When they say “gun violence that is unparalleled in the world” they’re forgetting about every other factor involved in crime and quality of life. Every country in the Middle East has a lower quality of life. Murders are committed different ways. Acid and kerosene attacks are a thing that doesn’t even exist in the us. Africa is rampant with rape and machete attacks. More people have died in the Congo’s civil wars than died in WWI and II combined, and Somalia is the same. In Asia there are a couple places with a standard of living close to the US. That’s it, but if you count the occasional genocide and the tendency towards authoritarianism in the Asian equation it’s a mess. Europe is really the only place that can brag, but that won’t last long. Europe is on the downhill.

BC man deported over racist affiliations as a youth
WestCanMan posted a topic in Religion & Politics
https://globalnews.ca/news/4641677/chilliwack-anti-racism-advocate-ordered-deported-back-to-u-k-over-his-racist-past/ So this guy admits to being a skinhead when he lived in the UK but theoretically he turned into an anti-racism activist. He has been in Canada for 13 years, has kids that were born here, but he isn’t a citizen yet. Now he’s being deported because of his racist past. I’m not sure what his actual status is here because I’m not an immigration expert. I don’t know whether or not he is here through marriage, if he was honest about his past when he came here, etc. This doesn’t make much sense though, when you look at our standards for deportation here. -You can commit a terrorist act here and not have your citizenship revoked. I get that we’re comparing a citizen to someone who doesn’t have full citizenship yet, but we’re also talking about someone who committed a capital crime as an adult vs someone who may or may not have committed low-level felonies. -We have lots of people here openly speaking at hate rallies and they aren’t facing deportation either. They’re doing the same thing as adults that this guy did as a kid. -We have an admitted war criminal here who isn’t being prosecuted, and we don’t get to know what that guy’s immigrant status is either. I’m 100% ok with kicking this guy out if his former country wants him extradited to face charges for hate crimes, but if it’s just a case of finding skeletons in his closet and separating his family, I’d like that level of intolerance from our government applied right across the board. -

Is this there a mod here? Some jackass is spamming the Federal Politics site with Chinese characters. Feel free to delete this post once read. I didn’t actually post this as a reply to Argus either, I just put it in the thread reply section but it keeps showing up here. -

I think he knew the answer, just didn’t want to admit it. -
I’m not the former mr. Canada but I’m not upset to be drawing comparisons to people you don’t see eye to eye with. Not surprisingly, you guys are “unaware” of the things that you’re oblivious to. That’s the nature of the beast. Trying to understand things from a broader perspective, or to at least consider facts and opinions that don’t instantly mesh with your narrative are important and you’re both steadfastly against rational dialogue. Whenever you guys find yourselves making straw man arguments or baseless accusations, etc you should take a moment to let some cognitive dissonance set in.

If you’re not up to speed with the national discourse re: this attack then why don’t you get up to speed yourself? I’m not here to lead you by the hand. The connection between that article and the attack is obvious if you understand how humans are manipulated to commit dirty deeds. If you don’t, then I won’t enlighten you because you don’t strike me as the kind of person who should have that kind of knowledge.

Shocked to find out you’re not a CNN junkie, their rhetoric is right up your alley. There’s no political climate that’s been heating up for decades. Everything happening now is all part of a much larger cycle that you’re oblivious to. What right do you have to be offended when people misconstrue anything you say or believe? Your last reply to me was nothing but a straw man argument. If you want the respect of a decent conversation the first thing you have to do is honestly read and understand what people write, and reply properly or stay silent.

Terrorist Attack in Pittsburgh
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You made a straw man argument, congrats! It’s a big step up from your usual barrage of baseless accusations and personal attacks. -
It would be fair for me to say that this shooting is the result of (insert any baseless allegation here), because that’s the new standard for “serious discussion” in North America, thanks to CNN. Eyeball do you ever chime in when CNN says something stupid like “Trump’s anti-Semitism is to blame for this shooting”? No. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Trump isn’t an anti-Semite, but you’ll gobble up anything they say and then you’ll defend it. Who else but but the left wing would attack a pro-NRA crowd with bump stocks? This California shooting is the same thing, just without the bump stock. The hateful, fear-mongering rhetoric from CNN carries far more blame for this event than any connection that can possibly be made between Trump and Pittsburgh.

The fact that you can’t understand what this thread is about is what we’re talking about here. -
Just over a year after the terrorist attack in Vegas, another country music venue was targeted in the US. This time in California. I wonder why those kind of crowds get targeted: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/06/22/msnbcs_donny_deutsch_if_you_vote_for_trump_you_are_ripping_children_from_parents_arms.html These morons act like Trump was the first president in power when adults and children were separated at the border. Hint: if you don't want to get separated from your children, don't bring them with you when you commit crimes. Honest to god, watching CNN is like drinking stupidity and division from a firehose. People watch that stuff and go out and terrorize people in their homes, send terrorist crap through the mail, shoot people at baseball games, etc.

