  1. BD, you're gay for sure.
  2. I can't wait for "gay divorce" - should be a great reality TV show. Gays are wierd.
  3. This endless debate about socialism is tiresome. Face it, lefties. The cold war is over. YOU LOST. Lefties actually believe that giving more money to the government is the answer to societies ills. Righties know this to be generally false. All this talk about the poor soughts in NFLD has me shedding a tear. Here's the deal boys: No more money. You're on your own. Since when is your shitty fishery my problem. No work? Go somewhere else. Can't afford the real estate? Whose problem is that? Not mine. Lefties dig a hole for themselves then wait for the government to bail them out. Have childeren...can't afford it - cry to the government for daycare.....fishin doesn't cut it, can't find a job, blame the government. The bottom line here is that righties take resposibility for their own affairs, whereas lefties expect the government to jump in. Nuff said.
  4. I agree with you on that, with qualifications. Look at the plans they considered, and you'll see that anything approaching the scale and cynicism of 9-11 is implausible. Many of these plans call for faking attacks, which tells you that these people were not above lying for their cause but probably had qualms about killing innocent people. Another hallmark of these plans is their scope is quite manageable. 9/11 would require cross-functional coordination with many, many civillian and government organizations. Such a plan would be fraught with problems. That's the BIG hole in most conspiracy theories: scale. The Libs can't even keep the income trust decision a secret. Someone always talks. Face it: to plan something of this scale with this many people involved is not only a logistical nightmare but a secrecy nightmare too. Can you just imagine the conversation (which never happened obvioulsy) "Listen, Bob I need you to come up to my office.....my security company is going to pull out of the WTC for a day so some engineers can plant hidden secret explosives on all 110 stories of each building. We're gonna need 48 hours. I know I know, I'm on the board of directors and not authorized to give operational orders, and I know that these kinds of things require approval of the ENTIRE board, not just a secret order from one member of the board, but listen...just do it, OK? We're trying to kill 3000+ innocent americans as an excuse to invade Iraq. I know I know, sounds wonky, but just TRUST me, it will be worth it. and hey - listen, Bob. we need to keep this on the QT ok? don't tell a soul. and make sure those dozens of engineers we're gonna need to get this job done in short-order keep their mouths shut too, ok Bobby? thanks man"
  5. Motive for 9/11 ? Pretext for war. Something along the lines of the Northwoods Documents from the CIA.. Two months later the Patriot Act (how long had that been in the works?) was signed into law. On October 7, 2001 not even one month after 9/11 the US and Co went to war with Afghanistan. How long does it take to prepare for a war? If you went to war only a month after 9/11, you would have to have been preparing for the possibility of war. I would say they started working on the war plan for about, and I am no expert, but 6 months to a year? ArmyGuy.. if you are even reading this thread, how long before the Afghanistan war, would it take to prepare for that war? When would the first deployments happen? I would say the build up was happening months before the actual invasion of Afghanistan. I will say 9/11 was used as a pretext for war and to get domestic support for the war in Afghanistan and eventually Iraq. Otherwise alot of people would have not supported it. Not that i'm giving the conspiracy theory ANY credence (I'm not), but for the sake of argument, if all that was needed was a pretext for war why didn't the US stage a massive attack on ISRAEL or some other country? Why did it have to be thousands upon thousands of their own citizens? And the lefty argument is contradictory anyway. If the US was full of shit on WMD anyway, whats to stop them from concocting an even bigger lie so that they'd have the pretext without the dead bodies? And why wouldn't they try to make the case for war FIRST, using the simple fact that Saddam Hussein has flouted UN sanctions - the conditions of his defeat in Gulf War - for over 10 years and the UN needs enforement. Then excalate to WMD. Then escalate to some other lie (as the lefties say) before killing thousands of innocent americans. We're talking about terrorists - people who saw off heads and shoot women in the back of the head in soccer stadiums as punishment for infidelity. We're talking about a society that sentences a man to death for convertin to christianity. We're talking about people who blow themselves up in cafe's. Now really, truthfully - what makes more sense? That the US government allowed for the attacks on its own people? or that these were fanatical suicidal maniacs hell bent on destroying anything american? As far as"evidence" there is not one shred of conclusive evidence to support any of these theories. All this hocus pocus about people "having breakfast together" and "marvin bush sits on the board of the security company" is precisely the kind of BS leads nowhere, that stirs up questions but doesn't provide answers. That's the great thing about conspiracy theories. All you have to do is raise questions to sound credible. C'mon guys.
  6. I'm throwing a few bucks to them in support. But the real tragedy here is that this Muslim imam (very hard to remember Islamic names off the cuff - but I have a feeling we'll all get better at it. I can say "abu-musab-al-zarqawi" without a stutter now!) anyway - thet tragedy is that this imam truly in his heart believes that he should have the right to shut Ezra up. That's what's truly scary, is that some imams in this country believe they have the right to curtain free speech in the name of their religion - which all of a sudden begins to sound very much like the muslim countries in the middle east. And the even SCARIER part is that there are plenty of lefty Canadians who can't wait to stand beside him on this. Canada is NOT the middle east. We are a free society with freedom of the press.
  7. So now you're saying someone with dyslexia shouldn't be President? How INSENSITIVE of you As for global warming... If you look back about 30 years you'll see that in the 1970's the majority of scientists studying the climate were convinced the earth was headed for the next ice age. Now we're heating up? Which is it, boys? How can there simultaneously be more floods, more droughts, more storms & less storms etc. Humankind has become so egotistical we actually think we have an effect on all of this. There may be some effect, but no moreso than, say a beaver who builds a dam and changes the ecosystem around him. That is to say: it's not only humans that affect their surroundings and its not necessarily unnatural or bad. I'm all for science and discovering whats going on - but not in favor of jumping to vast conclusions and signing off on hasty "Kyoto Protocols" which are political games aimed at making us feel better about something we don't even understand yet...
