Oh brother, putting aside the fact that the sarcasm in that post was lost on you (if the praising of Harpers charisma didn't do it, the hahaha should have) Shoes are the wrong angle to come at me with a sad attempt at an insult? My shoe collection is probably worth more than your house and that's just including the ones with laces
-
He really is, basically Harper without the charisma. Though admittedly that Harper charisma is hard to match. Hahahaha

Im currently finishing my MBA part time. I can only speak for myself, but since i was taught how to use the scientific method, I was able to use logic to discern between when teachers are teaching from opinion and not fact
-
Your partisanship is showing again I have said nothing to even infer a political leaning. I simply responded to a post that said Math (possibly the only objective thing we have) was biased against conservatives. No matter who you chose to vote for that statement is not only erroneous but lacking all reason
-
I would definitely agree there is not enough course material geared towards real world situations, what im saying is aa one must learn to count before they can add, they also must be shown what the scientific method entails before using it in the aforementioned real world situations
-
I listener, and do agree that the educational system needs an overhaul, but removing teaching on how to use the scientific method should not be questioned. These are the bedrocks of logical reasoning
-
Forgive me if i don't take the word of a conspiracy theorist, highschool dropout on the merits of learning the scientific process
-
Again read my previous post I agree that things like how to budget should be taught is school, and that many will not directly use algebra, calculus etc..(though as we transition more into a knowledge economy they are becoming fewer) but, without the basic core competencies these studies provide on how to use the scientific method, it will be difficult to be a productive member of society. A small example relating to your 95% will learn the hard way, doing ones taxes requires algebra
-
As i explained in an earlier post algebra teaches order of operations, calculus is meant to introduce the mind to the scientific method, these are concepts needed in almost every facet of life So you do think math is bias? Please elaborate
-
Don't project your partisanship on me I was responding to taxme post that if we teach math in school there will be no one that votes conservative, and simply asked for clarification.I in no way took a political side Math is objective and takes no side. If you fail to understand the purpose of algebra you're to far gone to bother with

When one must resort to adhomenims about style,it just shows that they can't argue substance
-
Though we are more a peacekeeping nation I agree we shouldn't embark on any imperialist ordered wars. My first response was just a play on the latin you used at the end
-
Ok last attempt at rational conversation. I responded directly to you stating that math was inherently anti conservative, still waiting on why Continuing to go on about the mean nasty liberals( especially when ive offered zero political preference, you have no idea how i vote) multiculturalism, Trump etc...just proves you see everything through a partisan lens and are either unwilling or unable to take an objective view Again i have no interest in a bad faith partisan conversation
-
Not sure what you're trying to say, though i think thats intentional on your part, but please prove me wrong
-
The issue being debated is the comparison between the PRC and our parliamentary system. But, please explain what a "conservative rebellion", the CP , Bernier or any of the other obviously partisan "points" you made a germane to this topic. If all you're able to present is adhomenim bad faith arguments I see no need to continue this fruitless conversation
-
Again with the off topic, incoherent, partisan rant. Im advocating for math, do you consider math liberal? Is 2+2 not 4 in your suposed conservative ideology?
-
The intelligent ones at least. Hahahaha
-
Brother, where you lead I will definitely not follow

Huge worries about Québec's future
SkyHigh replied to QuebecOverCanada's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Really? You consider this a reason That's opinion, any evidence to back that claim up? Again potential loop holes have nothing to do with the validity of law. Either you agree with campaign finance laws( which disproves your original post) or you think we should be like the states and adopt our own version of citizens United. Which is it? -
The problem with our immigration system is not how many we let in, it's the point system we have in place, that attracts those with higher education to get here and have their credentials (education, work experience) not recognized. If all the doctors, engineers, etc... weren't driving taxis but using their skills, ( most likely meaning higher wages therefore paying more into the system) we'd have more money making our capacity to welcome those that didn't grow up with the same opportunities as us much easier

Is climate change, a major concern for Canadians ....
SkyHigh replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I have zero interest in participating in a bad faith, partisan conversation. If you want to have a rational, honest discussion though, I'd be glad to engage -

Essentially I agree with everything you said. If you follow the thread I think you'll understand why I brought up acid rain. I do think that we should stop relying on others to find solutions. Small anecdotal example, i owned an event production company, an industry that often has high emissions. Sensitive to that and unsatisfied with what the gov't offered, i took it apon myself to reduce that foot print with the hope of at least coming out "carbon neutral" . I found an NGO in south america where we could track where the money went. -
Ignorant? Algebra teaches you order of operations, again a necessary tool in almost every aspect of life, calculus is simply to introduce your mind to the scientific method of analysis. Without these basic skills it is much more difficult to be a productive member of society. Got to say though, if you think giving teenagers the ability to use their minds with efficiency will turn them away from whatever your concept of conservatism is, it doesn't bode well for your ideology

Well you just did, though it wasn't a good faith argument, simply an attempt to divert the conversation. Changes are happening, I grew up in Toronto with the acid rain, no more of that anymore, most pesticides are not permitted for residential use, and have been heavily regulated for commercial use. You're either looking for solutions to problems or looking for reasons not to act, you seem to be the latter -
One must crawl before they walk, if you can't master basic algebra, you lack the necessary tools to " come up with proposals to save failing companies" If you read my original post you would see I completely agreed that we should be teaching real world situations in school. You have yet to justify your statement that teaching math is anti conservative
