Ok then, I understand your position. But CA has clearly stated that this thread is of use. And I am providing my position to the possible benefit from this thread. I also believe that CA has fairly thick skin and can go to bed every night no problem, regardless what happens on this forum. I wouldn't be surprised if this thread has further strengthened his resolve! WWWTT

I believe that CA is taking into account the number of times the borderline comments are being made. I have made borderline comments from time to time (albeit not as harsh) and have not received any warnings from them. I'm sure CA does a tally of how many reports he gets and from who and etc. etc. That must have some play into his decisions as well. I can clearly see he spends a lot of time here moderating this site so this is his puppy, he is allowed the benefit of doubt in running this place as how he feels appropriate. WWWTT

And what is wrong with that? I call that "brainstorming"! Lots of good can come out from this approach. WWWTT

Yes but on who's part? Don't get me wrong, reading about how waldo was suspended will have an impact in how far I will go in a comment critical of an issue! But if you feel that YOU are gaining better/more insight into moderating this forum from this thread, then I believe that it is worth continued engagement. WWWTT

This really spoke to me: On March 15, an hour before he disappeared into a washroom at Muzik, Ford ran into pop star Justin Bieber in a common area of the exclusive nightclub near Toronto’s waterfront, according to witnesses. Ford tried to shake Bieber’s hand and became enraged when Bieber jokingly asked him, “Did you bring any crack to smoke?” http://www.thestar.com/news/city_hall/2014/05/01/rob_ford_took_cocaine_at_exclusive_club_witnesses_say.html To say that this is the end of Ford simply means that you don't understand where Ford gets his support from. This guy was done as soon as Chow announced she was running! The road side freak show circus charisma persona exuding from every pour on Ford nation has buoyed this "dead meat" with "Jedi Force" skill! WWWTT

Something tells me that the two visible moderators of this forum are turning this thread into an opportunity to reinforce their rules with some additional explanation (which does help). However, my concern is that any positive ideas generated here in this thread by the members, are falling on deaf ears! If this is indeed the case (and until it becomes clear I will have to assume this is the case), it is belittling to the members who have some genuine concerns. Just wanted to remind everyone that this thread (in my opinion) was meant to advise the moderators, not the other way around. WWWTT

I concede you are correct. It was always the intent of the government to use the military for their own campaigns, unrelated to the defence of her citizens. But I still believe that there is a shift away from using the military for domestic and search/rescue roles. WWWTT

Same argument can be made in the defence of war criminals. WWWTT

Never said that there was anything wrong in that. WWWTT

Nope sorry, this is my opinion, just as you have your own my friend. Canadian government has gone to great lengths to obscure and change the role of the Canadian military. My comment is bold and provocative not by design, but because many people have been conditioned to see things in only a strict tunnel-vision perspective. And as far as I'm concerned, I'm on the side of history! WWWTT

So what crushed the Orange crush asks one poster here? Is it Justin? Looks like the trends are swinging away from the self confessed pot smoker. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/04/30/quebec-poll-thomas-mulcair-justin-trudeau-crop_n_5235603.html?ref=topbar Smoke another dooby Justin! WWWTT

