Link Now there is another suspected case of mad cow in the US. And apparently there was quite a delay in getting the cow tested for BSE. What's going with the US cattle industry?

Here's who I think will get it: Link

rbacon Cut the crap Calgary last time I checked had the most popular French immersion program in the country. I think we all need to focus on our Canadian values together. With our abundant natural resouces we should be able to generate great knowledge based industires. Canada needs a national program that we can all get behind like "The Avro Arrow" Diefenbaker announces Avro Arrow cancellation -
So this is what Afghanstan is all about. And Canada's in there as well.

So if it were one of these four which one would you prefer?

US in plan to bypass Kyoto protocol Well I guess Bush has no choice with all those corporate lobbyists funding his party. -
What about Atlantis? Discovery's launch apparently didn't damage the wing like what happened on the Columbia, although perhaps it is too soon to say what the consequences are.

Nasa grounds space shuttle fleet Let me preface my remarks by saying that of course I wish all our space travellers a safe journey, and a safe return home. Having said that I think it would be a wonderful event if the Russians ended up bringing them home safely if their spacecrafts are not useable.

GostHacked Thanks for that - very useful website. -
Seriously this chain-link fence is a new issue for me, we don't even have them in my neighbourhood yet, let alone people wanting to take them down. I do remember though living in the Bruce Peninsula and they had some rules about what colour you could paint your place. It seemed a bit much at the time, but NO COMPARISON with the smoking, seat-belts, bicycle helmuts, spanking, obesity issues. I like the idea of somehow forcing people off junk food, just not sure how we can best do it collectively in our society. I think I'll go out to Wendy's now before the ban takes effect!

Here's the right's perspective on all these politically correct changes we are making. I got a good chuckle reading her article as she must be writing tongue-in-cheek. Either that or she really resents not be able to smoke in the house any more. Okay, no smoking, but no chain-link fences?

Err That is a great analogy. Thanks -
Yaro Thanks. Well there certainly is a lot of current US power brokers on that list, so it would be prudent to paid attention to, but not necessarily to agree with.

The link seems fine and it shows that even Americans are waning of the Bush doctrine. -
I spent a bit of time looking at their website. Why don't you give us a brief summary of what they are on about.

Things are heating up at Hans Island. Why don't they just sit down with each other and sort this out? I understand Hans Island is closer to Greenland than Canada - maybe we should just give it to the Danes, with visiting vacation rights, of course. Denmark asks Canada to reopen territorial talks over disputed Arctic island

Australian government is still in denial. We need to crack a few heads over there, what can those people be thinking? Climate change wake-up call If the UN were wise, they would focus a lot of their energy on global warming as it looks like we are probably going to need a world government to save us from being fried like a egg before too long. -

I think the whole grand jury investigation is about who revealed classified information about Plame's identity. And the net seems to be getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. Where it is going to stop, nobody outside of the special counsel's office really knows.

Why do people think the Liberals are up in the polls? I think it is partly to do with balanced budgets, addressing the debt, although we still do have a way to go here, and a fairly robust economy. PM Martin is connected with balanced budgets and beginning to pay off the debt.
-
Well I like what Paul Well's posted yesterday on this situation: Refresher course I wonder if the Liberals really want her but I suppose every seat counts when you are not that popular.
-
I think a lot depends on the personality of the individual in the position. According to the Globe article the current female LG in Quebec is quite popular.

'Six further terror cells are poised to strike' I can understand Canada being lax about terrorism here, but I am actually quite surprised that the British would have lowered their guard the way they apparently did. Hopefully the people fighting this Al Quaeda organization, whatever it is, are doing the painstakely slow work that really would be involved in bringing them down, and that is by infiltrating their ranks. That means that our best chance of success is to have other Muslims find out who they are, and to turn them in.
