I think the push should be on better treatments for this damn virus. I hear that Pfizer's pills are about 90% effective if taken early enough. Patents should be removed for mass production of vaccines and treatments. Do you have a better solution please present it. But rejecting all available means does not solve any problem.

Yes study after study indicate that two dose vaccine has little efficacy on preventing infection but rather effective to reduce (not prevent) serious illness. Statistics show reducing ICU by a factor of 7 and reducing hospitalization by a factor of 3.4. Since we got fully vaccinated people 7 times the number of unvaccinated hence ICU numbers are almost equal. The good news and latest research on booster shot however shows that they appear to be even effective against infection by Omicron (I believe about 70%) up to one month after and at this time they don't know for how long this high efficacy will last.

Virus mutated and vaccines wanes both responsible for fully vaccinated to be still in hospitals even in ICU. The truth is vaccines only reduce the probability of severe disease (ICU admissions by 7 fold and hospital admissions by a factor of 3.4) and by smaller amount the infections but does not eliminate it. There is no vaccine in the world for any disease that can prevent infection 100%.

It is incredible the extend to which you go to justify the unjustifiable. Being unvaccinated is a CHOICE. Being a Jew was not a choice. Nobody even remotely suggesting unvaccinated should be treated badly remotely close to how Jews were treated, however they must not be allowed to leave home and walk among innocent people including the elderly and children.

Canadians are fed up and frustrated with the pandemic and refusal of a small minority to vaccinate themselves and latest updates indicates a majority of ICU beds are taken by the small minority unvaccinated people who choose not to vaccinate. Therefore the governments responded by making life harder for unvaccinated people. However, with the advent of highly transmissible Omicron that strategy may not be enough as hospitals are overwhelmed and heart and cancer surgeries are being cancelled and the nation realizes that the lives of their fellow citizens are being put in grave risk for no fault or choice of their own, the Federal government is now indicating the provinces may mandate vaccination. Great. Better late than never.

Are you seriously impaired to understand the simpler fact that vaccinated population is 8 times higher than unvaccinated???. In spite of that the most important indicator, the ICU admission is almost equal between the two population.

The fully vaccinated versus unvaccinated is 81/12 really.

As I said before ICU admissions are more important than hospital beds because lack of ICU beds causes cancellation of surgeries. Hospital beds can be put in the corridors and OVER HALF OF ICUs ARE OCCUPIED BY LESS THAN 10% OF UNVACCINATED POPULATION.

You are also misrepresenting the facts. And the facts are that unvaccinated people have 7 times more risk of ICU admission and 3.4 times higher risk of hospitalization but your earlier figures hide the facts stated.

Federal Health Minister just said 50% if hospitalizations in his province of Quebec are unvaccinated which is less than 10% of population but taking half the beds. He also said provinces may make it mandatory.
