Misrepresentation of facts and statistics in above posts: What the truth is......................... I thank God and see it as a blessing that this forum does not even closely represent Canada otherwise this country would have been as bad as Southern USA in the 60's and Rhodesia in the 70's and South Africa in the 80's!!!!!!. Though a majority membership is fair and are logical people but there are a few individuals who are hiding behind the internet to promote what they cannot otherwise do in public and also falsify statistics and hiding or distorting the truth and the facts so that incite hatred against certain population who by no choice of their own are born in certain region or have certain skin color. One claims falsely that since there will be 300,000 new immigrants this year then this will take its toll on our medcare system. Yes his wish is for you to hate newcomers as they take your nurse and doctor away. What he purposely ignores is that there are indeed MANY doctors and nurses and medcare practitioners and professionals among these 300,000. They will join our medcare system in a few months (in case of nurses and some medical professionals) or a few years (in case of doctors and specialists since they have to pass a test before practicing). I know of a family member (my own family) who arrived in 2014 and he just passed his test in Ottawa (don't worry he has white skin). He will soon start practicing and hence taking care of many tens thousands of Canadians until he retires in 30 years. I know of another real life example (my own cousin) whose immigration papers just finalized and she is an experienced nurse (don't worry her skin is very white too) and she too will take care of tens of thousands of sick Canadians over the coming years. Neither of this real life examples intend to make money here and send it home. They wish to start life here and help the sick citizens and pay taxes and become a part of their adopted country. I have been living here for decades and paid hundreds of thousands in taxes but never sent a single dollar abroad. The claim above is a lie designed to incite hatred against newcomers. It could happen but generalization to all newcomers is very wrong. Another poster cites government reports which says Chinese and middle eastern immigrants are not doing as well as Europeans and until recently he wished to ban ALL immigrants from those regions on the count that report says they are lower incomers (instead of better selectivity to bring only high income earners)!!!!. The report never said they are peasants or illiterates but claim that they are was made anyway. He also accused me of not caring for Canada because I wasn't born here (never mind that I have been living here for decades teaching citizen students and paying taxes all these years). Later he said because my posts show that I don't care about Canada because I opposed a regional ban on immigration on the basis that some from certain regions may end up having lower income than Europeans (like ALL Europeans end up having high income and all Chinese and Mid East lower income!!!!!). The same poster in paragraph 1 claimed that African immigrants are of no benefit to Canada. Well my own dentist is of African origin and my teeth are great thanks to him and so are all those black ladies and gentlemen who are taking care of citizens in different ways like driving buses, cleaning offices, teaching your children, as well as other professions like doctors and engineers but yeah to his eyes someone with a colored skin can never benefit Canada. The truth is that They want immigrants as anyone even with a peanut brain would realize that Canada needs immigrants to maintain its economic prosperity and its intact pension system. But they want European or white immigrants only. they wish to promote a WHITE only Canada. A state like South Africa decades ago. And how to do this best, is something that they cannot do in public because it will not have public support? The alternative is to do it here. Though I do agree our immigration system needs adjustments to admit the best qualified applicants and screen out the undesirable who wish to promote hate (like Muslim fanatics and Neo-Nazis alike) and a need to cut the number of immigrants so that they can be better absorbed however immigration must not be based on regional selection as proposed or white skin as is being promoted here. Unless we would like to see Canada emerge as a new South Africa in the 70's or Rhodesia which both collapsed because their ideology and what they stood for was not for 21st century. . My last words.

So you are claiming that many adults from non-European countries who cannot even read and write in their own language qualify as immigrants but Europeans don't qualify because they don't have university degrees!!!!.

Why Finland is going to collapse? You have only 50,000 Muslims out of a population of over 5 million. That is less than 1 percent. And a strong economy and one of the safest and most stable country in Europe!!!!!

This I agree. Yes we should bring more immigrants from Europe. There are many highly educated and skillful and culturally adopted to our way of life and thinking in Eastern Europe ready to move and start a life and yes their skin is white too. This is a change from all your past posts which you demanded a REGIONAL ban. You wanted a complete ban from Middle East. It appears that I may have change your mind.

Women's choice is first and foremost above everything else. Banning women from wearing hejab if she freely chooses to do so is as bad as forcing a woman to wear a hejab. If we impose our way on any woman (banning her from wearing a hejab) we are no better than those fascist fanatics who force a woman to wear a hejab. A hejab wearing police officer is no different than a hejab wearing doctor who is sworn to save lives regardless of the race or religion of that person and same for a police officer who is sworn to uphold the law. The example given about a Jewish driver or whatever being stopped by a hejab wearing police officer and hence fearing for his or her life is so primitive and childish. Is it the piece of cloth on head that makes a person or woman hateful or murderer? No it is the heart.

