime when the Republican House and Senate were able to block a lot of fiscally restricting policies.

  2. Now as to "neglect," that would be your word not his.

I imagine it would be possible to disapprove of both of say church bells and the call to prayer. It would however be possible to see banning church bells while allowing the call to prayer as being unfair.

If that ever happens, I mean.

    I really do not know.

    I think I can help.

He's saying allowing the call to prayer is Politicians favoring one group of people over "the rest."

So the one group of people would be the Muslims. And "the rest" would be what you might call "Kafir" or unbeliever or infidel.

No need to thank me. I'm happy to help.

Reposts. Not used to the software, yet. How to you delete the stupid quotes, anyway?

    And that is true.

In fact if one checks out the stats at the link below one sees that the only stats America are # 1 in can be explained by the fact they have the highest population. (With the possible exclusion of China of course, but China lies so their stats don't matter.) India's is pretty far south. They'd still be in spring, I think. Russia's so spread out they'll take a while.

Although, there may be another exception. Even if you consider population now America may have done the most tests. Notice I said "now." Nobody needs to find me a per capita stat from April.

How do you "pay attention" to elderly and vulnerable groups? Lock them in their homes? What of people who live with the elderly? What of people over 65 that still work?

Glad you asked. I get to play 'just imagine.' This is just me and the sort of thing I'd do though, but hopefully the guys in the know could do it better.

But first off consider all the money that wouldn't be spent or lost. Would we have that now to deal with the most vulnerable? Because if we do we could turn long term care facilities into freaking hospital fortresses. No virus should get in or out and if one miracuously does there are facilities on site to deal and if it gets worse there can be special hospital wings to deal without inconveniencing other hospital patients.

Drop-in visits for elderly outside of long term care. High quality masks, gloves, safe transportation and advice. People over 65 who still work? Hmmm... Not sure. There'd still be lots of money left maybe they could get some to take time off work or they could get some job protection to go back after the pandemic.  There'd still be some working, I guess. Hopefully the Karens could socially shame them into self-isolation. Not sure about that little group. Not sure it matters.

No, Putin and Erdogan tricked Trump into pulling out and then divided the place between them.

But even if that were true (which it isn't, of course) By the time Turkey and the Russia/Iran/Syria coalition started fighting with each other over leftovers from what Trump and the YPG left after chasing ISIS out of Raqqa, Iraq and Syria were ISIS free.

Trump's campaign promise was delivered. So I don't understand where you think you've made a point. Even if your claims were true. Which they aren't, of course. Good for a chuckle though. Thanks.

There was certainly a lot of belief going on alright.  People still believe it to this day.

You should have looked it up if you didn't believe my suspicion. I know I just did.

Last week, President Donald Trump announced a travel ban of 30 days for all incoming travelers from 27 European countries. The ban does not apply to US legal permanent residents, citizens, or direct family members of citizens. If you’re returning from Europe or other highrisk areas, you will be subject to a self-quarantine of 14 days and funneled through one of the following airports:

Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS), Massachusetts, Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Illinois, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Texas, Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), Michigan, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), Hawaii, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Georgia, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, Los Angeles International Airport, (LAX), California, Miami International Airport (MIA), Florida, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), New Jersey, San Francisco International Airport (SFO), California, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Washington, Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD), Virginia.

    Now don't you feel silly?

  9. Yeah, Spain France and and the UK aren't America either.

But I guess if you're really interested we could go through their responses to the virus and see if they differed from America's.

Why, though? Are you saying they didn't differ? Show me.

I know fatality rates are worse in the countries you mentioned than America's. I imagine there's a reason. It would be interesting to decide now what worked and what didn't. Also what nations are most vulnerable to a future Coronavirus. What national policies could be changed to protect.

Personally, I think, for American and Canada if we had just directed all attention to the elderly and other vulnerable groups then let the rest of the world run as it always does with only slight modifications we would have been farther ahead.

  10. But yeah, I hear Belgium in particular has problems. Something to do with out of control immigration is what I heard.

Italy had problems because of a large vulnerable elderly population and a politically managed idiocy where you saw things like a mayor hugging Chinese immigrants on the street to show he wasn't racist, and a China backed campaign where a chinese guy was offering free hugs on a busy street corner.

Meanwhile Trump was ordering travel restrictions.

  11. Daniel Horowitz is an American writing for Americans in America.

Did I really need to explain that to you?

I think an even better question you might want to ask yourself is how much of this would apply to Canada.

