Yes I did comment on the Oakland issue. Aswell as a couple of Canadian cities that are considering asking the OCCUPY protestors to move along. Its only a matter of time that these protests start getting ugly unfortunetly. WWWTT

CP24 is playing the incident over and over! Yep Ford used bad judgement! This guy is an embarasement! How this guy became the honourable Mayor of Toronto is beyond me! Actually you would think something like firearms would be a federal responsibility,not provincial. Suggesting the provinces to pick up the slack in my opinion is hypocritical,I believe Harper is worried about a negative backlash from voters if God forbid something bad happens after the registry is gone! Actually I should add that Rob Ford could/may be charged for misusing the 911 service! This service is provided for emergency and I believe that misusing/abusing an essential emergency service is against the law! Maybe someone can provide a link to back me on this. I'm going to provide two examples from personal experience: 1)Back in the mid 90's I lived in downtown Toronto near the Bloor/Sherbourne subway entrance.One night I heard a woman screaming franticly,I ran outside too see,I imediately called 911!The police where there in a couple minutes.Turns out some man tried to rob this womans purse and she droped to the sidewalk with her purse underneath her and the man continued to try to take her purse.When I first looked I could not determine what exactly was happening,I only seen a women screaming laying on the sidewalk with a man on top of her!(She was ok in the end and still had her purse) 2)About 10 yrs ago when I was living in Caledon,my neighbours dog(rotweiler)was running around off his/her leash and barking loud(10pm).I called the OPP(not 911)from the safety of inside my home.In a reasonable time an officer arrived at my home and I told him about my complaint.The neighbours dog was running around barking at the same time the officer arrived so my explanation was fast and believable.The officer then proceeded to resolve the issue. There is a clear distinction between these two cases. I used good judgement in both cases! Why can't the hounarable Mayor Rob Ford use good judgement! I have no sympathy for this guy and he should put the interests of the citizens of Toronto ahead of his own and immediately resign! WWWTT

The G20 protest in my opinion was a protest about the finacial heads of the world dictating to the world how the pie is going to get divied up.Not easy to protest!And something the corporations don't want to hear! Essentially what is being protested is the preferential treatment the corperations are getting.(OCCUPY) Can you provide any examples similar? And for the record-If a peacefull protest can be as effective as an ugly one,I would prefer the peacefull approach! Oh and I forget to mention how this relates to the Arab spring. I believe western governments are somewhat docile after the Arab spring in their approach to public protest for fear of looking like hypocrits! WWWTT

I believe I had heard Harper say something along the lines that the provinces are free to set up their own gun registry after the feds eliminate this one.(within the last couple of weeks) I immediately thought he is just being a typical conservative hypocrit because I do not believe he would have said anything like that if he hadn't felt that the gun registry has some kind of usefull value. WWWTT

Oh so it was perfectly fine for him to call 911 in the first place? This 911 operator could probably tell that Rob Fords case "was not" an emergency.And rightfully so!I believe part of the operators training would be the ability to tell between real calls and not so important ones. Rob Ford used poor judgement.This isn't some guy working at Tim Hortons.This is the mayor of Canadas largest city!This has nothing to do with character!Judgement has to be one of the most important aspects in being a politician! If what you are saying here is true then this whole incident is not funny anymore! Ford is an absolutely terrible man! It would be even fair to say he is the worst politician in Canadian history! He should do the right thing and resign immediately! WWWTT

Actually so far it appears that if there is violence it would originate from the police and not the protestors. Aswell it appears that this protest does not have a time limit! Having one or several distinct leaders does have its disadvantages as well as advantages. Similar protests in the past have failed to provide any signifigant gains(north america),so perhaps the people involved keeping this thing afloat are fully aware this is going to be a test of patience. Neither one of us are actually directly involved so we can only engage in speculation and I wouldn't be so quik to dismiss the effectivness this protest may have over time. WWWTT

My appologies. I think I meant to say "results".Only a serious rukus or some level of violence can attain any possible results.Or something along those lines. This is controversial of me to say! However we are not like much of the public! We are fully aware/engage in political debate,unlike the majority of the public. I wouldn't be suprised to see a clearer voice come from these OCCUPY protest as friction increases! WWWTT

Yes I actually do not disagree with you. However the initial idea proposed in Boges comment was MPP's who have crossed the floor,I tried to acknoledge this point since I felt it was a good point that nobody followed up on,including Boges! WWWTT

I don't think there is anything wrong with making a legitament complaint to the police. He could have done that easily without calling 911! What bothers me is that this guy is demonstrating terrible judgement-not a good sign! Actually he is a huge embarasment(literally and figuratively)to all Canadians and I am sure alot of conservatives will be happy to see this guy gone!(I'm sure you'll agree with all of this) WWWTT

I was watching "Power and politics" today and one of Evans guest was a high ranking On.PC.MPP. Man this guy was smoking mad at this Frank guy for announcing his intention for the Speaker job! Apparantly the speaker is obligated to vote with the government to avoid confict or collapse or something along those lines. WWWTT

Ok now this protest is starting to turn ugly in Canada and the US. In Oakland Cal. the police have used tear gas against the protesters. Some small rukus in Vancouver and a possible confrontation coming up in Halifax. Is this how protests work?Nobody listens or pays any attention until things get ugly? WWWTT

Well I wonder how the Canadian public will react if after the gun registry is gone the murder rate in Canada goes up? Will Canadian voters contribute the gun registry for a lower murder rate in Canada? WWWTT
