Freedom of speach is a costitutional right! Once in a while somebody has to excersice their rights to remind everybody we have them! And besides that,is Harper worried that Washington is listening to the NDP? Or if Washington is more willing to listen to the NDP then why not let the NDP talk? WWWTT

Thanks for pointing that out jbg. I'm not a big Lightfoot follower but I'm somewhat aware of the folk material or theme. The songs that I am aware of that I believe to be of a more commercial success don't fall in the protest category,but I could be wrong since admitingly I am not the closest Lightfoot fan. WWWTT

Heres another angle being used on Sun TV that I have noticed that I find interesting. Apparently they are claiming that Gordon Lightfoots daughter has bein attending and supporting the OCCUPY protests.And claiming that Lightfoot is a multi-millionaire. Now I am not disputing any of these claims. What I find interesting is that Sun TV seems to be desperate to make some supporters sound like they are hypocrits Now this is odd to me because I wasn't aware that the OCCUPY protest was an anti wealth protest. To me I was under the impression that OCCUPY was anti right wing government and corporate policy. Aswell Lightfoot is a folk artist singer/songwriter.And folk singers typically write about hardships and injustice(Lightfoots success I believe does not follow this trend) Is this a weak attempt to drive a wedge between the oppresed and the oppresed voice for change? WWWTT

But would say someone like David Suzuki be able to air some kind of program on Sun TV? Ezra has even been a guest on CBC many times aswell before Sun TV! WWWTT

This is a false statement! The NDP are very rooted in rural Canada and now that Harper got rid of the gun registry their job will be much easier. There are some rural regions in Canada that are exeptions,but hey Harper at one time had a real hard time in urban Canada. WWWTT

Actually I errored slightly. In Sas. the NDP received over 32% but 0 seats out of 14. In Manitoba the NDP got 25.8% and only 2 out of 14 seats. However I am still correct in saying that a slight shift in support can result in as many as 20 seats changing hands. WWWTT

Hey now hold on a second! In the last election the NDP did get alot of support in Manitoba and Saskatchewan,over 30% I believe.They just didn`t get the seats out there to reflect this! An extra few percentage points in their favour can completely turn the tables on the conservatives in these two provinces and as many as 20 seats can change hands! I wouldn`t underestimate the potential the NDP have in uprooting the conservatives! The liberals never had any real chance of doing this but the NDP are not bound as the liberals were. WWWTT

There is logic in Pats choice of words and approach. His tactic appeals to many and will actually increase support. The reform pretty much cornered the market on this "cowboy political" style. If anything critisizing Pat could make the conservatives look like hypocrits. WWWTT

Yesterday I watched some of a debate/discussion on the OCCUPY protests on Sun TV. Man this tv station is so blatantly biased it isn't funny! They had this weak guy representing the left(all the names elude me).Apparently he has a talk show on 1010am radio. Every argument that the right on this network uses is pretty much taken right out of this thread! I was dissapointed to see that there is little or weak rep. for the left. WWWTT

This seems odd? So if the democrats say OK Obama we are not going to back you then does Obama have to step down? Has this ever happened before? Can Obama still run as an independant? Wouldn't this hurt the party and allow the opposing party come up the middle with an easy victory? Its just seems very odd and unlikely to me WWWTT

True the left does counter the "tough on crime" image" with the economics of their proposals. But the point I am trying to make is that the conservatives in Canada are trying to use religion,moral ethics in their campaign style.Much like the Republicans in the US. I find this puts them in somewhat of a contradiction with many Canadian voters because the conservatives are also pro Isreali anti arab.And the Canadian voters that are the most religous are from the Islamic faith.
