Eco-zealots who obstruct traffic will be rapidly dragged away by police under law changes that will make it easier for officers to remove 'human roadblocks' (msn.com) This is what we need in Canada. We have seen these environmental radicals block streets and bridge for long periods of time while the police do nothing. The roads, bridges and public places belong to everyone. A fringe group of eco radicals have no right to stop the public from travelling and going to work or living their lives. Wake up Canada.

You are being totally deceptive to defend your false god of man-made climate change. The actual proposed legislation says this in part: quote Manner of promotion and prohibited elements 8 It is prohibited for a person to promote a fossil fuel or the production of a fossil fuel (a) in a manner that states or suggests that the fossil fuel, its production or its emissions are less harmful than other fossil fuels, their production or their emissions; (b) in a manner that states or suggests that a fossil fuel or the practices of a producer or of the fossil fuel industry would lead to positive outcomes in relation to the environment, the health of Canadians, reconciliation with Indigenous peoples or the Canadian or global economy; or (c) by using terms, expressions, logos, symbols or illustrations that are prohibited by the regulations. unquote So who gets to decide whether some speech promoting fossil fuels is against the law? Of course anything that says fossil fuels are good is condemned by this legislation. Any comment, advertisement, etc. will be illegal under this law. The whole thing is a complete violation of freedom of speech. Wake up Michael. You are such a naive puppet of the environmentalists and woke.

God was not created. He always existed from eternity past and will always exist. God is a spirit and is eternal. He created time and the material universe out of nothing by his words. "3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! " Psalm 8:3-8

One thing they should do is eliminate this parole business after serving only half of a sentence. Someone sentenced to 14 years like the RCMP guy who spied will probably get out in seven years less time served. This is deceptive. It fools the public into thinking sentences are harsh but actually when they get out in half the time, the sentences are far lighter than most people think. This is not a deterrent for criminals.

No, I don't think about the climate because nobody can change it. It is just a money grab. -

What affect has Canada's carbon tax had on the climate? -
I have peace with God because of what Jesus did for me. I am receiving radiation treatment daily for prostate cancer and my heart is only functioning at 50% of a normal heart due to heart damage in a heart attack. I take lots of pills. I am ready when God calls me. He died for me and shed his blood on the cross. I heard the gospel 43 years ago and asked Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior. The Bible says all who call upon the Lord shall be saved. I believe he saved me. That is good enough for me. I believe he died for me and was raised from the dead and now is seated at the right hand of God interceding for me. That is my brief testimony.

I have to admit, I am perhaps not qualified to take on a radical Papist like yourself. I am a simple believer in Jesus Christ and his word, the Holy Bible. It is between you and God to sort out what you believe. I have tried, but you seem pretty close-minded. I give you verses but you just dismiss them. I don't see much more I can do at this moment in time. Maybe later I might have something to say, but I must bow out. We are just going around in circles I think. Will let it go for now.

Pardon me. I just realized you are opposed to any other information or sources. But why do you accept cathechism or church teaching over the Bible then? You reject anything I say but claim you have sources other than the Bible that are infallible. That is seriously questionable.
-
Apostles were given the authority to teach which they did with the Holy Scriptures, which we now have. The Apostolic age ended and there are no more apostles today.

I just gave you Isaiah 8:20. If anyone is not speaking according to the word, that is, the Bible, there is no light in them. "16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: " 2 Timothy 3:16

I don't need to convince you of anything. I gave you lots of information. You can also research this subject in various sources and articles. You don't believe what I say on anything so why should I spend a huge amount of time trying to convince you. I gave you verses. Just answer one question. Where does it say in the Bible the church is the final authority or interpreter of Scripture?
-
I am not saying you should believe me over the teachings of anything. I gave you several verses to show whatever is taught or claimed about spiritual matters must be in accordance with the Bible. You mentioned John 16 which speaks about the Holy Spirit. I was just starting to look into it and remembered the warning in Revelation ch20. The last few verses of the Bible say: "18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. " Rev. 22:18 This clearly says nobody can add to what God has said in this book or take away from the words in the book. So that means the Bible was completed. Nobody can say they are speaking for God infallibly once the Bible was completed. There were no more written Biblical revelations after the Apostolic age. Some churches have people who claim they have a revelation from God such as in the charismatic movement (Penticostals for example). But they are wrong. When one tries to say they are speaking a message from God that is unbiblical and trying to add or take away from what God has already said in the Bible.

I just gave you Isaiah 8:20 which shows if it is not in scripture there is no light in them. " Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God (2 Peter 1:20-21). You either believe God's Holy Scripture or you don't. You can't have it both ways. God's word is infallible; men are not. You mentioned John 16:12-14. Give me a chance to examine that. I will get back to you.

"20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20 I will look into those verses you mentioned.
-
You keep mentioning Ignatius. He is not an apostle and is not infallible. Some early church believers were deemed heretics. The bottom line is the Bible is the final authority as taught by the Holy Spirit, not fallible men like Popes, church councils, catechisms, etc. which are all fallible. Show me in the Bible where Popes, councils, church fathers, catechisms are infallible.
-
Can you back that up with Holy Scripture?
-
Nobody is "infallible". Only God is infallible. You mentioned Jesus and the apostle John. I believe the Scriptures are infallible. I don't believe my interpretation is infallible. Is your interpretation infallible? Is Ignatius' interpretation infallible? Do you believe the Holy Scriptures are infallible? Is the Pope's interpretation infallible? Is the Catholic Church's teaching in the catechism infallible?

This is a prime example of how the BC NDP bends over backwards to cater to some minority group because they made loud complaints about a most insignificant comment about something most people have no knowledge about. She said that modern Israel was founded on a crappy piece of land, something that obviously was off the top of her head and actually not far from the truth. I heard that long ago. I heard that area was not really worked or farmed until the Israelis moved in and settled there. After they settled and worked the land it became quite a productive agricultural area. However her comment was really insignificant in the scheme of things and she did apologize for any offense. But that wasn't good enough for the extremists that were brought into Canada. Where is the immigration screening to prevent these radicals from moving here? There is no reasonableness or compromise with them. What's just as bad is the NDP bending over backwards to appease these kind of people for a few votes.

Liberal government destroyed the Crown
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The new Constitution of 1982 Charter of Rights brought a number of negative things. Freedom of the individual according to how some liberal judges on the Supreme Court interpret it is now all that matters. We ended up with medical assistance in dying with all the negative consequences that will bring. Devaluation of human life, a medical system that includes death as a tool, negative consequences for relatives of people who choose MAID, and threaten the security and lives of handicapped people, etc. Anyone who is less than the perfect specimen could become a victim of MAID. Abortion on demand, more rights for criminals such as a life sentence means parole hearings after so many years. This puts the victims families through the ringer every few years as they must attend parole hearings to defend themselves against the release of a dangerous offender. Some businesses are closing due to lax laws and constant crime against the businesses. Huge numbers of illegal migrants flooding into Canada, probably because of the Constitution. Does it really protect Canadians or give rights to the rest of world? Was the 10.5 million dollar payout to a known terrorist a result of the Constitution... perhaps. What about all the progressive nonsense and teaching gender identity in schools? Again was this a result of the Charter of Rights? Was the legalization of same-sex marriage another result of the Charter of Rights, whereby anybody can claim rights for almost anything imaginable. When are people going to be able to marry their pets? We must not forget the government adopting the U.N. UNDRIP, which now appears to be a disaster in the making. All these things are born out of the Charter idea that every individual has unlimited rights and FNs have more special rights than anyone else.
