The question was only about using streets for protests. I'm sure you can figure out for yourself where such criminal acts fall in legal priority.

Remember Trump? Couldn't take the heat! Never occurred to him that he'd have to kowtow to voters to get elected. Couidn't believe that ordinary people would tell him what to do. Truth is the corporate autocrats that support conservative political parties could not survive democratic politics for a second. They tell people what to do. They do NOT tolerate 'inferior beings' telling them anything. Only those conservatives who can't make it rich in business go into politics, and become the puppets of the corporacrats who bought them. They are also seen as inferior beings and they lick the boots of the bosses. Imo

Agreed. How the hell are they going to understand the needs of today's seniors if they don't comprehend the pharmaceutical benefits of the weed! Big pharma is worried ... !!!

Yes, you are wrong. There is an important sequence of priorities in applying the law that all police officers are supposed to know but sometimes need reminding: The Constitution is the supreme law of Canada and takes precedence over all other laws. Criminal law is next. The Highway Traffic Act is pretty far down the list and municipal bylaws even farther. Suppressing political dissent is against the law in Canada. Thus, it's a matter of police discretion, protecting freedom of expression and public safety of all citizens, including protesters, are the deciding factors. In a corrupted 'democracy' like ours, street protests by normally law abiding citizens are a certainty. WE pay the police to "serve and protect" US, not to be the hired goons-with-guns-and-no-ID for government or corporations who want to supress public dissent. Otherwise, no democracy would ever survive.

Lapdog to the anti-democracy corrupt money boys Oleg? I thought better of you. You do realize that to them you are entirely dispensable?Mulroney went down for a lot less money, Chretien for a bit more. I'm gonna go to Muskoka for my next holiday. I have 32 stops planned to see every one of the $1.5m projects. I'll dress to the nines as I want to look appropriate when I take a $hit in every damn one of those $1.5m toilets!! And maybe the gazebos too.

Not to worry Oleg, Harper will soon have all the separatists, commies, socialists, union members, Arts and humanities professors and students, young "iberals and young NDP'ers, people on welfare, disability (oops that's you!), old hippy grannies and grampies, midwives, social workers, skateboarders, cyclists, pot smokers (except Tim Hudak cos he's so "normal"), misc. 'Lefties' and anyone who criticises his toupe safely locked up in his shiny new prisons that we paid for. NO ONE will get Canada as long as Harper's our self-appointed dictator ... NOT EVEN US!!

Yes ... usually with hands and soap and cloths ... and usually we WASH OUR HANDS after. Again I suggest use of soap and water like other humans. Heads up ladies! There are male dog owners whose face and mouths you might want to wash with soap before kissing them! YJ, lick your dog's butt and then see how interested your woman is in kissing you. Now excuse me, I have to go carry some water for the 3+ times daily Muslim ritual cleansing. Eta: In no way do I condone animal abuse. There are creeps of every culture who do it.

Thanks Michael.

" The only organized or collective physical aggression at that location that evening was perpetrated by police each time they advanced on demonstrators,” Justice Melvyn Green ruled on Thursday. He was referring to a demonstration at Queen St. and Spadina Ave. on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Green stated police criminalized political demonstration, which is “vital” to maintain a “viable democracy.” Green’s stern words echo widespread criticism of police during the G20 ..." http://www.thestar.com/iphone/news/article/1038347--aggression-during-g20-rally-perpetrated-by-police-judge-rules I repeat ... "POLICE CRIMINALIZED POLITICAL DEMONSTRATION" ... in Canada. I wish we could find out what the hell was going on with the chain of police command. WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING?!!!!!! My impression, from reading a lot of accounts, is that police tolerated demonstration ONLY until one or a few protesters showed any aggression - annoyed the police - and then all protesters were demonized, criminalized, dehumanized debased, abused and incarcerated, even uninvolved citizens in the 'wrong place-wrong time' and anyone filming police actions. Over 100 police officers do not 'spontaneously' decide to illegally remove their badge numbers: WHO IN THE CHAIN OF COMMAND CONDONED THAT?!?? Toronto Police Services? OPP? RCMP? G20 Security Committee? CSIS?!? HARPER?!!!!!! How do we get the answers? How do we make sure it NEVER happens again??

Dogs are unclean. They lick their privates and butts and then want to lick your face. They roll in dead animals and then want to be petted. Some drool endlessly. I have liked and loved dogs, but I don't let them lick me and seldom pet them. Your dog should never be allowed to approach a stranger. If they want to approach the dog they'll ask. Your dog should. NEVER EVER be allowed to approach a strange child EVER. Their teeth and yucky tongue are often right at face level, and it is frightening for a child if not dangerous. If someone wants their child to have a doggie experience, they'll ask you. It's not up to you to decide the child should meet your dog. If a person ran around licking kids' faces they'd be arrested. Think about it, and please keep your dog on a short leash on public trails, parks etc. They should be tied even on your front porch because a darting child is a target or plaything to them. I was chased by a country neighbour's dog every day for months on my small motorcycle. Nothing felt so good as that boot that finally connected with that dog's head. Funny thing ... owner tied it after that. Jerk knew the dog was a menace but did nothing to protect me from him, but protected the dog from me. Lol There are some bad dogs but mostly bad dog owners. Dogs that join packs and kill farm animals are shot. And that is the natural way of dogs, but we don't allow it. Don't allow them to approach strange children either. Thanks for the soapbox.

Angry at governments for selling out to foreign powers and selling off resources while brutally punishing public dissent. The transfer of wealth from all public pockets to a few private hoards is the problem everywhere, and the rallying point.

From above link: "Our findings suggest that fear of politica unrest may be an important factor that is holding back governments As expenditure cuts start to bite, the number of anti-government demonstrations, riots, genera strikes, attempts to overthrow the established order, and politica assassinations increases dramatically." The society of today is irrelevant. Government austerity leads to unrest. Remember Mike Harris? He didn't care, said the lawns of Queen's Park would be trampled, and they were. It has become clear to young people that peaceful protest is useless with right wing corporate funded parties. It's austerity for the poor and middle class and corporate welfare, tax cuts and slush fund handouts for the wealthy. It's transfer of dollars from our pockets into the pockets of the wealthiest few. It's disgusting, and it looks like the youth aren't buying it and aren't working within the system either.

The plot thickensIt seems the NDP has unearthed information that Clement set up his own process to select projects for slush funding, one with little paper trail run out of his constituency office. Will the slush stick to Clement? -

Who decides who is a 'real' Christian? Who decides who is a 'real' Muslim? I'll bet it depends on whether they contribute MONEY to a church that has tax-free status - ie, legal, government approved status. I believe that those who persist in pushing their religion on others are more followers of Paul the Roman who institutionalised the corporate church, than Jesus who simply drew people to him.

Conservatives To restore The Royal Canadians...
jacee replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Interesting ... but perhaps stupid. Is Harper such a "royal" fan? He doesn't think much of the GG's power over him, so if he is it's skin deep I expect. Maybe an election promise to the AF/Legion? One issue comes to mind: Immigrants from former Br. Colonies - eg India - like to think of Canada as independent and won't like more reminders. Is this important enough to all Canadians to waste our time and money on? I think not. -
Don't NEED them. Want them? Maybe ... if they're not aho's. Socialism has nothing to do with it. Happens in conservative families too.
-
E a Of fir ya that's the ticket! A bit of fire and brimstone in the streets too!

That's pretty harsh. Protesting some of Israel's hardline overreactions against Arab people does not make one a "jew hater". And it's off topic.
