  1. It is in criminal code of Canada and the reason that the law enforcement in TWO cites only have declared that they will not enforce it (in Vancouver and Montreal and you are not telling the truth when you claim most don't enforce it) is because the new laws are stupid and very backward unsuitable in a democracy so they enforce it only when there is a harm to someone like pimping or underage or forced prostitution (in other words the good old laws) as they have NO TIME to enforce Harper's stupid laws in those two cities though Ontario premier has said Ontario WILL enforce it. In addition the two cities are not the entire country. In many other cities many people have been charged for consensual sex since the former injustice minister pushed it through parliament in spite of many concerns and expert advice against the bill under Harper's order.
  2. Do you read the link you are adding before adding it? Likely no because statistics in your link is only available up to the end of 2013 whereas the new ridiculous bill which became law in a manipulative manner by former Harper regime became law in December 2014 after which no data is yet available and certainly NOT in your link. The bill criminalized purchase of sex which was legal in Canada before that and hence many thousands who might have engaged in that activity and arrested are waiting for their court day as it is criminal since above date. In addition to many other related acts became criminal. What I am referring is the criminalization of sex between consenting adults as even before forced prostitution and underage and pimping was illegal so no new laws were needed. Also the link that YOU have added has this article in it if you had read it. For police, Bill C-36 may put further strains on their resources and budgets. A further consequence may be of that placed on the court systems around the country. The Canadian Bar Association has already warned of backlog issues around Canada’s justice system.
  3. I have already given an example in my post. Perhaps you could go back and read it.
  4. Yes when I read about this last week I was disgusted that something like this could happen in Canada. But I partially blamed Harper and his injustice minister Peter MacKay who brought in stupid laws based on their own religious beliefs and hence tied up the courts with stupid cases with non-criminals while real criminals getting away with murder and rape. Damn Harper regime for which we will be paying heavy prices for years. Stupid laws like bill C36 who criminalizes and jails those engaging in consensual sex with adults up to 5 years (or at least those people charged will have to line up for courts) as one example which was introduced in 2014 against all expert advice in a manipulative manner based on personal beliefs and Trudeau government is too acting too cowardly to repeal this stupid bill at least so.far.
  5. As per title of this thread religious fanaticism is not a new concept in Canada. Harper who was elected to becoming a Prime Minister of Canada many times was a religious fanatic himself and as an evidence (and many other similar actions) he criminalized consensual sex between adults whenever money was exchanged in a manipulative dictatorial manner in 2014 in spite of expert advice against the bill (C36) and many assertions that it would jeopardize workers' lives and well being but as it is common for religious fanatics to impose their beliefs upon others he pushed it through and made it a law. So my point is that OP's attempts on this forum to represent that middle east or Muslims have a monopoly on religious fanaticism or being a threat t Canada and its values (threat to democracy is from within by people like Harper and his supporters and I am sure Muslims are not among them) or it being unCanadian is not correct and is a misrepresentation. Also Being a Muslim does not necessarily mean being a religious fanatic since some likely most of these people at least come here so that they get away from fanaticism and lack of freedom especially those who come from oil rich countries they have no economic reason to immigrate other than getting away from religious oppression. That said the numbers above are terrifying at worse and of grave concern at best and the elected government must act NOW and respond to the will of the nation by curbing immigration and selectivity of immigrant based on Canadian values and this should not be limited only to Muslim fanatics but also other religious fanatics including orthodox Jews and Christians and Nazis and criminals and those who do not believe in equality. .
  6. In response to thread title yes some Trump supporters are ugly fat faced pigs who are hateful losers because of their own ugliness and inferiority and insult at others who are facially and otherwise superior to cover up their own inferiority. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3930596/Trump-deport-Woman-launches-racist-abuse-Iranian-born-citizen-train-calling-Middle-Eastern-terrorist-evil-little-pig-shocking-viral-video.html#readerCommentsCommand-message-field
  7. And they voted for Bush TWICE (though the first time it was rigged thanks to his brother) who destroyed the US by war, economic mismanagement, many Americans killed, out of work, ..... Yes it tells much about Americans and their intelligent.
  8. If that is the case (and I doubt that is the case) after all revelations and his sexist racist arrogant remarks what does that would tell about Americans??
