Smallc - we have gone through this bullshit that CPP premiums need to be increased to save the program so many times already. The last big hike in premiums, under Paul Martin, was supposed to be a permanent fix too.

What it really means is that Conservatives are taxing the middle class to keep tax rates down for the rich....just like the grand bargain across the border is raising middle class tax rates so that business and investment taxes can be lowered again!

The CPP and EI aren't taxes are they? One is an Insurance Policy and the other is a Pension.

WIP - CPP premiums are untouchable by the government at current. The money goes into the program, and nowhere else.

That's your opinion.I've always said that there needs to be more spent on health care and infrastructure.Many people own guns without incident.But when the issue of gun control is looked at,gun lovers feel that any control will take their guns away!

The point you miss while you excitedly wait for the next mass shooting(your words, not mine) is that people without guns still kill people. It's the intent to kill that we don't want to deal with.

Well can you blame gun owners? When an event like this happens the gun control crowd goes crazy and blames the tool rather than the act or desire. You can have two identical nations one with every citizen owning an assault rifle and incidents of violence few and far between and another with no firearms outside the hands of police and military and having daily incidents of violence such as this. Gun control is part of the solution but is not the solution in and of itself.
