  1. I do not believe our democracy is entirely healthy. When there are so many people who profit from the status quo, how will it ever evolve to reflect a changing reality? WWWTT
  2. You seem to be the most bothered here about this young womans actions. She really got to you didn't she. WWWTT
  3. Man your a work of art buddy! WWWTT
  4. When did Afganistan become Canada? WWWTT
  5. Yes she is! She stood alone silently in the house of commons holding a sign. No support. No weapons. No bullet proof vest, nothing. And she is brilliant! WWWTT
  6. No! You need your head examined! Standing up for what you feel is important? Damn straight thats brave! Bravest person in Canada! WWWTT
  7. Bridgette DePape is only 21 and has a huge heart of gold. Her protest was peacefull and silent and effective. I wish this young woman all the best and I hope what she has started gains steam and momentum! WWWTT
  8. OK when you guys say "North Pole" are you refering to the magnetic north pole or the geographical north pole. The Magnetic poles wander and I believe the last time I heard of the location of the northern one it was well outside of Canadas borders. Aswell I believe the geographical northern pole is outside of Canadas border and is under the Arctic ocean ice shelf. Another point is that its freekin cold there! If you want to go freeze your freekin ass off there for nothing go right ahead and book a seat on an icebreaker and nock yourself out. While your up there try to stay alive long enough to say it was worth it and I'll be down here rootin you on! Good luck! WWWTT
  9. Man your comments are freakin funny! Keep up the good work and all the best on your predictions! Good luck buddy! WWWTT
  10. I hope all conservatives feel the same way as you do. This is the same train of thought the liberals had(NDP have no teeth) Do not mistaken no teeth for no support. They have a tremendous amount of support and its growing, but please go back to sleep,we`ll wake you up when the conservative death march starts playing! WWWTT
  11. Ya the two branches of each body that would be directly involved(educated guessing now) would be transportation and environment, and possibly(more than likey) several others. So some quik math would give you a ballpark figure of 36-40 different agencies/bodies that would have an interest. I recall a large natural gas deposit being discovered under Lake Erie about 5-8yrs ago. Some initial exploration tests were done to determine the size of the reserve. And eventually the deposit/reserve extraction project was scrapped after environmental assesments were done.I suspect that all parties involved(Ohio,Ontario,US,Canada,Michigan,Penslyvania,if not more)came to the conclusion the legal fees and disputes would bury any possibility of any feesible profit. WWWTT
  12. Actually there are seven states and two provinces(Quebec-St.Lawrence) and two federall governments, and all the various branches steming from each body. Well over two dozen different boards or bodies I believe WWWTT
  13. Absolutely right NASA is also another major leech! They will never get it together until they address these two issues WWWTT
  14. You forgot Pearson,Clark,Mulroney,Campbell,Harper,Bill Davis,Peterson,Rae,Harris,Mcguinty. Nice try WWWTT
  15. I disagree with you on two points. Our love affair with the auto may have lost its bloom for the moment but I believe that when an efficient and inexpensive all-electric vehicle hits the market(hopefully solar powered)we are going to fall in mad passionate love with the car all over again! And the other point would have to be that people are moving further away from their work and essential neccessaties.I agree that this was clearly the case about 10 yrs ago in southern On.But recently there has bein a phenomonal boom in condo activity expecially in the downtown cores of all the GTA.And the main reason is the commute time, commute cost and housing cost. New home starts in the GTA or Ontario(GTA for sure) 53% consist of condos.Compared to around 25% 10 yrs ago! This is a tremendous change in personal life style occuring. WWWTT
  16. When comments are made while sitting in the house of commons, the person making those comments against anybody can not be sued! This is the law. However when comments are made outside it is another story. Most major newspapers and broadcasters have bein successfuly sued! I do not need to prove this to anyone here, nor do I have the time. Ignorance of the law is not any excuse and it is not my job to help anyone here! I am not saying I know of all the cases and the judgements handed down but I know that defamation and libel suits are not uncommon. WWWTT
  17. Do you also mean all those attack adds the conservatives use of their opponents using old audio recordings and film footage out of context? WWWTT
  18. Actually since he was not charged and convicted you may be sued for libel or slander so tread carefully. If any newspaper or radio or tv station(publication) made such a comment they deffinetely would be! WWWTT
  19. Did Harper try to stop this? Did he come out and say he will disregard this ruling and open the books? Or will he just keep quiet and hope it passes? WWWTT
  20. Yep I pulled the number out of my ass! Enjoy! I came with this number after thinking about all the legal cost and fees charged for changes at all levels of government, government bodies, courts, crown land, currency etc etc. Then there are the legal fees that Canada would be responsible for making sure that we are recognized internationally and among other commonwealth countries. Actually the more I think about it the more it would cost. 20 billion would be a more realistic starting point actually. But I am only guessing. I am also safe in saying that we are all in agreement that it would be a heavy burden on the tax payer! WWWTT
  21. I also believe it would be an extremely expensive thing to do. I would take an educated guess of around 10 billion to finalize,if not more. And I am not sure but I believe it would need the approval of other countries in the commonwealth. But Canadians are not very independant thinkers anyways and "The Republic of Canada" won't go very far,not in the near future anyways. WWWTT
  22. I have read a bunch of the comments on this thread. And it sounds to me like many anti-NDP commentators here are jelous of the NDP's success in Quebec. All the classic signs of sour grapes are there. Would you guys like some wine and cheese with your grapes? WWWTT
  23. The media will need great determination and luck now to get any information out of the PMO's office or any ministers expence budgets etc etc. Harpers shroud of darkness and silence is now complete and his henchmen and himself are free to spend and spend and spend on anything they feel. Free of critisism, free of scrutiny free of examination. WWWTT
  24. The big threat from the conservatives here was that if the NDP got into power the price of gas would skyrocket. Really? I'm watching Jim Flarety right now on the CBC and essentially he is saying that you better get use to it. I guess the GST cut on the gas only helped the big oil companies pad their profits, which I am sure are handing out big bonuses to their CEO's for a job well done in increasing profits on the backs of us and our economic recovery. WWWTT
  25. Ok heres WWWTT take on this The liberals are done, gone, finished, out to lunch, dead in the water, dust in the wind etc etc etc. If you think there is still a chance then you are probably a conservative infiltrator that wants to hand over another majority to them in 4 yrs. They need to start merging with the NDP. Problem is that the NDP have all the trump cards now and the liberals are going to have to go through a freakin hell fire cleansing of anything right wing that is left in them.In other words Martin supporters are not invited to the NDP party. Bob Rae is the person for the job! Good luck liberals WWWTT
