  1. That depends on who you ask. Suffice it to say that the Conservatives and Bloc felt they were burned badly enough by Layton that they DO NOT trust him anymore.
  2. Don't do describe a legitimate political party as evil here dickwad. The rules are what they are. You had no problem insulting me and quoting the rules when I fairly referred to your terrible leader as Mr. Dithers. You do not have a god given right to come on this forum and blatantly disregard the rules. Just like your party doesn't have the god given right to govern this country. The sky will fall when Stephen Harper becomes Prime Minister? How convenient come from an idealogue of the only other party capable of forming national government. If you can't respect the rules of the forum just leave.
  3. But they made that clear AFTER breaking a deal with the Tories and the Bloc.
  4. Not every province agreed to the Charter. If the U.S. Federal government enacted a new Bill of Rights without the agreement of all provinces it would be much like the Canadian Bill of Rights. Take a look there is one on the books, but because it was enacted unilaterally it has NO power.
  5. Eureka, It's ignorant and beyond the rules of the forum. If poster's can't call Martin Mr. Dither's for the sake of decorum than calling Harper evil is definitely out of bounds. I, for one, definitely think Martin is a ditherer. but it simply isn't allowed.
  6. Grow up and use the right party name a**hole! Layton does what he thinks is in his best interest.
  7. If the NDs are serious they will put forth a non-confidence motion on their opposition day. That is why the Tories won't do it, they have been double-crossed by Layton too many times.
  8. wtf does *that* mean?
  9. Trudeau never realized his job was to be the Prime Minister for ALL Canadians. He never got the fact that the country existed west of Kenora. Take a look at his electoral performance for that. He went so far as to push Canada in to recession with the NEP. He score cheap political domestic points with a poisonous relationship with Reagan. He ruined the constitutional atmosphere in the country for decades by refusing to accept that Constitution Act 1982 was poorly written and should never have been passed into law. Hmmm, Mulroney had the balls to cut spending, sign the FTA & NAFTA and push through the GST. All things that are contributing to our current wealth.
  10. Of course they will. Layton is just posturing for a better deal. *Everybody* knows that. That is why Harper and Duceppe are waiting for Layton to make his move, because they know if they move first Layton will use them as leverage.
  11. Uhh, why shouldn't it be paid right now? I'm listening to Stan now, not those jokes though.
  12. Sadly, the same goes for everybody west of Kenora.
  13. We'll never find out unless you provide some!
  14. Don't hold your breath on that. Newbie won't provide any supporting information because he doesn't have any to give...
  15. Interesting idea, does anybody know if Martin can get away with this? The problem with such a move is it could add more fuel to the opposition parties fire...
  16. Call it what you will, but this is definitely bad news for the Liberals. If they stick with the scary, scary, scary rhetoric they are going to have a tough go of it.
  17. So what is the real reason there won't be an election held over the holidays? All the talk of voter backlash appears to have no basis in reality. The last minority government brought down 'pre-maturely' was Joe Clark's in 1979. There was talk of voter backlash at that time, yet both the Liberals and NDs improved their percentage of the vote in the ensuing election. Here is my guess. The NDs don't really know what they want to do. The Conservatives and Bloc feel that they would make gains with an election called soon, but do not trust Layton at all. Thus, there won't be a holiday election unless Layton makes the first move, which he won't... Anybody know how the NDs finances are looking these days?
  18. Both the balanced budgets and the job creation owed a lot to the Free Trade Agreements and the GST. Are you going to agree that both Turner and Chrétien were wrong in campaigning against both, or can you have it both ways newbie?
  19. The Liberals got 28% of the popular vote in the pounding they received in 1984. Which is exactly where they were on November 4th. Couple that with the corresponding split between the Liberals and Conservatives in Ontario and the Maritimes and it means big problems for Paul Martin. The big question is - What are the Liberals going to do now? They could keep crying scary, scary, scary or they could prevent a real vision for cleaning up govern and a solid policy agenda for the future. It is your guess, but I know what strategy my money is on ...
  20. Which speech? Or is it more Liberal arrogance one should simply know what you are talking about? Or is it you have nothing to say beside hurling insults? I think Jim Travers had it right in the Star today. The Conservatives are sitting where the Liberals were in May/June of 1993. The electorate was sick of the government in power but didn't really trust them. Pretty tough for an internet message board pal. I'm guessing you are like your idol Trudeau, all talk no balls.
  21. Ok, how about providing some support for this one. ps, shove the insults while you are at it pal.
  22. Yeah Scotto. If you are gonna be a rude at least have the balls not to post and run.
  23. Do you guys want to discuss something or is this just a Liberal love-in thread?
  24. Those are very interesting numbers. Basically nothing has changed since the last election. Gotta remember though the Liberals lost 7 points throughout the 2004 campaign while the Conservatives gained 2. Transpose those number onto this poll and you have results that mirror the poll that was released a couple of days ago. Gonna be tough for Martin to hold onto leadership...
  25. OK, pal again no need for insults. Asinine is going a little to far. Please respect the name of the party while you are at it. The GST was an incredible improvement on the MST. It doesn't unfairly punish Canadian manufacturers. Let's look at what the PCs did. FTA and NAFTA have both helped fuel the increases in the Canadian economy. The Feds had the first operating surplus in over 20 years under Mulroney. Another term and they would have ballanced. Oh that is right the Liberals campaigned on cancelling the GST in 1993. Were they actually lying at the time?