  9. Trump is a trash based on his racist sexist speeches and ideas and American people today are going to put him where he belongs that is the trash bag of the history.
  10. I give them that advice anyway, Besides some Americans especially those living in border areas or visiting Canada may care and influence their votes as what their largest neighbor and biggest trade partner think about their president as latest poll shows a big majority of Canadians don't like Trump will for sure sway a few votes down there.
  11. Well understand this. Some Canadians (like ,myself) may have families down in US as citizens who can vote and can influence the results,
  12. Trump lost my support when rumors/revelations about him assaulting women started circulating. Anyone with no respect for women is a piece of trash in my eyes.
  13. Those who wish to retain their way of living stay where they are and live their way. Don't come here trying to change us or demanding others who are born here or have run away from backward cultures to change.
  14. I have changed my views on immigration. Canada already suffers from unemployment and rising housing prices in certain regions. Have you taken a ride in major and even smaller Canadian cities, It is bumper to bumper and crowded with traffic jam everywhere. Not to mention that Canada will lose its cultural identity being swamped by people of different cultures especially certain cultures who believe in inequality of women and violence. The current level should be reduced and selection made and focused on skilled workers, As Argus said somewhere Immigration is to benefit Canada not Canada to benefit immigrants. So elected officials should react to what Canadian want (lower immigration quota and selectivity) and not decide on their own to increase the current high level further.
  15. A summary of consequences of these rules which we should have had them only for the ywo regions of the country at the local level not Federal level for the reasons described before. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/personal-finance/household-finances/do-ottawas-new-mortgage-rules-go-a-step-too-far/article32250068/ http://business.financialpost.com/personal-finance/mortgages-real-estate/realtors-say-millennials-are-the-real-losers-from-new-mortgage-rules
  16. Yes immigrants should do more to fit. They have chosen on their own free will to come here and they have to change and fit. It is not the other way round to try to change us and yes if they don't like what they see and the way we live then they can go back where they come from. I think Argus had a good point on saying that immigration is intended to benefit canada and selection should be based on that criteria. It is not intended as a charity. That said I am still against regional selection but as time passes by and I see and hear things I may soon cross that border too.
  17. I used future tense and yes many bodies will when the economy dives into recession as a result of consumer spending eroding badly by those losing substantial equity on their investments.
  18. Would some of you ladies and gentlemen who oppose my posts just please take a moment and read what I have posted before commenting. I am not saying no actions were necessary because indeed Vancouver and Toronto/GTA had serious problems with skyrocketing housing prices so yes actions were necessary but what I am saying is that the issue was local and local governments should have taken action to cool down markets NOT at the federal level was a clear mistake because housing is already very slow in many municipalities even before these tough measures and it is now going to nose dive in Ottawa, Montreal,, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg and all small municipalities. That is 70% of the country will suffer now thanks to Feds and their miscalculated actions. To you since you live in BC or southern Ontario then those two regions are the entire Canada? Well not so. Many other regions have already slow market or had a balanced market and they will collapse now.
  19. As I said some people don't understand basic economics and the role consumer confidence plays and how it affects every aspect of economy as related to growth and employment and the danger of deflation and consequences of downturn in housing market.
  20. The only thing ridiculous is your statement. Do you have the ability to read or understand. Nowhere in my post I even remotely indicated that I want to spend the equity in my house but rather stated that consumer confidence will drop as they lose their equity so they reduce or stop spending on other items such as cars, clothing, food, travelling and I used myself as example. Read and try to understand (i know too much to ask from you) and then comment or respond. Some people don't understand basic economics and throw accusations like saying "Some people just like to be rich on paper" or like "they want to close the door behind them for anyone else who didn't get that chance". If I can sell my property at 200 thousand higher than what I purchase 5 years ago that is real wealth not paper wealth and it is harsh rules disqualifying most people from mortgage loans that closes the door for other people left behind in the housing. People losing property value lose confidence in the economy and low consumer confidence always triggers slow economic growth if not a recession.
  21. No you know I meant over a year or so. Are you saying that in a market that some 90% of potential buyers were just kicked out of the market then prices would stay the same????? Really?
