Don Cherry's Racist Rant on Immigrants
Cannucklehead replied to Teena's topic in Media and Broadcasting
The Canadian Multiculturalism Act affirms the policy of the Government of Canada to ensure that every Canadian receives equal treatment by the government which respects and celebrates diversity.[how?] The Act also:[9] recognizes Canada's multicultural heritage and that this heritage must be protected recognizes Aboriginal rights recognizes English and French remain the only official languages but that other languages may be used recognizes equality rights regardless of race, religion, etc. recognizes minorities' rights to enjoy their cultures. Section 3 (1) of the Act states:[10] I guess that's why so many languages are our official languages today. -

Multiculturalism, the view that cultures, races, and ethnicities, particularly those of minority groups, deserve special acknowledgement of their differences within a dominant political culture. -

I'd also like to point out that Christopher Columbus and John Cabot were both Italians working for the Spanish and the English, respectively. -

The first wave began in the late 1800s and early 1900s, with the arrival of new groups of immigrants from Eastern Europe (Russians, Polish and Ukrainians), Western Europe and Scandinavia. A second immigration boom following World War II continued to favour immigration from the British Isles, but a significant number of immigrants also arrived from Western Europe (Germany and the Netherlands) and Southern Europe (Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia and Portugal) from the 1950s to the 1970s. At the time of the 1971 Census, 28.3% of immigrants were born in the United Kingdom and 51.4% were born in another European country. Not to mention the thousands of Chineese in the 1800's. -

The Immigration Act of 1869 had provisions dealing with establishment of immigration offices, duties payable on immigrants, condition of travel and reporting requirements, duties of quarantine officers, pauper immigrants, passenger protection, and recovery of duties and penalties.[1] -
Should we bring back the death penalty?
Cannucklehead replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There would be one I could think of. In the case of Bin Laden i would have liked everyone( and i mean every single person in Canada and the u.s.) to have the chance to kick him in the groin before he was killed. -

She doesn't make an official appearance for those, instead the governor general gives them on her behalf. She does however award the Order of Merit. Only four Canadians have been appointed to the Order of Merit: the Right Honourable William Lyon Mackenzie King (1947); Colonel Dr. Wilder Penfield (1953); and the Right Honourable Lester B. Pearson (1971). Recently, on October 20, 2009, the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien was presented with the Order of Merit. -

Many forests are cleared to make way for palm oil plantations. Palm oil is the most commonly produced vegetable oil and is found in half of all supermarket products. It's cheap, versatile and can be added to both food and personal products like lipsticks and shampoo. Its popularity has spurred people to clear tropical forests to grow more palm trees. Growing the trees that produce the oil requires the leveling of native forest and the destruction of local peatlands — which doubles the harmful effect on the ecosystem. According to a report published by Zion Market Research, the global palm oil market was valued at $65.73 billion in 2015 and is expected to reach $92.84 billion in 2021. Of course there are many, many more reasons, but I found this one interesting. -

Relations between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) started in 1994.[1]Ukraine applied to begin a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) in 2008.[2][3] Plans for NATO membership were shelved by Ukraine following the 2010 presidential election in which Viktor Yanukovych, who preferred to keep the country non-aligned, was elected President. wrong again, but thanks for playing.

Not entirely true. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4903787 According to Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, the French president had written to indicate the conference was intended to be small and there was no intended slight in not inviting Canada. "We, of course, would have liked to have been invited to the meeting at Rambouillet, but we are pleased that [U.S.] President [Gerald] Ford and [British] Prime Minister [Harold] Wilson, and the Japanese and the Germans ... have pressed to have us present at Rambouillet," said Trudeau.

Canada addressed the threat posed by Communist sympathizers in a manner more moderate than in the United States. The United States wished the Canadian government would go further, asking for a purging of trade unions, but the Canadian government left the purge of trade unions to the AFL-CIO. The American officials were especially concerned about the sailors on Great Lakes freight vessels, and, in 1951, Canada added them to those already screened by its secret anti-communist screening program. The Communist Party of Canadahad not been outlawed since Section 98 was repealed by Prime Minister Mackenzie King in 1935.[1
