So we shouldn't expect that either of them will be willing to bring everything that happened into the light in totality. It's just not going to happen.

It was revealing that the Toronto Archbishop (Cardinal) in Ontario rejected Trudeau's comments on the news today as unfair. Trudeau had said the Pope should apologize and the Catholic church should release records. The Archbishop responded that apologies have already been made at various times and by different levels of authority in the church. He said some records have already been released in different places. So who are we to believe? I have a feeling neither one are really as knowledgeable as they imply on the subject. Trudeau could not possibly be an expert on residential schools and what happened in them. He is a politician with a thousand other issues on his lap and is heavily influenced by the issue of being sure he is re-elected. The Archbishop holds the responsibility of defending and protecting the Catholic church so will be coming at it from that angle. So can we really expect either one of them to be able to contribute much to finding resolution to this issue? I don't see the RCMP as the correct organization to investigate or be involved in investigating the buried children. This should be led mainly by aboriginal people themselves with others participating as observers.

The Pope is the highest authority in the RC church and could theoretically pronounce excommunication on anyone he wishes. There is always that fear hanging over any Catholic in a powerful position who takes on the church. Seems to me it happened to Henry VIII and probably many others.

If he is sincere, he should use the tools the government has to obtain the records of residential schools to determine what happened in the former residential schools and what happened to the children that died and were buried on the grounds. No, in the Catholic run residential schools, they required conversion to Catholicism, which is not Christianity. Catholicism means acceptance and obedience to the Pope, the church and all its' dogmas and unbiblical practices. Biblical Christianity means parents love their children and treat everyone with respect. This apparently was not part of the thinking in many residential schools, although there may have been some teachers who were compassionate and caring but were working for a deeply flawed system.

About 60% of these residential schools were run by the Catholic Church. The remaining 40% were run by a couple other denominations, Anglican and Methodist and possibly United church I believe. I am not sure if the Presbyterian church ran some. I believe the non-Catholic churches have apologized for what went on in them. Yet the Pope inexplicably refuses to apologize. I can only assume he refuses because an apology could mean a big chuck of money would have to be paid for compensation out of the Vatican billions. So far it has been the federal government who has paid compensation, which means the taxpayers of Canada. It is time the Pope stepped up and contributed their share out of their billions.

One reason why many people reject the Bible and biblical truth and cling to things like the Theory of Evolution and Secular Humanism is because in their own mind this gives them the freedom to do what they want. There are no moral absolutes. One can live promiscuously or take drugs, booze, and do whatever they wish. Sexual immorality is not an issue with them because they don't think they are accountable to the God who created them. Secular humanism is really elevating man's reasoning to the level of God. That makes it an idol or false god.

It's your choice whether to ignore God's teaching in the Bible on our fallen, sinful state that leads to damnation or seek salvation through faith in his Son and his written word. China already has Canada over a barrel. This is proven by the fact China holds two Canadians hostage and the federal Liberal government was afraid to vote with Parliament to say China's treatment of the Uyghurs is a genocide. Also, China and Canada are not cooperating in any sense that would benefit Canada. You forget Canada has a tiny population compared with China which has about 1.2 billion people and is a superpower. No, China is not a "Capitalist" country in the sense of western democracies. China allowed private companies, which are not really independent private companies in the same sense as the west. The Chinese Communist Party control everything and all companies if they see a benefit to their system.
