  1. That 60% who don't believe Martin are going to swing the election towards the CPC. Strange stuff going on, but it does fit historical trends. The Liberals get free rein till they really f*ck up. They have and now it is time for them to head to the sidelines for a little while.
  2. I don't even understand what being 'streets ahead' of somebody in intelligence and political smarts means. Guess that makes you streets ahead of me in both categories. I just checked CTVs daily poll. Yes 54% No 46% N approx. 14,000 Won't be all that much of a wrath involved. Given that 51% of the respondents to that Ipsos-Reid poll on Saturday were supporting the Liberals or NDs I would say it is a sign that one or both are losing support still... Layton isn't saying f**k all to anybody. He got screwed when he bent over for Martin in the spring - oh the tax cuts are being re-introduced sorry Jack. Jack is trying to appear relevant. Something he hasn't been in about seven months or so. He is just getting the media into a tizzy for nothing. There won't be an election before Xmas because Layton won't go through with it and Harper/Duceppe won't be fooled by him again.
  3. Wow, truly no idea. The Liberals are going to fight the next election on the basis of what Harper did as the leader of the NCC? Sounds like a winning strategy there. Is there nobody left in the party who can think of something a little more realistic? Scary, scary, scary has worked for the last time. But thanks for coming out...
  4. Harper has been saying he doesn't trust Layton since Layton screwed him around in the spring. You are right about it being a matter of wisdom for the CPC, but the wisdome is that this time the CPC won't fall for the NDs juvenile antics. If the NDs really want an election they are going to have to make the first move. Why is Buzz Hargrove getting quoted in stories on this? Isn't there somebody else a little more credible and reputable willing to support the Liberals? Ooops, guess not.
  5. Enough with the trolling. Do you actually think Harper is evil? Do the rules of the forum not apply to you?
  6. Kind of a random name drop all in all. Don't think Peter is right on that one. I *tried* searching through the Canada Elections Act to confirm, but couldn't stay awake. Take a look yourself if you want. www.elections.ca IF Peter is right then we will probably see an election over the holidays with a January trip to the ballot box. I wouldn't doubt if the five major parties agree to not campaign actively over Xmas week.
  7. The real reason why I don't agree is there is no real heir apparent. If there were he would probably be gone already. It is very possible for the CPC to hold this lead for a few weeks. But it is all up to Jacko. Harper isn't going to risk getting screwed by the NDs again. Guess we will have to see what Layton says on Monday....
  8. Nope, but that doesn't make him any less pathetic for saying it.
  9. No he isn't right about "the issues" being derailed by an election. He has had a lot of time to act and hasn't done so. This is his second broadcasted attempt at pleading for more time. Very unprofessional. Time to deal with the fact that he didn't earn a majority last time around.
  10. tml12, I am not saying that Harper is without fault. But, I don't know who that other leader could possibly be. Maybe, maybe if Lord hadn't changed his mind at the last minute (TWICE) but that is about it. Definitely not Belinda, Tony Clement or McKay. Maybe Jim Prentice? This recent poll that puts the CPC up a point nationally does put them very close to majority territory. The tie in Ontario, coupled with the Liberals concentration of votes in urban centres, gives the CPC a legitimate shot at 60 seats in Ontario. Say the party gains two seats in the west, that gives them 70 seats from that region. Say they add two seats in a Quebec breakthrough and add a seat to what they presently hold in Atlantic Canada. That leaves them with 10 seats east of Ontario and more than the Liberals won last year. If Harper wins a minority he won't face a leadership review. But that is still a big IF at this point.
  11. That pretty much sums it up right there. I do find it interesting how Belinda was there. Shouldn't Adscam be one of her files?
  12. It is really quite insulting to portray all English-Canadians as 'the same' just because of language.
  13. Yeah funny that. Imagine a leader of a lobbying group fighting against restricting the rights of lobbying groups? See if ignorant jacka** Liberals call that lying they are overplaying their hands. The Canadian people aren't as foolish as y'all think. Time for Martin to pay the price for Adscam, your feeble attempts to change the subject will not be successful.
  14. Typical arrogance and ignorance of the Liberals. See we are all missing the point. Unless you share their myopic view of the world, you aren't 'sane'.... Too bad the ban on trolling here isn't being enforced.
  15. True not all ... y'all are holding onto 28% support nationally. A great majority of Canadians think even IF Martin wasn't involved he should be held accountable for it. Buh bye Martin. Alas, he tried to avenge his father but won a mere pyrrhic victory.
  16. It is beautiful. In three short days the spin has changed from 'Martin exonerated' to 'Oh my God, they realize he was involved the entire way! What the f*ck are we gonna do?
  17. That is great news for the Conservatives. If those numbers hold it would definitely be a Conservative minority, given all the votes the Liberals would waste in Quebec. Best quote from Darrell Bricker, President of Ipsos-Reid. Mr. Bricker said.
  18. You need a base to work from though. People need to understand where there politicians are going to be coming from when they do make those difficult decisions.
  19. Wow, pretty insensitive for a Liberal. Alas, supporters of the CPC aren't as 'christian' as the ilk of ScottBrison would have you believe....
  20. Hmm, I think a number of us have posted fair critiques of the report. Why would you ever expect this board to be intelligent?
  21. The beauty of it is that everybody sees through what Gomery did. Those people who had questions as to the extent of Martin's involvement haven't been convinced he is innocent by the report... He can run for a majority but will not get it.
  22. No apologies need. I found it kinda funny. IF people are willing to give Harper a serious look then the party is looking really good this time around. Sadly, that is a very big IF.
  23. Layton really doesn't have to balls to force an election now. Not a bad thing, a Xmas election would automically be something to deflect away from the ongoing string of Liberal scandals. Postponing the election until after Gomery's final report is best for all the opposition parties...
  24. Yeah, those ads got tons of notice. They are still on the Web site if you want to take a look. Best way to look at him, Harper can't control how the media portrays him...
  25. If Harper could pull it off likely Mulroney did, doubtful but you never know, that could win the next election for him. History has a way of making everybody look better. Four months before the election in 1984 Mulroney was in worse shape than Harper is in now. A good fact for all the Harper haters out there to remember....
