Muslims Shot and Killed in Quebec City

No matter what this tragedy would reflect very badly on Canada and Canadians. Canada is known for its peace keeping role and Canadians are known as peace loving nation and with advanced tolerant welcoming population now the world is watching that Canada has become the only country in the world (after Israel where settlers did same many years ago) that a Canadian extremist walked in and targets individuals based on faith and mass murders. Very sad indeed. -

Where on earth you guys get your info that it was muslims shooting muslims!!!!!. Seriously!!!!!! From what I hear and read it is an extreme right wing Caucasian individual who liked” Donald Trump, French Front National leader Marine Le Pen and Mathieu Bock-Cóté, a Quebec City columnist known for his pro-nationalist and anti-multicultural views and worse of all anti-feminist (what a jerk). -
Well surely not. Who wishes to go to these countries anyways!!. No seriously it is real sad because US of A always stood for democracy and human rights at least within their borders. The three countries you named never stood for human rights in fact they have a history of human right violations as part of Warsaw pact in the past. Serbia in particular carried out genocide against Muslims not long ago. But US of A following the path of Nazi Germany and barring people based on color of passport or national origin is a shock.
-
First of all it is not a Muslim ban. It is a CITIZEN ban. It is based on the color of their passports not any religion they believe in. Many religious minorities who are persecuted in those countries are banned too. So get the facts right first and second as you conceded the ban did not include so many anti-American nationals that you listed and are hostile to US and American and who actually in the past have carried out terrorist attacks against the US civilians on American soil. It was NOT for the safety of American as Trump and his gangsters are trying to sell but rather a political move to pretend that he has uphold his campaign promise and gain support. He is not to be commended on anything except being responsible for bringing the old Nazi theories to America and Trump is a disgrace to America. many Americans are ashamed and I don't blame them.

As for seventh it is the state which is a declared enemy of the US not the nation. And again this too all comes down to politics. They survive only if they create an enemy somewhere.... Again each individual should be interviewed at the Visa center and if assessed a risk then that individual should be barred from entering US not the whole nation based on the color of their passport. Citizens of the seventh are doing quite well in the US and barring them was a mistake. I remind you and others that terrorist attacks carried out ON AMERICAN SOIL has NOT been carried out by any citizen of the seventh country but by other countries NOT in the Trump's list like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Egypt and UAE. -

In summary it is wrong to discriminate or punish any group of people based on race, religion or national origin. Especially in this the nations chosen by Trump have no say or fault in the actions of their governments and more specifically when certain nations like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt and UAE who are fiercely anti-American are not among the chosen nations, Clearly it is a political move by Trump's gangsters. This is same ideology that Hitler and his gang believed in and America helped to defeat them and those Americans who died in the World War II or fought in it are turning in their graves to see this day in America. Trump is following Hitler's path and almost a century later when the world is much more civilized compared to 1930's. Americans may not realize it now (though many do) but they will later. Some control is needed but individuals regardless of national origin should be assessed and judged individually at the US visa centers or embassies based on their individual beliefs not the color of their passport or the color of their skin. Trump is stupid and whoever supports him blindly is also stupid and blinded by hate. -

I wouldn't go that far. There are only a few regimes who grossly violate human rights. They Take away rights from half their population (women) and torture, rape and murder their own citizens for opposing their oppressive rule. Torture students, imprison their activists, house arrest the opposition, murder their supporters, jail academia, students, ban unions and jail and torture their own people all in the name of national security whereas in really they are only protecting their own asses a little longer. -

Or some regimes who criticize the US and the West for its human rights violations (criticizing Canada for example for treatment of its natives) while they themselves torture and rape and murder their own citizens who may be slightly critical of their behavior. I guess there is no limit to shame and hypocrisy. -

Canada trades with the US but has never been involves directly in those or other atrocities. It was US government and the CIA who did all these and they may wish to call it democracy but they managed well to keep it a secret from American people as overwhelming majority were not aware of all these at all in th e80's and 90's. -

