  1. Likening the Nationalist Conservatives under Papen to the Conservative Party of Canada is equal to likening socialism under Stalin to the NDP. Your hyperbole is over the top. And your lax on gun control statement is laughable, except for the fact that the multi billion dollar long gun registry boondoggle is too painful to laugh at. Billions making sure farmers had their prairie dog shooting boom sticks accounted for. Please.
  2. lol Is that your interpretation of debate? That's the most sense any of your posts have ever made, and it's at my expense. Good for you. I'll try a little of that debatin you ain't sellin!!! "I don't think that it's an exaggeration to suggest that our unnecessarily convoluted and archaic system is a material part of the reason that Harper is still in power today" The fact is, he was democratically voted in by the people. Is democracy that convoluted and archaic system you are referring to? "And consider this. It's bad enough that most of the important decisions are made by Harper and the PMO". Odd, right, that the ppl elected to make important decisions would make the important decisions? "And Canadians get most of their understanding of politics in the same place they get most of their understanding of law - from watching American TV shows". I'm Canadian, and I've got zero of my understanding of politics from watching American tv shows. "If the system were simpler and intuitive, more people would understand it" Intuitive? Is this along the lines of the "grow the economy from the heart out" school of politics? "So, the Queen will sit back and allow people to assume and argue she is a force for stability". She is a force for instability? "A good system should protect us from bad people. In our case, we seem to have a bad system that works only due to the integrity of outstanding individuals". What? You are asserting because you don't agree with someone's policies they are a bad person? This is such a juvenile pedestrian statement. We vote ppl in, we vote ppl out...that's how you are protected from "bad people", whatever the hell that means. "You think that the views of the Prime Minister, who exercises power that a president could only dream of" Yeah, the president of the He Man Women Haters Club. "The point is that our system lacks sufficient checks and balances to prevent them from exercising almost unchecked power. Harper may not be a dictator; but he has implemented changes in law and convention that would make it much easier for a dictator to take power". Clearly, we have checks and balances to prevent just that. Also, clearly, this is pure hyperbole with no basis "Every time our PM lies to us about how our system works, she doesn't bother to correct him". Clearly, not her job to get on the horn. "And part of the reason the country is divided is that we have a voting system that rewards leaders who use wedge issues to divide people". Different ppl want different things. It's also curious you bring this up, seeing how JT has bashed the west while clearly championing Quebec. ".The PM appoints everyone (including the GG who later decides the outcome of elections), controls all the legislation and dictates to the senate" Clearly your knowledge of our system is limited. The Queen appoints the GG, on the advice of the PM. .
  3. There is so much crazy in your past batch of posts one doesn't even know where to begin.
  4. Right. You are going to sell your services to the highest bidder. To you, there are value added to area, benefits etc. As you so rightly say, it's not always about pay. It is however always about what is worth the most to the individual.
  5. I don't mean it to seem that way. If there is only one choice, then it's supply and demand. Again, they will be paid what market value dictates.
  6. If the judge agrees that your fiance is so innocent, what's the problem? If the CBSA are proven liars, why is your fiance not free? There's a lot about your story I don't understand.
  7. ..which would be the highest bidder.
  8. His sister herself said he was leaving to get dental work. He paid money for his entire family and himself to get smuggled from a safe country to get dental work that he could have received in the safe country he was living in with the money he spent on smuggling his family out of a safe country. And Canada in general and Harper in particular are to blame.
  9. Yeah, we should all pretend that evil Harper killed the little boy and his father is correct in blaming Canada and that we are all scumbags for calling him on his garbage and should let him come here and get those damn pesky teeth fixed because that is the root of all evil. And, nice to see you actually admit he was a smuggler. But let's be clear, his family died because he was smuggling humans. Carry on, now.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOV84C55OnM&feature=youtu.be "Reduce taxes, balance the budget. That friends is how you do it" One of the reasons I'm voting Conservative.
  11. So, if they became sick they would they go to the country of origin? If they had an accident, they would be taken by you to the country of origin? If they were here and needed chemo, what? And you don't see any possibility of fraud or people abusing the system? Due process is a punishment according to you. "The process itself is a punishment considering the time, money, and emotions we've invested in this all because maybe a CBSA agent had an argument with hhis wife the previous evening?" Sorry. You want citizenship, you don't want it? "If we're going to make it difficult for foreign nationals to obtain Canadian citizenship, then ket's at least make it easier for Canadians to emigrate."
  12. Arrests: How and why CBSA officers can arrest foreign nationals and permanent residents who are suspected of breaching IRPA. CBSA officers must have a warrant to arrest a permanent resident or a person who is found to be in need of Canada's protection. CBSA may arrest a foreign national with or without a warrant. All immigration warrants are entered into the Canada-wide Canadian Police Information Centre database. The CBSA operates its own Warrant Response Centre seven days a week, 24 hours a day, to carry out its immigration enforcement mandate. What is your argument? The police may do the exact same thing to anybody. It is then their choice to fight the charge or plead. It's the way it works Your argument about a CBSA officer arresting someone due to a fight with their spouse seems far reaching.
  13. Meanwhile, Paul Martin's company received $161,000,000 dollars in contracts, much of it when he was finance minister, claiming he only received $137,000. #stillnotinjail

