  1. I'm not an advocate for a Flat Tax but by your logic that means the price of living in Canada is different for everyone.
  2. Yeah but most aren't talking about 22 minutes anymore. If anyone still cares about this story anymore they're discussing the story CBC released Thursday about Ford's 911 call.
  3. I thought it was Climate Change now.
  4. On the Talk show they have afterwards they acknowledged last week's episode was simply a character development episode. I guess sometimes you kind of need that. I think Dale is an interesting character, He's like your smart grandfather. But I HATE this B-story of them searching for this effing girl. I HATE IT! They need to find that girls carcass and moof on. The Zombie pinata scene with pretty interesting. You can imagine that kind of stuff happening during a zombie apocalypse.
  5. Keith Olberman is so Shitteh that MSNBC fired him.
  6. I would prefer not to make this about Right v Left and generalizations to that effect. It just starts flame wars and distracts from the concrete issues at hand.
  7. BTW regarding earlier discussions about 911 operators and my inability to find enough sources to prove that the CBC's earlier reports said that they talked to their union in response to their interaction with Ford: Christie Blatchford makes mention of it in her column today. http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2011/10/28/christie-blatchford-rob-ford-and-the-cbcs-condescending-inside-baseball/
  8. WAIT! I thought there is no video evidence of Ford's daughter being there. Wasn't he lying about that? So when evidence is provided to show that she was their and she was audibly in distressed by the situation, you don't concede that Ford was telling the truth, but you accuse him of child abuse.
  9. You guys are debating Tuesday's story. Most MSM sources are talking about the report of Ford's 911 call and Bill Blair's comments regarding it. So to accuse people that want to talk about that, as wanting to change the topic because they are losing this debate is freakin' hilarious. As of 2pm EST on Saturday, October 29 these are the top stories regarding this issue. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/police-chief-comes-to-aid-of-ford-over-911-call-controversy/article2217981/ http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1077989--ford-didn-t-use-b-word-in-911-call-police-chief-says?bn=1 http://www.newstalk1010.com/News/localnews/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10307383 http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20111028/ford-did-not-say-bitches-says-blair-111028/20111028/?hub=TorontoNewHome Not a word of Ford being a sissy for calling 911 because of a woman coming to his door. In fact the only mention of that was an editorial cartoon from the Star where he yell "Call 911!" at a Trick or Treater.
  10. That's hilarious. So the story is only what you want it to be! It's only about Ford not playing along and only about him calling 911. Everything else is distracting from the main issue. The CBC didn't insert itself into this media story at all. They are an innocent party in this event.
  11. I triple dog dare you to make that call. And don't be a pussy and do it anonymously
  12. Well what is the subject? You want the subject to be about his poor judgement in calling 911 when it seems he didn't really need to. It's beyond me why people in this thread I are still debating why he did call 911. Sure it was a spaz move. He's not going to get charged for it and if anyone thinks this incident will follow him in 3 years they're delusional. I want the discussion to be about why the CBC thought it was a good idea to go to his house in the first place and why they aired a story about a 911 call that can't be confirmed by any alternative sources. In fact the alternative is true. Most sources including the city's chief refute the CBC's claim.
  13. So you respond to Crude generalizations about the Left with Crude Generalizations about the Right. Who are these old cranky people you're referring to? Most have conceded that the 911 call was an overreaction. And most conceded that going to his home first thing in the morning was in bad taste. Even Black Dog conceded that. As I said Wednesday both sides were wrong, let's move on. How many times is the Halloween joke going to be repeated in this thread BTW? The CBC kept this story alive by reporting details they have no evidence to support. And people are believing those details without any evidence, just un-named sources. Someone is lying for sure but from every media report I've heard, even from the Star. No one's sources are agreeing with the CBC's version of the story. So unless these sources reveal themselves there's no reason Ford needs to release the tape.
  14. So you do think I made up that quote yesterday. Just pulled it out of thin air. The reason I can't find any reference to the issue now is because it's not really important anymore because the Narrative of the story has shifted to Rob Ford's denial of the CBC's claim and the police chief backing him up. I'm curious if Black Dog will back me up here. Because he initially asked me to cite the source before the link I provided changed. Assuming he read the link.
