  1. I'm actually a master of the "weave" when I can speak, but sometimes on paper all others can read is ADHD, adhd, adhd, etc..
  2. I'll read that, when I can find the time a get back to you when I know the specifics. For the rest this is a comparison between Canada and the US they have more guns and a higher homicide rate by fire arms. That's undisputable They also have a higher homicide rate in general, but I agree there are many other factors that contribute to this to simply say it's because of guns, but negating that things like stand your ground laws aren't contributing factors would also be dishonest I'm sure you'd agree I would also note that according to the New England journal of medicine the leading cause of death in children in the US is fire arm related injury. A pretty credible publication. To me all that shows more evidence supporting causation than just correlation
  3. We have already spent enough time on this and you have openly admitted that you have no interest in looking at anything that those trained in their respective disciplines and instead comfort yourself with the pontifications of the con artists at places like creation.com, Pure conjecture, there are and have been Jewish scholars going over the original Hebrew texts to fully understand what the writers meant, for thousands of years, there are university courses both in secular and religious institutions where people study Greek and Aramaic for years. But you think because you read a book or two, you can know the correct translation of the word of God and it happens to be in the in the only language you know? The hubris and complete lack of humility you have to make that kind of statement is so brazen and against the teachings of Jesus, that I don't see how you can call yourself a Christian.
  4. Ok, by what method do you discern what is or is not relevant to your brand of christianity?
  5. Disclaimer! This information comes from Wikipedia, so admittedly not the most credible source but as these numbers are readily available I am comfortable using it for this conversation. I think the only reasonable comparison is with other western democratic (I almost put quotes around democratic but thought it might undermine my point. Hahaha) countries, and when you do that it seems to support my assertion. The US leads western nations with 6.4 homicide victims 120.5 estimated civilian fire arms and 12.21 fire arm related death rate All per 100'000 inhabitants Compared to Canada with 2, 34.7 and 1.94 Or the U.K (big on stabbings) with 1.1 , just a ? but let's say a non zero number and 0.2 England and Wales was 1.2, 4.6 and "?" All the same metrics of course. Kind of a demonstrable example of my point Though I invite counter evidence or an argument as to where my logic may be flawed.
  6. With greater gun ownership comes more death by guns , but if you want to hang your hat (it's the only real point you've raised) on the freedom to get shot. Then ya , I guess you win? Personally I prefer the freedom to do things like, getting an education.and going to a movie or concert, without the fear of getting shot by someone expressing their second amendment "freedoms" and before you say that shooting random people is not in the law, I will simply mention.the stand your ground laws, which essentially let you do just that.
  7. Wait, are you saying you're understanding of how the old testament relates to Christianity is better than Christ? Because Jesus is pretty clear that the old testament is the inerrant word of God, all that "laws of the profits" and "every jot and riddle" stuff You're a blasphemer. Repent! Repent! P.S though you refuse to even look at the evidence, science has already disproven , Genesis, Exodus, tower of Babel, in fact most of the old testament. It's disproven many things in the new testament as well but scholars do tend to acknowledge the historical spirit that the authors attempted to portray when putting oral traditions to paper. P.S.S the idea that any English translation is an accurate description of the original texts is unfounded. If you want to claim any kind of true understanding you must read Hebrew, Aramaic or at least Greek.
  8. It's not forcing them to DO anything, it's stoping them from imposing their backwards morals on the medical decisions of their employees. Sorry chum, no contraceptives comes from the same book it tells you to beat your children the Bible, so in for a penny in for a pound. On top of that if you're particular brand of "christianity" can decide what health care they can offer, than every other religion should be able to decide other things for their employees, for example, if a Muslim boss decided to handle any HR issues internally according to Sharia law.. Now plead your case why only your magical sky daddy is special. See what I did there? Special pleading? admit it, pretty good right?
  9. With the understanding that it didn't contain any actual regulations and is simply describing that stuff costs more (which is not in debate), particularly when compared to other "less regulated economies" that were never mentioned, right? I also agree that it's most likely less expensive to build a house in Venezuela , they don't have winter either, much cheaper to insulate . So can you name a regulation that pertains to the rising cost of housing that infringes on our freedoms? Well other than how many guns I can own, .you haven't shown it to be false either Maybe you should look harder
  10. I understand what an insurance pool is, that's why I used an electricians union when I wanted to provide good benefits at a lower cost for me, and my employees. Again, I admit my ignorance to the particularities of the US system especially since it can vary so much from state to state. Which brings up another point, I originally made about mobility,in that you can move provinces and maintain health care, in the US some insurance companies don't operate in some states, and as I understand it even with the ACA (Obama care) they do not receive the coverage we do. What I do know is for at minimum the over 50% of Americans to whom their health care is directly tied to their employment, it is measurably easier to change ones professional station without the fear of financial ruin that may arise if you or any dependants fall gravely ill. I'm sure you're aware of the many that have been forced into bankruptcy because of treatments for things as "simple" as cancer.
