Officially not in recession. And, thanks to Harper, TPP is almost a done deal. Mr. Mulcair has stated he would not even look at it. Nice leaving Canada in the wake. NDP modus operandi though. ...and all I personally had to do was vote Harper....which, of course, I'll be doing again.

Look, there is an appropriate time. Getting your citizenship is not the right time. I have the right to wear a speedo to such an occassion, but I'm not an ungratefull person and wouldn't want to disprespect the country taking me in and saving me from the shithole I've escaped from. Which is exactly what this lady is imo. She also advocates gender segregation, so I can't wait for the left to start defending her right for that.

The moderation team seems to have a quota, much like the police on a long week end. I was given a point for saying someone was ignorant, in the proper context ie lacking knowledge.

lol...these are muslim countries....they do not support wearing these non religious garments in certain places. These are the very ppl who wear the niqab, so clearly you want to follow their example in that.

Number one as was stated. http://www.oecd.org/ -
The fact is, a regime as twisted as the one residing in Egypt isn't ridiculous enough to think the niqab is a good idea in court or schools. Yet, our own left wing here at home thinks it' s fine in all circumstances. That is the epitome of ridiculousness. btw, Pakistan, that fortress of forward thinking and human rights agrees. No niqab in courts or schools. So why do you left wingers insist it's ok here in Canada?

'They arrest gay people in Egypt too.' So, arrest gays, but too progressive to wear niqab. Your argument is?

@Toadbrother Sorry, responding to posts 327, and 329. And by definition, our democratic process allows you to vote for whomever you wish. Strategically or otherwise. No argument. -

Do the left not read facts? Are facts invisible to them? Canada has the number one economy since recession. Most jobs created since recession. Number one most respected. Our housing market is booming. Signing an historical trade agreement with our largest traders doesn't seem frosty. And Alberta would be in a mess no matter who won? Uh, capital F no. Raising corporate taxes and reviewing royalties essentially put an end to anyone wanting to do business in Alberta. Nobody but an NDP would have instituted these measures, especially when commodity prices are down. doh!! -

And I'm talking about the majority of polygamy in Canada, which is not consensual. The person makes very broad sweeping statements. ..and please, don't tell me what to do.

So Nerve thinks all those women, many underage, forced into polygamous marriages do it of their own volition? These women are chattel.

@ Dimelmah You have already answered your own question. There is already a dedicated woman's abuse hotline. There are dedicated Aboriginal helplines. And lets not forget the billions upon billions of dollars given to First Nation causes,. The hypocrisy being displayed here is palpable. Aboriginal hotline seems to be ok., in fact if there wasn't one you would be up in arms. Clear case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

@ Diallamah. There is an obvious need for this. The Shafia women called 911 repeatedly, with no help coming. How ridiculous did they look drowned in their car by their father, brother and mother. Why no help? Because authorities did not want to offend Mr. Shafia, and really, didn't know how to help these ladies due to cultural differences. So, I'll risk looking ridiculous and supporting this if it means infanticide is reduced at all. Thanks for clearly showing your ignorance to this topic.

Children's helpline going too far? Battered women's hotline going too far? So, saving women from FMG, forced marriage, underage marriage isn't worth reporting? The Shafia women went to the police multiple times, and they did nothing. Didn't want to offend Mohammod. So, I think this hotline is a good idea.
