A better chance of dying from medical malpractice. Imagine going to see your doctor about COVID and then dying because the doctor did the wrong thing.

Scary to think that we are nothing more than debt slaves to the system. Maybe the people supporting Bitcoin were not crazy after all.

I like the term some people are using , calling it the CCP Virus. I like it and use the term instead of COVID or whatever.

Possibly the access to more online content these days. We also see the cozy relationship between the UN/WHO and the Chinese. None of them know what Taiwan is. Even China's revised numbers are total bunk. It does not match what we see in most other places. Trudeau was waiting on the WHO to give them guidelines on how to handle this, that was a mistake and a failure.

That shows the cracks in Quebec's long term care homes. Negligence and profits seemed to be more of a factor that is contributing to deaths. Way more than this virus. I would not want to put my aging parents into one of those homes.

I am confused. So the government will save us with our own money?

Without Sanders leading the Dems, means 4 more years of Trump. It appears even the Dems do not want to be progressive.

US Intelligence knew about it in Nov of 2019. Canadian intelligence knew about it in January. Sorry I should say 'intelligence'. I am no way a smart person, but even I was paying attention to it back in January. If an idiot like me can predict this, why could not our 'smart' leaders?

The government decided to shut down the economy, not the people.

I like the idea of EVs, but even in a pandemic lockdown, where you going to drive your EV? My car has had a 1/4 tank for over 6 weeks. I must have saved 200-300 on fuel costs alone! They have not stopped producing! Months ago the Saudis and Russians wanted the price of oil to increase, but now they are simply pumping out as much as they can. Baffles the mind. Yes this has been very dangerous. This is unfortunately the case. The poor are already squeezed by an unfair system, the middle class is going to feel that hurt now.

Unemployment numbers are not looking good. That will continue, because nothing is open! No one's buying! Over 1 million Canadians applied for the CERB in a single month. All while the government throws out billions and billions to support a failing economy to bail out failing business sectors like the airlines. I wish I had your optimism! But reality is slapping me hard in the face. May have chipped a tooth, I should get it looked at, but my dentist is not seeing patients right now.

I bought a few million barrels of oil and they gave me an oil super tanker at no extra charge! My only issue is, who can I sell it too? And I don't know how to run a large ship.

The auto industries will be next. Since there is no demand for oil, there is no demand for cars and such. Plants will close, but the reason will be someone got the virus! Cargill in Canada and Tyson in the US have already closed a major meat processing and packing plant. So there is another issue, food supply. The bigger problem, is that is not just local. Every nation is feeling the effects of the virus resulting in financial chaos!

I applaud Trump for handling those reporters. Using Trumps own words against him was deplorable. Dangerous. But he pushed back, because when he was pressed on the data for February, he simply outright cancelled the month all together. That's how you lead a nation!

I don't think many parts of the economy will ever open because of this virus. You have already witnessed the destruction of the hospitality industries (travel, hotels, restaurants, specialty shops). Independant mom n pop stores will disappear. The demand for oil tanked, mind you, those sectors were already hurting before this pandemic. Basically, we can expect to get into something called 'The Greatest Depression'.
