  1. Because that is where their skills are needed the most and where the jobs fitting their skills exist. Will there be 100,000 jobs for doctors and engineers and professionals and skilled workers in Yukon or NWT every year? What percentage of hospitals or schools are in those two places or what percent of budget is allocated?
  2. I agree with first part of your paragraph and I said it myself but disagree with the second part. Though there are some immigrants who may be a burden on Canadians for a long time but they are not a majority (and they are mostly refuges not immigrants). As I said Canada must become more selective as who they are bring in. Adaptability must become a very important criterion for example. By adaptability I mean those who do not believe in freedom and western democracy and western values which includes respect and equality for women must be weeded out and the decision must be made on individual basis during carefully assessed personal interviews not regional selectivity as some are advocating. other assets (money and or education) and potential of contributions for future must also be the other important criteria but second to adaptability, Statistics from independent sources indicate that Canada's population is aging and birth rate is falling so we do need young professionals as immigrants to come and support the aging population. So we must not stop immigration but enhance it by being more selective.
  3. It is true that we need an improved immigration policy and in particular be more SELECTIVE as who we admit into Canada (rather than stopping immigration altogether as we do NEED immigrants for future economic growth and secured pensions) but what is not true is the hidden fact from some anti-immigration members posted in this thread that there are also many immigrants who contribute positively to Canada and Canadian society, They arrive and though some initially may depend on assistance (like subsidized tuition fees for college and education) but in the long term they become contributing members of the society which has welcomed them and tax payers for decades to come. They become doctors and engineers and teachers and nurses and workers of many types and help the nation to grow while paying taxes and pensions securing the social programs and future pension plans. That said we may choose immigrants who are more adoptable to Canadian society.
  4. Federal elections is just around the corner in less than two months the result of which would impact our citizens to some extend in particular the economy. I am hoping that we would use this thread as a poll tracker on Federal election and update the results on a weekly basis or more when we get closer to election day. As of now it appears that the two main parties are neck and neck (with Liberals having a slightly better chance to win) but the nation seeing the many sunny days in the past may change figures drastically in Liberal's favor as we get closer to the election day in October. https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/ In summary past 4 years there has been many sunny days in Canada as promised by our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau 4 years ago which include strong job creation record, strong growth in the economy, low interest rates and low inflation. Justin ended many years of a corrupt and full of scandals Harper government in October 2015 with his strong pre-election campaign and unexpected performance won a surprise majority. Let"s see if he can repeat that performance this October. Looking forward to many sunny days in the next four years in our beloved country and prosperity for the nation to continue in a Liberal way.
  5. We have talked a lot about Iranian politics in this thread but find out interesting facts about Iran and its people not what its dreadful self-imposed regime wishes to put in your minds. https://www.icepop.com/interesting-iran-facts/ Make sure you scroll all pages and pictures. Needless to say most hijabs that you see in pictures are mandatory and hated. So are the turbans (hated), especially those who wear them.
  6. The nation was destroyed in 1979 when the so called revolution (which was an illegal coup) took place. And yes the USA had a lot to do with it. Not only under cover they facilitate the transfer of power and back stabbed their long time ally (the peanut brain Carter) but also 25 years before that when they make a pact with the devil (united kingdom) and stage a military coup in Iran and toppled the elected government of the time and this action led to the 1979 uprising. Military strikes or action is not the way now and the US does not have the ability anyhow. However, they can help the popular opposition groups (the Crown Prince, the National Front who briefly came to power in 1953) to topple the regime. Those leftists who aided the Ayatollahs to come to power will never be voted in by the nation in a democratic manner. The US has to invest billions and get serious. My message to Trump is less talk and more action. The right action less stupidity and less arrogance. US of A military cannot defeat Iran so stop idiocy.
  7. Iran did not attack the tankers and did not shoot down the US drone either. It was likely the Revolutionary guards who attacked the tankers without the knowledge and approval of Iranian government or may be even without the approval of some elements in the Iran's regime. They are trying to provoke the US into a limited attack on Iran so that they have an excuse to grab even more power or even topple Iran's government and take over completely (the US does not have the military strength or the will or the balls to start a full scale war or invade Iran as they did in Iraq as Iran military is much stronger and Iran population much more and Iran is much larger and full of mountains). The US will one day smart up and realize that the only way to bring peace and stability to the middle east and the world and eliminate threat of nuclear war is to topple Iran regime and superficial acts like sanctions and limited military strike is only going to backfire while hurting the innocent Iran nation who are caught in the middle and sanctions and worse limited strikes will only strengthen the hardliners and revolutionary guards in Iran who enjoy the enormous wealth while the rest of nation lives in poverty and get poorer every day thank to US stupidity and lack of knowledge about regional politics.