  11. I'll get high either way. Hahaha
  12. That may very well be true, I'm not completely versed on the intricacies of their system, but in my understanding changing jobs and maintaining your level of health care ( doctors , hospitals, etc as where and with whom you can get treatment is based on your plan) isn't that simple and a big part of my argument included starting a business and the expense of providing quality benefits to be able to attract people at the top of their field
  13. If you let religious zealots dictate who can and can't receive the health care that they and their medical professional agree upon then you live in a theocracy and if that's what you want, you must accept Jehovah witnesses letting their children die because they don't believe in blood transfusions, polygamy, Sharia law, etc, etc, etc... Legitimate question when speaking with someone that often talks out their ass. Ya , I'd be praying to god too if I were as dishonest as you , but Mathew 7:21-23 will be your future. Well it would be if god were true but we both know she's not
  14. We've had this conversation too many times, you either ignore what I say or just deny science outright. Your own definition of faith "the belief in things unseen" explains everything or just read the verse I just wrote. You know you can actually read the Bible yourself and not just rely on what charlatans tell you I says Honest question, have you ever read the Bible cover to cover, on your own? Please answer that
  15. Nope health care is a basic human right and yes birth control is basic health care, some women use the pill for other health reasons. I believe tax free status should be reserved for those that use the money to help all people regardless of their religious or political affiliation (so not just churches) If it's true that the Obama administration tried to meddle in who any nongovernmental organization can or cannot hire, I would be 100% against that, but my guess is you're just mistaken or outright lying Could you provide the case number for this ruling?
  16. I'm certainly not arguing that the cost of housing isn't going up (like everything else) but there are many factors that cause this. You spoke of regulations that hinder freedom, therefore the burden is on you to provide a regulation that fits that criteria, not just link to an News article that says shit is more expensive So if anyone needs to look up various regulations it's you. It's your argument.
  17. Oh ya, I forgot, you only follow the rules of the Bible that fit the interpretation that other people have told to believe. Again, we do not have the same method to find truth. I use logic and reason , your Bible teaches the exact opposite. There are many examples of this, here's one Proverbs 3:5-6
  18. I don't think requiring them to provide basic health care is bullying. Ministerial exceptions? If this is in regards to the tax free status of self proclaimed churchs , I don't think any religious institution should be granted, not for profit status unless they're willing to open up the books to prove they are using their money to help everyone in the community not just their flock (yes , I'm purposely making a sheep reference) If it has to do with something else, ignore that last paragraph and please explain what ministerial exception is. Cheers
  19. Yes, newcomers should be encouraged to move to smaller towns to not overburden the resources in big cities. I didn't actually see any specific regulations in that link, more just a realization of the higher cost of construction. Ergo higher costs for those buying a house. Maybe I missed it. Could you just give me a particular, specific regulation you think is a restriction of our freedom? Cheers
  20. Stoning children and adulterers, not eating shrimp, all gods talk about what I can and cannot do with my penis. These and most of the laws of Moses are backwards and nobody in their right mind would think they should be the law of the land in a free society. You want a theocracy, move to Saudi Arabia.
  21. For the purpose of this conversation, that the backwards laws of Moses have no place in a free society
  22. Since you don't trust studies I'm not sure which half of this you believe. Hahahaha Maybe I missed it but I didn't see who the "less regulated economies" they were comparing construction costs with (did you notice) but I'd be interested in seeing the entire basket as it pertains to the "real" numbers associated with all that is encompassed in buying a house. This article also proposes solutions, so at least there are possible measures that can be taken. As far as the lack of developable land, I'm not sure that's legitimate, I think it's more a matter of people wanting the benefit of being in the city but aren't willing to pay for it. I was in Abitibi for the summer and there was lots of developable land and you could get a 2000 square foot house on an acre of land for 170'000.
  23. Honestly I thought it pretty clear, but you may have a point