Do we need to ask Canadians the question Horowitz asked of his American audience?

US President Donald Trump has sent a letter to the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) threatening to pull US funding permanently over Covid-19.

The letter outlines a 30-day deadline for the body to commit to "substantive improvements" or risk losing millions and US membership altogether.

Addressed to WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, it criticises stages of the body's response since December.

Earlier on Monday, Mr Trump called the UN's health body a "puppet of China".

  13. Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi is trying to pass a bill that offers 1200 dollars per qualifying illegal immigrants, supports amnesty and makes it easier on infected illegals entering the country to take advantage of a superior health system.

  14. Daniel Horowitz has one where he lists 6 facts he claims change everything we know about SARS-CoV-2.

    1. About a quarter of the American coronavirus deaths weren't actually caused by corona.

    2. States with longer lockdowns had worse results.

    3. Outside nursing homes, the fatality rate never warranted such action, even if it would work.

    4. Outside New York, this is barely worse than bad flu seasons

    5. Excess deaths are from the lockdowns, not the virus.

    6. Social distancing was invented by a high-school kid and politicians, not scientists.

He offers support for these 6  claims at the link.

Following which another 13000 planes bearing 1.3 million travellers, 40000 of them from China, continued travelling to the US.  What's that phrase again, oh yeah...heck-of-a-job.

Do have a link for that? There were notices and screenings starting in the beginning of January. Chinese travel restrictions and suspended entry began Jan. 31. Before that 14,000 people a day entered the United states from China.

The suspensions did not include permanent residents or their families. There were other exemptions.

So it would be interesting to know exactly what you're talking about.

To Infidel Dog, we are not trying to take over anything and absolutely reject all forms of violence. And if we could give you 10 steps on how to fix the government then we would not have had to write an entire book. And it is simply impossible to limit the answer you want to a single page because each chapter addresses a different issue and how to approach it.

OK. Start here then. You can answer this one yes or no to both questions if you like.

Do you have a plan that will create this one world global government you want, or are you just daydreaming about what a great job and your buddies could do running the world and hoping somebody cares?

  17. Speaking of Joe Biden...

    This one came out today:

    Quote

Joe Biden‘s campaign promised Monday to rip up U.S. President Donald Trump’s approvals for the Keystone XL pipeline if the former vice-president succeeds in taking over the White House next year.

    https://globalnews.ca/news/6956403/joe-biden-keystone-xl-pipeline/

And there's another reason I'd vote Trump if I could.

  18. Start with explaining how you're going to take over from sovereign countries and put them under the global government "sovereigntist" thumb then keep them under control without an army or police force. Don't give me gobbledygook about the light of your one pure truth or honest politicians. Give me 10 steps to how you're going to do it. Hell, I'll even settle for a page number to your book. But be real sure it offers what I'm requesting. If it's something else you'll see some for real 'light of pure truth' in my reply.

Then tell us why there won't be conflicts if it's all popular vote. I can see why China, India or say the Muslim alliance might not necessarily be opposed to that but why would  America jump on board with that?

To Infidel Dog, it can be "meaningless drivel" if one does not have anything to back up what they are saying. However, unlike most people who criticize the work of others without ever being productive themselves, we have done our research and can provide more than enough facts to back up what we claim.

Feel free to prove it anytime you're ready.

116 pages of drivel is still drivel.

  20. For Mohammed the call to prayer was a way of marking his territory:

    Quote

When the apostle raided a people he waited until the morning.  If he heard a call to prayer he held back; if he did not hear it he attacked.  We came to Khaybar by night, and the apostle passed the night there; and when morning came he did not hear the call to prayer, so he rode and we rode with him. (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 757)

No raids here, of course, but has that one basic purpose of the call to prayer really changed that much,  I wonder.

    How is the US 'winning'?

During the campaign Trump said he would get ISIS out of Syria and Iraq.

Now you can say he was just taking advantage of the groundwork done by Obama, or you can say Trump didn't actually do it. He just gave air support to Kurd and other ground forces, All I know is it's been a long time since a major terror attack of the sort that were becoming common during Obama's 2 terms. So I'm going to say 'thank you Donald.'

Have you ever seen the Pictionary skit from The Big Bang Theory? There's a part where Sheldon says, "Sure you got it, but only after I eliminated all the obvious answers."

That always reminds me of the desperate explanation of some who still can't believe that Trump won to the booming pre-pandemic, American economy of the Trump era. Check it out.