  8. Yes you did. You did not mention regimes in Iran and Syria.
  9. I am quite happy with AIRBNB and I hope they expand and grow as I am using them often when I travel and they provide good accommodation at very reasonable prices. I can see some may be unhappy with AIRBNB as they are a punch in the face of big corporations like hotel chains as they are not able to gouge the prices. I get twice the size of a hotel room and twice the comfort and at half the price. It is the big hotels gouging prices which should be banned not AIRBNB.
  10. Mullah's regime is collapsing while the nation cheers a cleric shot dead in the Iranian Western city. One less cleric, they posted. https://www.economist.com/middle-east-and-africa/2019/05/04/why-shia-clerics-are-turning-on-irans-theocracy Hoping they will collapse before the entire country is collapsed as they have done anything to destroy the country and its ancient nation.
  11. You forgot to include in your list the worse dictators the world has ever seen. Those who murder women and children, Threaten the world and rule by evil, fear and destruction. Yes Russia and China and North Korea all true but the list skipped the worst ones.
  12. It appears the US is getting serious to drive Iran regime's oil export to zero. This would be very serious for the regime which uses oil revenues to pay off its guards and its paramilitary basij mercenaries heavily to suppress its nation however, sadly it will be very painful for the Iran nation too. Is it true to say no pain and no gain but the pain may be so severe that it may cause the death of this ancient civilization in the hands of the regime as some regions with minorities may choose separation than remaining their 25 centuries ties with the Persian nation. All this because of a huge mistake by the past generation who started a revolution when the nation was prosperous with double digit annual growth and a regional superpower when the Shah was ruling.
  13. And now she is banned from returning home. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/apr/17/sadaf-khadem-iranian-boxer-halts-return-arrest-clothing What a disgraceful regime.
  14. Iranian female boxer to be first Iranian female boxer on international stage asks Iranian females to be even more courageous and fight harder to achieve what they deserve after being declared the winner yesterday in France. Long live lion hearted Iranian females who are risking their lives to achieve freedom and equality they deserve. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/boxer-sadaf-khadem-to-break-barrier-for-iranian-women-11438838 And she was declared winner in a game against the French champion. And all these happening the same day when anther Iranian female Vida Movahedi was sentenced to jail for simply protesting the hated imposed mandatory islamic hijab. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/iran-hijab-protester-sentenced-to-a-year-in-jail-lawyer-11444246
  15. Despite extreme suppressive measures by mullah's regime Iranians flocked to Pasargad on October 29 to commemorate Cyrus the Great. Young people beaten up by mercenaries of the occupying regime and some vehicle impounded however many chose t walk across mountains t reach Pasargad as the mercenary police also had closed the roads days before. Iran’s authorities appear to have taken measures to prevent citizens from staging a gathering at the tomb of the ancient Persian king Cyrus the Great that attracted thousands of people celebrating the country’s pre-Islamic glory. Crowds of mostly young Iranians were compelled to use nearby hilltops to continue their path towards the tomb of Cyrus the Great near the ancient city of Pasargad in central province of Fars to celebrate the day unofficially marked in the Iranian calendar as Cyrus Day. Videos released on social media show them using different paths to reach the site, causing heavy traffic even on the adjacent village roads. Reports suggest that the authorities dispatched a variety of security units to Pasargad, to prevent people from entering the site. They blocked roads leading to the tomb from Sunday afternoon to limit the number of people who visit the tomb. Online footage purportedly shows concrete barriers erected on the roads leading to the area. The state security forces that were stationed at previously launched checkpoints, turned back vehicles that had come from other provinces, only permitting vehicles with local license plates (belonging to nearby cities of Fars Province) to pass through. Iranians with vehicles having license plates from other cities, such as Bandar Abbas, Yazd, and Lorestan Province are saying that authorities preventing them from heading towards Pasargad. Numerous state police and Revolutionary Guards Basij units were stationed in many areas near an exit from Shiraz leading to Pasargad, preventing people from reaching the site. Some people moved toward Pasargad by foot via detours and mountain paths. https://iran-hrm.com/index.php/2018/10/29/iran-blocks-gathering-at-tomb-of-ancient-persian-king-cyrus-the-great/ This Arab sympathizer occupying self imposed hated islamic regime is fearful of its own shadows never mind its own people. LONG LIVE PERSIAN EMPIRE. HAIL TO BRAVE IRANIAN PEOPLE.
