Well we’ve seen the results of mass protests to overturn totalitarian regimes in Eastern Europe and how civil rights marches have overturned discriminatory policies in the US. My sense is that Canada has a de facto one party system right now, because anyone who opposes the violation of our Charter is cast by the PMO and state-funded media as a moronic extremist biohazard. Smart, inquisitive people are calling it out, but Trudeau has Biden and China in his corner. Trudeau doesn’t care about our constitutional protections. He has abdicated our sovereignty by putting our government policy in the hands of an international public health body. Chrétien never would’ve done this. He understood the importance of exceptionalism to protect Canadian values. The Brits would never do this either.

You don’t value constitutional protections. The price that our citizens are being forced to pay and the loss of rights that citizens are suffering under mandates is anti-Canadian. It’s sick actually. I bet most regular soldiers, police, firemen, farmers, construction workers, and most frontline workers support the protest. Who doesn’t support them? Vaccine passports are unconstitutional. Our Charter would never allow for citizens to be required to show proof of vaccination to access citizens’ rights like boarding a train or re-entering Canada.

I disagree. Medical discretion is a critical human right, as is freedom of movement and access to basic freedoms like taking a train. These rights are enshrined in our Charter and can ONLY be suspended temporarily for emergencies ONLY as much as is necessary. Vaccine passports are unconstitutional.

Only anecdotal. I don’t know anyone who supports the mandates and restrictions except my mother, but she lets my father navigate the sharks. Ignorance is bliss.

Well let’s see. Canada’s institutions are of British Parliamentary origin. Our Senate and GG/Queen can act if it’s deemed that the government is working against the people, violating their rights and freedoms. People are getting fed up with the overblown accusations of the Liberal government against middle of the road Canadians concerned for their freedoms. Unfortunately all of this talk of freedom, which should be the concern of all Canadians and Americans, is too easily turned into partisan grand-standing. I didn’t like Trump, but I now see that Biden is seriously putting American democracy at risk. Something has to give and he’ll pay dearly in the next elections. So should Trudeau.

Trudeau is setting Canada up as a country of reduced liberty where the executive can violate constitutional protections by fiat. Arbitrary, undemocratic, unconstitutional.

Biden implemented that because Canada did. Biden should scrap it and I hope pressure mounts on him to do so.

But the problem for conservatives is vote-splitting. Really the CPC needs to absorb the PPC as they absorbed the Reform Party. Then they should have a leadership contest. That’s how whole movements are discredited now. Firstly, I’d like to see who was carrying those flags. I never thought we’d see plants doing this kind of thing, but I know for fact that the thousands of protesters in Ottawa and lining highways aren’t Nazis. How ridiculous.