And what exactly is the reason. America's records on staging military coups overthrowing democratic governments (Iran, Chile as two examples) and installing their own corrupt dictator, selling arms and torture instruments to most oppressive regimes, war crimes in south east asia, supporting military dictatorships and keeping them in power to suck the blood of their people, Being allied to most stinky regimes like those of Saudi Arabia.....and the list goes on. -

Really? I had no idea. I read a lot of articles saying otherwise but they may have been before last night. -

BLOOD MONEY. Dealing with stinky regimes mostly in middle east and worse what Russians and Chinese do (selling arms and torture instruments what USA used to do) is wrong. Those who support it as modern day real vampires not just the ones in the movies. -

So dollars is all you see and the hell with human rights violations and the fact that we deal with a stinky regime. It shows your nature and yes I can see you don't care as long as your pocket is full it is all right to you even though it is blood money good for you vampire. And now the US people has no right of entry to Iran either. -

I am not sure where you got this from!!! Which government? The citizens or former citizens of those 7 countries cannot enter the US regardless of their other citizenship, Canadian or other. -

Canadian passport holders cannot get into US if they used to hold citizenship of those seven countries. kimmy was saying that Mika Zibanejad cannot get into US because the player happened to be born in Iran. -

It shows the nature of your political view and how corrupt that is. Saudi Arabia and its government has the most stinky of all regimes in the world. The way they treat their citizens and their women in particular (no right to drive even) stinks and so is their Wahhabi faith (whatever the hell it is). Just because they are allies of the US (they have sold off their country and their nation for the thrown) doesn't make their stinky actions right and btw most of those 2001 terrorist attackers were Saudis and Saudi people are the worse anti-Americans and they were not banned. The Iranian people have no say in their government policies. They have no right to choose change and if they ask for it they end up in prison or dead. If you don't understand that then you don't understand anything at all. -

It is not important at all. In fact I understand the political motive for that. He gains plenty of votes when in the aftermath of the attack on US citizens on US soil (I think by Pakistani citizens) he announced that he will ban muslims until he finds out what the hell is going on. I am just trying to say that it was politically motivated and not really for safety reasons of American citizens. And I understand that Israel is geographically located in middle east but you don't understand that they mostly came from Europe they are not middle eastern and certainly not muslims. -

Again another solid proof how uninformed you are as related to the subject at hand. A few thousand or few tens of thousands bused from remote villages and paid by government (otherwise they starve as this is their only source of income) brought to cities to chant all these now represent the 80 million Iranian people!!!!!!!!!!!!!. -

With every comment and every word you prove how uninformed and uneducated (related to subject under discussion) you are. The governments are sponsoring those acts not the people and I have clearly indicated that unlike US they are two separate entities. And if the attacks are against Saudis and Israel then they are not terrorist attacks as both regimes in those two countries are the worst when it comes to terror. They are acts of wars but not terrorist attacks. The human right violations against IRANIAN-Canadians (not Canadians) are not directed against Canada specifically and is another proof that the nations and governments in those countries are two separate entities. -

This comment alone shows how little you know about Iran politics. The reason the reformers failed to gain power was NOT because they didn't have enough support among people for God's sake. All I say is educate yourself and the fact that you have a Persian roommate some 40 years ago does not make you an Iranian expert. The under 40 in Iran today are the majority and they are pro-American. 40 years ago memories of 1953 coup by CIA and Britain and the Shah's rule kept in power by America was fresh in people's memory. Those days are gone for long. -
Trudeau invites refugees to Canada, taunts Trump
CITIZEN_2015 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What is many?? and what was the question exactly? Do a majority of Canadians say that for example landed immigrants from Muslim countries must be banned from exercising their right as an immigrant to enter the country and just because they happen to be a citizen of a certain country? I don't think they are many and those who do are associated with fascist organizations abroad who discriminate based on race, religion and national origin none of which is anyone's fault or doing. -

In your link Iran is not even listed. And my question was among muslim countries and you admittded yourself that Lebanan is 39% Christian as why. My point was Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, UAE were not among the 7 selected countries. Do you acknowledge or refuse to accept (blindly) than Iranians are more pro-American than those countries I listed???? And learn a bit about Iranian society: http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/28/opinions/mason-iran-misunderstood/ http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0119/p09s02-coop.html