And you didn't read my post. By eliminating any certain region you DEPRIVE Canada of all the good immigrants from that region. So you cause harm to Canada as it would be Canada's loss.

Because there has been many immigrants from ME and China who have been successful in Canada and have contributed and are contributing very positively. It is unfair to close the door on a region completely and deprive them of better lives and deprive Canada of good immigrants. Or do you say that all immigrants from ME are low income Muslim fanatics and all Chinese immigrants are peasants??

Because Liberals were elected by the nation to govern Canada until October 2019. Selection must be made on individuals not regions regardless where they live for as long as they prove to have good prospects to be future positive contributors. It is nonsense and totally illogical and unfair to say the least to ban everyone from a certain region because statistics say that others coming from another regions statistically speaking may become more prosperous!!!! Those individuals who are culturally adopted with high values and moral standards of Canada whose majority of its population stand for equality of races regardless of skin color or national origin, gender equality, respect for human and women's rights, respect for freedom of choice and speech and democracy and also score high points on education and skills with good prospects for positive contributions to Canada and Canadians should be selected and admitted in. Our immigration system does need adjustment to be more selective as per above criteria however, it is not broken as some are trying to portray falsely to further their racist views and argue that white only or European only immigrants should be let in.

Yes I am though not by birth and mighty proud of it too. That said I wasn't around when settlers (mainly from France and British isles) came to Canada so to me it is they as I wasn't one of them neither were my ancestors. Unlike Europe (Finland in particular) Canada is the land of diversity. If you visit a Canadian city you visit the whole world because you will likely see all kind of faces ranging from pale white Northern Europeans to darker French and Latin Europeans and Latin Americans to Native Indians and Orientals to colored East Indians and west asians and colored/white Middle Eastern and dark Africans are there together with their restaurants and foods and bars and cultures living in peace and harmony and most in prosperity. CANADA is THE WHOLE WORLD thanks to it immigration policy and the tolerance and welcoming attitude of most of its population towards newcomers.

That is why protective immigrants are being interviewed to find out exactly that. May be we have to re-trained our officers. I have met Moroccans, Turkish, Lebanese Arabs, Persians, Kurdish, Palestinians Arabs ladies who look exactly like Canadian born or Europeans in looks with a tonne of makeup drinking and dancing or shopping, with skin color or modernity and culture as latin European ladies. I only realized where they are from AFTER I got to know them (some even without accent). You see them and you assume they are from Europe, Expand your horizon Argus. I think your response was clear enough that you will indeed deprive certain people simply because they are not born in Europe even if they have better education and skill sets to be better contributors to Canada's future than their European competitors. I feel that there are a few here that the only quality they are after is the "White" skin color.

My post was precisely focusing on those in middle east who are suffering from the imposed culture. I cited feminists under a religious dictatorship who are highly educated, or skillful or both with modern westernized culture (and yes there are many in middle east) but may be not Caucasian as per strict definition of a Caucasian. Would you allow them in or would you deny them because their skin may not be as white as Northern Europeans. Would you select one with higher education and skills because she was born in Europe and deny the other of equal education and skill (trapped under oppressive government or society) because she was not born in Europe??? (like it was her choice where she was born!!!!!!). The regional selection (selection based on where they live) that I think you have promoted in the past indicates that you wish immigrants from Europe only and wish to ban immigrants from everywhere else especially middle east REGARDLESS of Circumstances. YES or NO?

taxme, there are many good people highly educated, skillful, hard working individuals in the third world many in middle east having to live under oppressive self imposed regimes. Many females who are feminists and seeking freedom from the oppressive society or government they are born under without choice or family they live under. They would become great hard working citizens. Are you going to deny them the freedom (and all their positive contributions to this country over decades) and opportunity for a life simply because their skin may not be white or even if skin wise white they may not be Caucasian?? From what you are responding to my posts if true then again what I have been saying (SELECTIVITY) needs to be tighten up (selection based on education, skills, cultural adaptability, language fluency, age), rather than a selection of immigrants based on skin color as proposed by taxme. Our point system needs to be re-visited. Also I think liberals increased family classification and refugees over economic immigrants for humanitarian reasons not economic reasons so no wonder it doesn't make economic sense but they were elected by the nation with this mandate after all even though I may not agree with this policy I still voted for them for all other reasons (like being fed up with the corrupt scandalist right wing policies of former regime).