  14. First. it's pretty insulting to say Canada is xenophobic considering the immigration policies and the number of ppl who utilize them. Second, what you are asking for is that Canada allow ppl from x country to move here, marry a Canadian, then together move to y country. During the time here, these ppl should be able to access all our medical and social blankets, though they haven't paid into them and don't plan on doing so in the future? Add tol this, you think it punishment to have to suffer the process of Canadian law if you or your spouse is accused of something? You are also worried that Canada makes it hard for foreign nationals to get Canadian citizenship and then emigrate? Why would someone even do that? To have Canadian citizenship to come back for health care, cpp, welfare? .
  15. Clearly, they are just misunderstood. They aren't barbaric, just their one little act is.
  16. http://www.therebel.media/_a_liar_and_a_blamer_kurdi_s_father_accused Uh, the NDP out right lied. Not surprising. The media bought it. Not surprising. The left on this board continues to defend both Donnelly, and this fellow who, I dare say, may be in a bit of trouble and who is has an incredible amount of audacity to even think about blaming Canada. But you go ahead lefties, blame away. Btw, scoff or don't watch because it's from the Rebel, but bet you can't prove he lied here like he can prove Fin Donnelly lied. "She says he was the one who was driving the boat, who capsized it, who didn’t have enough life jackets, who let people drown, including his own family". "The Kurdis were not in Syria or any other war zone; they'd been living in Turkey for three years. Turkey is a democracy and Kurds are a large minority there. If you’re in Turkey, you’re not a refugee fleeing danger" "Kurdi's sister Tima said they were all getting into a boat to go to Europe. Not to get away from war but because Abdullah Kurdi needed dental work". "Here in Canada, far-left-wing NDP MP, Fin Donnelly, went on TV and flat-out lied, claiming that Canada had rejected a refugee application from Abdullah Kurdi and his family. That was a lie — Canada never received a refugee application from them and they were not refugees. But the lie was too delicious, and the CBC and the rest of the world ran with it".
  17. Clearly, first hand witness accounts must be false as to the father being a human smuggler, and ever clearer your anecdotal reference to accusations of impropriety from a nation helping these refugees must be true. I don't even know if this dude is bad or not, but the defense from the left on here is bordering on cultish.
  18. Wow. Superman couldn't make that leap.
  19. J...F...C... Now you are defending human smuggling. WestCoastRunner "Many governments are involved in smuggling as well. Officials are easily paid off to look the other way when refugees are boarding a ship. The Australian government has been accused of paying off smugglers to turn around and not land in their country".
  20. Just because you believe in free speech doesn't mean you agree with everything everyone says

#ok to say Stop calling the misogynist, homophobic, child-molesting Catholic church a ‘moral authority" but not ok to say "Islam is not a religion of peace" ##hypocrite level-uh, Jesus, obviously

      BubberMiley

It's not ok to say Islam is not a religion of peace? Who told you that?

  21. So, now according to the left, reviling people traffickers is shtick. Poor human smugglers are scapegoats. All I can say is good on ya. I wouldn't have the balls to think something so reprehensible, let alone post it on a public forum.
  22. ...never mind the fact he was in a safe place and didn't need to take his family on the voyage.....
  23. Canada has an excellent record re refugees, and Harper has not lied. The MSM have lied and omitted relevant facts. Nice try though.
  24. Facts are hard. http://fin.gc.ca/news-nouvelles/video/13-002-eng.asp