I agree! We are all entitled to our own opinion, and we are free to associate with whomever we choose. Conveying your opinion to a person close to you is also your right! But I'm not sure about the exact laws in the US? I have heard now that the league is giving him a huge fine, which I believe won't stick in any US court (only an assumption without researching). It sounds like the league has no other choice but to give this guy the grapes of wrath to encourage him to leave. And I seriously doubt that the league is in any way surprised. Probably more pissed off that this became public! I personally give a rats ass about any over paid "entertainment". I've got better things to spend my money and time on instead of watching a bunch of men push/kick/throw something into a net In actual fact, this case probably has the most impact on society than every game ever played of all the combined professional sports out there! First off, the BNA act didn't happen until 1867, so anything before that is not included. Even after that, it is very debatable if Canada was still an independent country from Great Britain. See Boer war for more details. And yes, I am saying that when the government declared war in the past, it was never because we were invaded. And sorry, but this oath you are talking about has nothing to do with the foreign expeditions like Afghanistan. Maybe I should clarify something. The Canadian military does play an important role, but it's the Canadian government that uses our troops as mercenaries! WWWTT
-
Bit of a quick history lesson here for everyone. Canada has never been invaded by another that we did not declare war on first! Therefore, not one Canadian has ever died in the defence of Canadians. Those who died in the military, have died in the defence of the Canadian governments policies. Not Canadians! If you can not see the difference, then as far as I'm concerned, propaganda works. If you join the military thinking you're going to be fighting an invader threatening the citizens of Canada, then your odds of winning the lottery are probably better. Person who makes a sacrifice for the people of their country = hero. Person who makes a sacrifice for the government/group/corporation = mercenary. WWWTT

Reporting temporary foreign worker program abuse
WWWTT replied to eyeball's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
At 15% reduced pay. That's what this all boils down to. You think employers would care about foreign workers without the 15% reduced pay???? Go forbid employers having to pay their employees "fair market value"! That term is never used when the employers want to rape/extract more money from their employees! WWWTT -
Yes it ticks me off incredibly that the rest of the GTA outside Toronto gets no attention at all! But I prefer the option be there for future debates. Not just that, the Ford fiasco thread I started, since being merged with the other Ford threads is on/off one of the more popular single threads here. It should remain categorized as is. WWWTT
-
Yes thank you. I find this advise helpful and will use it! WWWTT

Weather, climate and earthquakes (or something along those lines) I'm surprised that a topic of so much interest does not have it's own category here?!?!? I started a thread about the devastating ice storm that the residents of southern Ontario and Eastern Canada endured, and unfortunately there was no proper category to list it. For me, the weather is of great interest, I always check the weather and it has a direct impact on all our daily lives. Perhaps you can also start one about astronomy? Solar flares, lunar/solar eclipses, meteors/comets, etc. Also a wildlife sub-forum. Or maybe a general "Nature" forum with these sub-forums. I find this of interest and I hope others here to. Or this category attracts new posters. My interest in the other topics here change from time to time, so I will not say anything negative about them. WWWTT

Toronto Municipal Election Thread 2014
WWWTT replied to Black Dog's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Ok so here's the latest update. Olivia Chow had a coffee with the "Iron Sheik" from the wrestling world. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/04/26/the-iron-sheik-supports-olivia-chow-for-toronto-mayor And now the "Sheik" is supporting her! Apparently Ford was supposed to meet up with the wrestling legend but some stuff happened so check out the link for details. WWWTT -
The Surplus is Here! Let the Campaigning Begin!
WWWTT replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How much is majority of the deficit? Sounds like a lose term to give an impression of an greater amount. The thing that kills me is that the conservatives here blame the majority opposition MP's for the deficit, then pat themselves on the back for the safety net the increased spending provided throughout our economy. Want to know who the real hero is here? 1CDN$=.90US$=increase manufacture exports/jobs! But the conservatives don't want to talk realty, just conservative fairy tails that actually worsened the economy! WWWTT -
Ok I threw it out there a couple of weeks ago now. Has anyone heard of a sitting MP or even an MPP, lose the nomination at their riding associations nomination meeting? After doing some searches, for the life of me, I can not find/think of one single example, therefore I'm going to have to say that this is a first in Canadian history! Just goes to show how embarrassed the executive were of this Rob Anders character! Rob Anders has brought great shame to the conservatives and his constituents! And to think that conservative cabinet minister endorsed him, and Harper him very self, only goes to show what kind of riff raff the conservative party harbours! Good riddance! WWWTT

Why? We're starting to make progress on this subject. Locking threads is also another subject that I feel the moderators should put more consideration on, so thanks for bringing it up cyber. WWWTT