  15. Well, I'll stand by my "Stay Classy Left Wingers" take. I quoted the story and no one at the time questioned it. Do you think I just made that report up? If I was going to make information I'm would have made up far more damning quote than that. I don't know if you know how this internet news thing works but they keep updating pages as new information becomes available. Clearly when news came out that no 911 operators filed a grievance, that post was taken down. But I did find this blog that refers to the same issue I was discussing. http://www.benedictionblogson.com/2011/10/27/toronto-911-not-amused-at-mayor-rob-fords-verbal-abuse/ And Oh, this blog was also linking the same freakin' story I was. Is that Citation enough for you. Do you now believe that the initial reports included claims that the 911 operator filed a Union Grievance?
  16. If the only thing Ford did wrong was call 911 when some seem to think he didn't have to and report it was dark out when it wasn't, I think voters will get over it.
  17. I KNEW IT!!! People would call into question Bill Blair's ethics. A Chief that was appointed by one, David Miller. And a Chief that was recently trotted out by the Ford admin to make cuts he didn't think he could make. But because he had issues during the G20 he must be covering for Ford. You know Dalton McGuinty screwed the pooch during the G20 too. These guys aren't BFF's. I'm with Capricorn. Ford is not my mayor. He's certainly got a weird public persona and he's got a temper problem. I like the idea of a Conservative Mayor in Toronto but it'd be nice if he had some charisma. But the left-wing media is being reckless in their quest to ruin the man. The Star can do that because it's a private company. But the CBC get taxpayer money, this is unbecoming of our public broadcaster.
  18. You're only acknowledging facts that suit your opinion. You've ignore the fact the CBC went to press on a story without hearing the tape and reported things that have proven to be false. You're also ignoring the CBC was classless to pull the stunt it in the first place. As far as I can tell he lied about one thing. The time of day. We're parsing little iddy details of the event and blowing them out of proportion. BTW the CBC's "sources" are still secret. Here's a "source" that's not so secret now. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/10/28/rob-ford-did-not-say-bitches-police-chief-william-blair/
  19. I knew that would get one of you riled up. People here have basically called Ford a pussy for reacting the way he did and I agree it was an over reaction. But if I was receiving letters like that I might be a little jumpy if two people came to my house in the morning. Just sayin' I already cited the source about the CBC saying the 911 Opperator filing a grievance. You can see the post on page 9 of the thread. The story on the link has changed since the story has changed. Here's the quote though.
  20. Again both sides look bad. Ford said it was dark and it clearly wasn't. The Mary Walsh said they were at the bottom of the driveway. They clearly were in the driveway on his property. Also the issue of his daughter isn't a done deal. They can't be seen in the video footage the CBC released but it doesn't mean she wasn't there. They also lied about the 911 operator filing a grievance with the Union. The police said no such thing happened. Ford wants this to go away. It's already off the top stories on the Star and CBC's webiste. If you really believe he said "YOU BITCHES" to a 9-11 operator. You probably didn't vote for him or ever will. I don't know if anyone saw or heard about this. But this was the type of death threats Ford had been receiving. http://www.lfpress.com/news/canada/2011/10/27/18888311.html Stay Classy Anti-Ford Crowd.
  21. No! See that's from Quebecor, anything it says is a lie. While everything the CBC and the Star is 100% accurate. I'd like to see how this would be used against Ford in an election campaign, in 3 years. Not really a make or break for him with 3 budgets left to do.
  22. Only if Marg ERRR Mary and her camera man gets charged with trespassing.
  23. OK I'll say it, and I've said it before. He shouldn't have called 911, it was a spaz move. I said yesterday that should have been it with this story. Both sides were in the wrong, let's move on. Until I woke up this morning and the CBC released this version of the story to keep it going. Forcing the mayor to respond again. No evidence to support their claim but people who hate Rob Ford are lapping it all up. It's sort of like if called someone a pedophile in public, hard to put that toothpaste back in the tube. The CBC is the instigator not Rob Ford.
  24. You assume that. We'll never know will we.