He gave a generic answer, not the specific condemnation which was appropriate. Do you get it? If Donald Trump commits genocide somewhere and you say "What do you think about that?" and I say "Genocide is bad and abhor all acts of genocide" but I refuse to say that Trump is a bad person, or that he committed a horrible act which cannot be forgiven, do you now understand why my comments would fall short of the mark? Would you not be expecting an answer more along the lines of "He's a war criminal and he should be treated as such?" When that girl came out with the hijab hoax Trudeau didn't give a generic answer about how bad both sides are. He specifically commented on that incident and generally commented on how bad Canadians are, and how there are too many attacks against young girls of race (as if that's a real thing). Then when it all came out that it was a hoax he didn't shame anyone, he didn't apologize, he just doubled down. So you see that Trudeau does speak specifically to some incidents, just not the ones that are actually really bad and show true forethought and malice. -

https://www.bnaibrith.ca/sheikh_calls_for_eradication_of_israelis_at_toronto_al_quds_day_rally At this year's Al Quds day rally one of these guys referenced a quote from the Koran about killing the last Jew that was hiding behind a tree. He said that time was coming. I'll try to find the exact quote. Scheer tried to get Trudeau to specifically condemn that speech and all Trudeau did was say a generic "We categorically denounce all hate.... blah blah blah". He refused to comment on the rally, the speech regarding genocide or the imam who said it. -

GH you try really hard to make links that don’t exist, and ignore the elephant in the room. Can you spell out for me how Trump is an anti-Semite? I have shown you why Trudeau and Obama are. That’s the point of this thread. Let me spell this out: when a hateful & bigoted religious leader in Canada sttod on a podium in front of a crowd and a bunch of cameras and called for genocide against Jews OUR PM NEEDED TO STAND UP AND BE AN ACTUAL LEADER!!!! He spent months chasing windmills and calling Canadians racists when he was wrong (hijab hoax for example). On the ONE DAY when there was an actual dragon to slay he was a mouse. He made Jew hatred acceptable, period. If the Pittsburgh shooter thought he was the only Jew-hater in North America, if anti-Semitic rhetoric wasn’t so prominent that you couldn’t possibly avoid it, he never would have been on this path to begin with. This is a path that was paved by Obama and Trudeau for reasons that I have almost beat to death now. If you refuse to ignore all of this then whatever. Horse + water = thirsty horse. Get this -, I’m not saying Trudeau was the sole motivation for the shooting. I never did. You tried to put words in my mouth. My actual, unedited words are still right there on P1 and there’s no mistaking their meaning. I’m still saying that Trudeau is the biggest part of the problem of anti-sematism in Canada and a leader in North America. Obama is now a leader in North America bigtime. The picture of him with Farrakhan is recruiting gold for extreme bigots. Trump’s correlation with anti-Sematism is just more CNN drivel. Chow down pal. I can’t get through to you. -

Politics in the US is ugly, no doubt about it. Partly because of Trump, and partly because the Obama government was so divisive that they set the table for a guy like Trump to win. If the USA wasn’t literally on fire for two years before the election Trump wouldn’t have had a chance imo. -

Your reading comprehension sucks. I said “the fact that hate speech against Jews in Canada and the US is legal (thanks Justa Traitor) has no doubt contributed....” (I should have said that “they made it acceptable” as well) Did you prove somewhere that all the hate speech against Jews didn’t contribute to this shooting? It’s a big deal when world leaders in virtue signalling like Obama and Trudeau support hate speech against Jews in their various ways. Trudeau by not condemning a call for genocide against them, Obama by cozying up to North America’s foremost Jew hater and never speaking out against him. Lib msm is bending over backwards to label Trump as a Jew hater and it’s an absurd notion from the get-go. It’s extremely easy and pertinent to make a solid connection between Trudeau or Obama or Bill Clinton and anti-Semitism but they don’t go there AT ALL. It should be really easy for you to understand all this, or you could try to discredit it in some way, but you’re unable to do either. Instead you devour obvious garbage that CNN throws out there and ignore credible information to the contrary. If CNN tells you that Trump hates all white people tomorrow you will gobble it up like a bulldog eating warm barf because that’s what you do. -

The Dems morphed into the party of open borders when Trump closed off immigration to the countries with ridiculously high numbers of terrorists. Clinton and Obama both talked about closing off the border, but that was when they thought it would get them votes. Now they’re trying to become the party of immigrants and minorities. The Republicans are the party of all Americans of every stripe, and people with an iq over 80 know that. -

It is about Canada in that you challenged what I said earlier about hate mongering against Jews coming primarily from the left in Canada and the US. Its a fact that Republicans and PCs neither support nor condone anti-Semitism and it’s a fact that Libs/Dems are in tight with people and groups who are openly anti-Semitic. The whole genesis of this thread was the blatant hypocrisy of lefties accusing Trump and Republicans of anti-Semitism. They hang out with anti-semites, they refuse to condemn vicious anti-Semitism, and then when there’s an attack on Jews all of a sudden they’re branding people as haters who did nothing hateful just to score points. They had their chance to stand up against actual anti-Semitism. They did nothing. They literally need to be the ones answering for their actions over the past few years. -

I got called out and everything I said was true. Thanks. And I said right from the beginning that making it acceptable was worse than just making it legal. Lots of things that are amoral are legal. Our age of consent is low. You can intentionally kill a person and eventually you get to go free. A woman can kill an unborn, healthy baby for no better reason than "she just feels like it". And now you can openly talk about committing genocide against a group of people that you don't like and our government is a-ok with that. It was illegal, now it's pretty hard to say that it is illegal, and Liberals think it's not a big deal. Got it? I don't see how anything has changed since my original statement. Was illegal.... apparently not illegal now.... and EVEN WORSE - quite acceptable according to our PM (aka the village idiot) who just happens to be masquerading as the world's leading virtue signaller. Done. -

I don't think Trump's policies are nearly as bad as his comments. For one thing, he's the biggest name-caller in the history of democracy. It's sad that someone won such a major election that way. It's just a really good thing that Hillary lost. I can't find a serious fault with any of his actual policies, but whenever he opens his mouth I cringe.