  16. So you are claiming that women working in Turkey or other muslim states (if they are considered human to allow to work or drive or wear what they choose) are not being sexually harassed?? Or there lacks statistics because of cover ups or widespread harassment (being a normal thing and part of the job in muslim countries)?
  17. Do (some of) the churches in Turkey involve in terrorist activities against the state and population of Turkey. No I did'n"t think so. Do some mosques in the US involve in terrorist activities against the state and population. Yes I think so.
  18. Damn Hypocrisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As bad as this murder is BUT It is appalling that there is so much international uproar for a single journalist killed likely by Saudi regime whereas the world (and many posters here) are SILENT about all those hundreds of innocent journalists and environmentalists and students and workers and union leaders and women jailed and murdered in Iranian jails by Iran occupying regime of mullahs or MADE suicide in jailed or tortured to death. DAMN Hypocrisy or what?? Is this mullah's oil worth so much that the European so called democracies are prostituting themselves to mullahs and the world remain silent and blind to Iran regime atrocities?
  19. Worth is not the correct wording as on the contrary He worth shit like all other mullahs but yes he has accumulated a wealth of $300 by stealing from poor starving nation and his corrupt actions. The day of reckoning is close for all these murderous subhumans.
  20. Iranian teachers joined other workers to go on strike. https://www.rferl.org/a/struggling-to-make-ends-meet-iranian-teachers-go-on-strike/29544746.html A general strike by all deprived workers and citizens is the best way and least bloodiest way to bring down this anti-Iran murderous regime of mullahs.
  21. You got a point there.
  22. So the Europeans not born yet living next century are responsible for the actions of their governments prostituting themselves to mullahs' regime still trading with them and hence keeping them in power longer so that they can murder and destroy more or the current living people are responsible for these actions?
  23. I said the VIDEO was biased because it spent a few seconds criticizing the activities by the regime side and many minutes debating and attacking the anti-regime sides. The coverage was biased.. I did not say Aljazeera was biased. And you carry on with covering up for the brutal regime and their murderous actions against a defenseless nation. Or even better continue with your unconditional support for Palestinian cause and forget about your own flesh and blood. Shame. Were not born then.
  24. Hardliners Reformists the game is over. Iranians declared they should both go to fuc*ing hell. https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/reformist-project-iran-dead-181004192538633.html Until the outbreak of protests in December 2017, Iran portrayed an image of itself as one of the most stable countries of the Middle East. One can't help but draw a comparison to January 1978, the year before the outbreak of the Islamic Revolution, when Jimmy Carter raised a glass to the Shah and called Iran "an island of stability". If history has taught us anything, it is the unpredictability of Iranian politics and the fact that the political reality of modern Iran is by no means fixed - rather it is fluid and capable of giving birth to realities unforeseen by stakeholders. Nevertheless, the fact remains that the Reformist movement no longer has legitimacy as a viable democratic alternative.
  25. Justice system under islamic republic Iran. The victim of violence and rape was executed in islamic Iran under islamic system. http://time.com/5415628/zeinab-sekaanvand-iran-execution-violence/ ' ' Sekaanvand’s life was defined by a legal system which brazenly disadvantages women. A system which sets the age of criminal responsibility at nine years for girls and 15 for boys—and the legal age of marriage for girls at 13. It does not criminalize rape of a woman by her husband. It violently imposes the abusive, discriminatory and degrading practice of forced hijab (veiling) on women and young girls and then jails the ones who campaign against it. It’s a system where, ultimately, a woman’s testimony is worth less than a man’s. That’s why no one in power listened to Sekaanvand’s story. They chose to end it instead.
