Prediction: Trudeau wins a majority this Fall
jacee replied to QuebecOverCanada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The other goofs are destroying the country, and the planet. Liberal and Conservative politicians only look 4 years ahead because that's all we hold them accountable for. Here's a novel idea: Let's look farther ahead and vote for the future. -

Because fossil fuels are killing us all. We need a government that plans for future clean industries, not ones stuck in the past, dependent on resource-extraction and environmental destruction. Short term monetary gain = long term pain. -

Fossil fuel corporations running the country? No thanks. Canadians are saying no to that. To be credible, Conservatives are going to have to shift their base out of Alberta now, or they'll lose their rural base across the country. Greens are becoming the choice of small c Conservative small-business farming communities across the country. The western corporate fossil fuel Party just isn't speaking to their needs anymore. The blue swathe across less populated rural Canada is breaking up because of the long run of western corporate fossil fuel power, that doesn't serve their needs now or in the future. Catering to dog whistle anti-Muslim politics is just nonsense, and they're smarter than that. -

Truth! Except the Greens, of course. Lol -

Links? 1)Data I've seen is predicting a comfortable minority win, but not a majority. 2) NDP losses of votes are going to the Greens, not the Liberals. People do not want a majority government. Only minority governments are accountable to the public. -
Typical lunatic fringe hateful extremist Zionist bs. Go ahead and poison your life. Lol And yes, extremist Zionists do cozy up to white supremacist anti-Semites in Canada, nurturing each other with their shared hatred of Muslims. Sick sh!t, but all just lunatic fringe. Not worth any more of my time.
-
(Mistook you for another rampant and hateful xenophobe. Excuse me! Lol ) I'd rather have Muslim neighbours and immigrants than hateful xenophobes. Muslim Canadians come here to get away from extremism and terrorism. Our largest Muslim population is now Canadian born. In our public schools, kids practice non-discrimination. There is no hatred promoted or practiced here. There is some vile anti-Muslim hatred by white supremacists and extremist Zionists ... now in bed with each other! Imagine Zionists cozying up to anti-Semites to share a common hatred! How sick is that! And imagine choosing a life of poisoning yourself with such hatred! But those are all just fringe lunatics, who are not well-integrated into normal Canadian society, losers in the mental lotteries of life. Over a million Muslims live peacefully in Canada, practicing their religions in peace, doing their jobs, raising their kids - who hang out at rinks and lakes and shopping malls with other Canadian kids. I don't think you know much about communities in Canada. If you do, in fact, live here you're certainly not part of mainstream Canadian society.

Immigrants cost Canada $30 billion per year

Slight complication: Permanent residency precedes citizenship. People who qualify as immigrants to Canada via the points system are given Permanent Residency. *We have no problem getting enough immigrants for quota via the points system, and more who would, so why would we accept any who don't qualify for Permanent Residency? *Permanent Residents are covered by the Charter of Rights, including Freedom of Mobility. *And there are already sizable numbers of (eg) Muslim immigrants in every small-medium sized city in Canada, because they go where the jobs are. I just don't see your idea as useful, feasible or necessary in the real circumstances. -
Ignorant, xenophobic stuff as usual, Argus. Nothing you say is relevant to Muslims in Canada. Terrorists are not Muslim, any more than Anders Behrens Breivik was Christian. Afghanistan has large deposits of uranium and other minerals. Canadian soldiers were defending roads, infrastructure and employees of companies doing mining exploration over there. Syrian oil was the target, reducing Russian control. Do some research: Every conflict has an underlying western corporate motivation. They just teach you xenophobia to cover up real motives. You're being duped into hatred to cover up their greed and aggression.
-
Ya? You use a checklist with every Muslim you meet, so you can judge them? Lol How about just judging each on their behaviour, like we all do with people we meet?

There is no viable threat of that now. There is only the reality of Israel, persistently obliterating Palestinians. -

Canada's history is filled with immigrants who struggled to survive, feed and house their families on backbreaking, poorly paid labour, including farming ... so their kids can do better. We all know the stories, and mostly the second generation does do better. When that's our cherished 'story' as a nation, how can we then turn around and say 'We won't take any poor people'? Ridiculous. And it's irrelevant: 'Anti-immigration' just a more socially acceptable way for white supremacism to disguise its racism and xenophobia. -

4 Salafi extremists not aligned with Hamas or Palestinian governance. -
Why judge people by their religion? Why have religion-based conflicts? Just stupidity over fantasy nonsense, imo. Lol Religious differences have always been created, maintained and incited to divide people, to serve the needs of sociopathic predatory capitalists.
-
Yes, western imperialism - corporate quests for fossil fuels and minerals - has devastated the economies and freedoms of some countries, and created quite a backlash. That's the practical reality. But your response is pure xenophobia. How does that serve your needs?
-
All religions are "backward", imo. Why pick on one? And this ... https://www.globalresearch.ca/why-is-islam-the-fastest-growing-religion-of-the-modern-era/5667893 ... it is the self-serving and hypocritical Western interventionist policy in the energy-rich Middle East region that adds fuel to the fire. When Muslims all over the Islamic countries see that their brothers-in-faith are getting massacred in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Afghanistan, on an emotional level, they feel outraged and seek justice. It serves western predatory capitalism to vilify Muslims.

But something might be in the works ... The Trump administration’s "Deal of the Century" peace plan is not expected to be released until after Israel's September 17 elections, as per US special envoy Jason Greenblatt. -

Bringing international students in is a financial windfall for public universities, and a source of future higher income immigrants already adjusted to Canada. Skilled immigrants - need no excuses for that. TFW's - Most fill necessary jobs. Some employers game that system to keep wages low, but that's a regulatory issue. TFW's keep some Conservative voters happy. Business class - Bring their own money. Again, happy Conservatives about that. Refugees - Lots of Canadian families originated from waves of refugees fleeing desperate circumstances. I don't think you're really being honest about why you're so "disgusted" about immigration. -

I'm sure there are as many Conservatives as Liberals who hide money offshore, away from the grasp of Canada Revenue. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/cra-tax-gap-foreign-holdings-1.4726983 That $15-$30b per year could go a long way, but ... https://www.taxfairness.ca/en/news/conservatives-want-make-taxes-less-progressive -

Time to Ban AirBNB - It's creating a housing crisis

So do I. These imposters with multiple properties working for developers or realtors, are the problem. It isn't Airbnb's responsibility to inform guests of changes: It's the host's responsibility. The fact that there were no hands-on hosts, just a fake picture of an imposter and no one really addressing guests' issues, exposes those listings as problemmatic: They'll get bad ratings and reviews from guests, and they won't get bookings in the future. The Airbnb system is self-correcting.
