Yes Mike if you recall there was a popular thread here a couple of weeks ago about safe injection sites. The two main views was for the site and the other was against. The against side was in my opinion generally the right wing pro big business or pro 1%. Now I could be stretching here a little but I believe a few here may agree with me so far on this. WWWTT

From what I remember at that time the GG's decision was the safest,uncontroversial and was predicted as such! It was Harper that was forcing their hand into an awkward position!And manipulating our system! In fact I would have enjoyed seeing a GG that wasn't a robot during a time like this! WWWTT

This is untrue! Many of these so called junkies live in a world of no hope and despair "created" by the 1%. The ability to help them reach a better life is being supresed by the 1%. Essentially you are blaming the victims for the crime! WWWTT

Ok on a serious note I would have to say that I based my opinion on the fact that every time the GG is approached,the GG decision is a predictable safe one. This shows a lack of self input and indicates they were "advised". WWWTT

Actually smallc has pointed out that the GG's role has not changed since the libs. were in power. This is news to me because the NDP and libs. are not critisizing the current GG for doing his job. Actually the GG job should be a full time job,not a part time job! The GG role now should be to promote Canadian values and interest nationaly and internationaly! I believe someone with charisma and charm would suit this role fine Not just that when there is a constitutional crisis in Canada(usually caused by the conservatives) then the GG has a tremendous amount of support and essentially turns into the robotic monkey playing the cymbals(actually I would prefer a funny cartoon character like the robot "Bender" from futurama.Oh I know lets use one of the "transformer" characters!While performing their regular duties as GG,they would have the form of a celebrity,but during an constitutional crisis the GG would then say ""GG transform!"" and then turn into some geeky political scientist).(Oh aswell his left arm would be a machine gun!) Actually when the libs. were in power the GG was part of team Canada going around the world to help promote trade and commerce. Ironically the reform party of the time heavilly critisized her(and the libs) for this! And it appears now that the strongest supporters of the crown now are the conservatives?!?! This is a funny thread. If Europe is an economic basket case then why should Canada immigration strengthen their efforts to recruit immigrants from there? I would assume the belief here would be that the cream of the crop there would be more inclined to relocate in Canada durring this economical turbulance.
