  1. A lot of negativity in your post. These are unprecedented times the country and the whole world never seen before in 100 years. Canada is much better off compared to other countries, Add a little bit of positive facts to your post. like a close to 9% growth in GDP in third quarter released by StatCan today instead of what happened 6 months ago due to pandemic. Yes Justin has done much better than many other governments during pandemic by keeping Canadians from sinking.
  2. I am no economist but basically a lot of ONE TIME expenses like hundreds of billions of dollars that Trudeau government is undertaking this year (like cerb or rental subsidies, etc.) to keep Canadians from sinking, losing their homes and bring food to their tables till this damn pandemic is over (likely by June or September) will disappear next fiscal year. Also the rapidly growing economy next year and years after (post-pandemic recovery as businesses open up and start paying taxes again and so will back to payroll employees) will bring back lost revenues which were lost this year due to massive business closures and lockdowns and generates new revenues. A combination of two will likely explains why the deficits drop so fast in just 2-3 years.
  3. Great fiscal update by Trudeau government. Yes the size of deficit is large this year and next but much better than almost all other Western democracies and also well being and economic survival of nation is much more important than anything else right now. Canadians can remain confident that Trudeau government will have their safety and well being in mind when making decisions as compared to cut and burn policies of Conservatives.
  4. AstraZeneca vaccine - fact or fiction? I am not convinced about their claim of efficacy and hence anything else they say. If i have a choice i will go with other two vaccines. Initially they said a halt dose followed by full doze a month later give 90% efficacy whereas two full doses will give 70%!!! How on earth this is possible, I asked myself. Then doing my research I found out that it appears they actually selected the first group (less than 3000 participants) with so claimed 90% efficacy to be all under 55 years old (stronger immune response), whereas second group (over 8000 participants or 3 times more than first group), from all ages and two full doses had only 62% efficacy only so that they came up with this overall 70% efficacy claim (which by the way is the minimum efficacy required by WHO). Is there a data manipulation going on here?
  5. Those workers who report to work and face risk everyday to take care of our essential needs like health (health care workers) or make sue we have our essentials like grocery and food as well as emergency workers and all other essential workers who have to come to work must be paid extra, Maybe double the usual rate. Our sincere thanks to all of them.

  6. This is not true. Hundreds of schools reporting at least one confirmed case and some having outbreaks. They then take virus home to parents or grandparents giving them to me and you in groceries or even God forbid die from it.
  7. With close to 1600 new cases today and rising the Ontario government and Doug Ford are making a big mistake to keep the schools open. Close the damn schools in Ontario,
  8. Great words. Trudeau is the spokesperson for kind caring Canadians.
  9. Drunk driving is a crime and whoever does it should be punished for the act endangering innocent people's lives but it is not murder who PLANS to kill someone or purposely to take life, It is an accident that happens when someone very selfish and uncaring disregards people's lives he or she puts in danger. The two should not have same punishment'.
  10. When irresponsible people at the government level making wrong decisions and not listening to expert advice then many will suffer. Lockdown works as proven back in the spring. The choice is thousands dead or thousands out of work. I choose the latter
  11. Your post is full of hate. You clearly have no respect for democracy when you insult so openly the elected Prime Minister of this great country. Those saints who fought in Europe and Afghanistan against fascism of different kind and sacrificed their lives for the democracy we enjoy now are turning in their graves when they see so much hate. Maybe it would be best if all haters go to hell and make the world better for rest of us?
  12. Ontario government has ordered flu vaccines only for a third of Ontario population while it is encouraging hard for everyone to get one. What is the word for these people? Incompetent is too mild.
  13. Look what is happening in Europe. France, Germany, Sweden and elsewhere They were not selective in choosing their immigrants. I am not suggesting to select based on skin color. No but select based on potential future contributions to Canada like education, assets for investment, and more importantly cultural compatibility like respect for human rights, other religions and respect for women. Keep out those trash who do not believe in those values especially respect for and equality and liberty of women. I am not sure Canada is fully following those guidelines at the moment and this may mean trouble down the road we don't wish for Canada.
  14. Right now they don't have any vaccine period. Young or senior or elderly doesn't matter. I would have got at least my parents vaccinated if I was aware of their incompetency.
  15. I just went through the long process of filling application form for myself and my dependents at shoppers drug mart and they emailed me a code to be presented at any of their stores within 7 days however, they also advised me to check availability of vaccine before showing up at their store and NONE of their stores that I checked have vaccines available right now. So the problem is not limited to Rexall but every pharmacy. My parents are most vulnerable so if they didn't have the competence to provide vaccines for everyone then at least they should have made it available to the elderly like those over 80, especially this year a mix with covid-19 will flood our emergencies.
  16. Lucky you. I booked appointments for myself and my family with Rexall more than two weeks ago. They were cancelled citing lack of vaccines. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2020/11/02/ontario-pharmacy-flu-shots/
  17. While governments at all levels were encouraging Canadians to get a flushot this year back in late September and early October and should have anticipated the increased demand, however, they have not provided enough vaccines for the population and many pharmacies have cancelled or are cancelling booked appointments while Ontario health minister denied there is a flu vaccine shortage in Ontario. Is this called total incompetency on their part or there is another word for that?
  18. The guy (Trump) has proven again and again that he is totally out of his mind and now a sore loser coming up with totally false accusations of voters fraud. I am happy to see the American psycho is gone for good.
  19. This is way over the reasonable number of 150,000. They must choose proportionately. For example only 1.5 out of 7 billion of world population are muslims then the proportion of immigrants from all of muslim countries must NOT exceed one fifth of 400,000. They must also use selectivity. Immigration is supposed to contribute positively to Canada not being a burden on Canada. Immigration system is nor a charity or refugee organization. If all of above is not respected I may not be voting for my favorite party in the next election.
  20. Amnesty International's recent report on Islamic Republic Regime in Iran. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2020/09/iran-detainees-flogged-sexually-abused-and-given-electric-shocks-in-gruesome-post-protest-crackdown-new-report/ Widespread torture including beatings, floggings, electric shocks, stress positions, mock executions, waterboarding, sexual violence, forced administration of chemical substances, and deprivation of medical care Hundreds subjected to grossly unfair trials on baseless national security charges Death sentences issued based on torture-tainted “confessions” In the days following the mass protests, videos showing Iran’s security forces deliberately killing and injuring unarmed protesters and bystanders sent shockwaves around the world. Much less visible has been the catalogue of cruelty meted out to detainees and their families by Iranian officials away from the public eye. Instead of investigating allegations of enforced disappearance, torture and other ill-treatment and other crimes against detainees, Iranian prosecutors became complicit in the campaign of repression by bringing national security charges against hundreds of people solely for exercising their rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly, while judges doled out guilty verdicts on the basis of torture-tainted ‘confessions’. This litany of crimes and violations, committed with total impunity, has been accompanied by a wave of forced televised ‘confessions’ in state propaganda videos and grotesque statements from top officials who have praised intelligence and security forces as heroes for their role in the brutal crackdown.