  8. This is the money link I have ("money man") To quote myself: Now if that's not a smoking gun, I don't know what is. I urge everyone to read the bottom part of the first link. Well! I know that if I was a senator or congressman, and had secretly planned an attack to kill thousands of my own citizens, and was smart enough to pull off this massive undertaking, god knows my first order of business would be to have breakfast in public with the Pakistani financier of said attacks on the very morning they are occuring. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
  9. Hammas is officialy IN, and aid is officially OUT. So now what? I thought we were commited to peace. Even a democraticly elected Palestinian Government should be recognized right? Question, who recognizes Palestine's right to exist? So I say, to be fair, we cut aid to Isreal (if we do send them aid) Only to be fair. This is for sure showing some bias on the Canadian Government. The only other country to cut aid to Palestine is Israel. I am guessing they do not recognize their right to exist. And Israel has stated they will define their borders with or without Palestine's help. I think this was a hastey reaction to the situation and overall does not help anything. Wondering how you all think/feel of this situation. F*ck buddy. Hamas is a terrorist organization.
  10. Dudes, we already have 2 tiered health care. Here, and the US private clinics. The only question lef is - do we want those private clinics here in Canada, providing for services for Canadians and tax dollars for Canadians, or do we want them stateside? The rest is optics.
  11. Benedict XV was a grand humanitarian and strong critic of war. Where is this Nazi past? He died in 1922? Are you just making this stuff up now? Seriously G, when people start bringing up shit from centuries past to compare to present day muslim violence, the argument is weak.
  12. Global warming is not proven to be a result of human action. For all we know its a natural cycle.
  13. How would you know? Do you follow Maine politics closely? I understand the basic relationship between the US federal government and the states. It isn't a dependancy system like Canada's.
  14. 1. Government commission to explore the need for tolerance of the muslim faith and it's beliefs 2. Government commission to explore the need for tolerance of the Gay community 3. Government commission to explore the need for choice among abortion women 4. Government commission to explore the need for more women's rights 5. Government commission to explore the need for understanding between the muslims who hate gays, abortion and women's rights and gays, abotionists and women. 6. Government commission to ensure that the premier priority of health care is equality above timely care 7. Government commission to participate in an international program which doesn't reduce emissions but rather passes around emissions "credits" between countries and allows the worst offenders to offend unabated (china & india) 8. Government commission to inhibit international military action against rogue states because government couldn't actually act even if it wanted to - because military security has been provided by USA and has allowed lefty state to spend money on lavish social programs instead of security.
  15. exactly. you don't see states like Maine or New Hamshire whining to their fed gov about transfer payments and EI.
  16. Not only that, but if you exclude miniscule states like ICELAND, DENMARK, LUXEMBOURG and SWITZERLAND you're left with the USA still leading the world.
  17. If that is your criteria then consider the list of GDP per capita for western nations:1 Luxembourg 69,737 2 Norway 54,600 3 Switzerland 49,300 4 Ireland 45,675 5 Denmark 44,808 6 Iceland 41,804 7 United States 39,935 Guess that means the US is the 7th best capitalist country in the western world If you exclude cute little countries with less than 50 Million in population the USA catapolts to #1
  18. I really didn't know too much about him. Just what I read recently. Actually, I was surprized that he was a front runner, because I believe there are better options. But you're right about the Income Trust. It certainly does sound fishy, and if the Liberals really want to make a clean, fresh start, they will have to choose someone without even a hint of formal scandals. i think "brokeback brison" is a solid choice
  19. Gulf War I was pretty popular. I don't like the comparisons to Vietnam either. There were far more casualties in that war, and a far different political environment, and media mix. It's almost as different to today as that war was to WWII. There is a good side to the emotive response to Iraq, though. War has become politically untenable. The world's rich superpower won in a cakewalk, yet it still wasn't worth it for them. Yes - the comparisons to Vietnam are irrational and humane. The old ways of war are dying... This war is about far more than "WMD" or Terrorism. It's about a presence in the middle east. It's about saying to muslim rogue states: you will not run you shit free of our watch. And guess what? Since the Iraq war began: decades of lebanon occupation has ended. Lybia gave up their weapons program. Even saudi arabia has started giving women rights - such as the vote. and if Iran keeps up their bullshit about nuking israel, the US is right there in the neighbourhood to keep it in check. Anyone who thinks this war was started with the intention of pulling out in a couple of years was delusional. This is a long term middle east project. Stability? yep - we had "stability" in the middle east before the Iraq war. But what kind of "stability" was it? A bunch of muslim states seething with terrorism and hate for the jewish state. Sure...SHORT TERM stability. History will be much kinder to bush - the same way it was to Reagan. Remember all the lefties marching in the streets about reagan being a war monger? lol. he stayed the course and whooped the soviets. Bush's doctrine is long-term thinking and intelligent. At the end (and it may take decades) we will see less bullshit coming from the middle east. Good on him. Keep it up GWB!
  20. No, but much of the rationalization that's used to support arguments that those are cover-ups are identical to the ones used for 9-11. For example, 'it's always good to ask questions'. Another - official sources can't be trusted. Even closer to the point - finding strange anomalies and unexplained facts and concluding that there must be a conspiracy at work. And - yes - the Popular Mechanics article is a good read, if only to show that many seemingly unexplainable things can be explained. You can bet that the ones that aren't will be fuel for the conspiracy engines. Exactly. But c'mon MH, let's face it. The evidence of the lochness monster is far more compelling than the "cement powder, 110-stories-of-exposives" BS we're being subjected to here... I really do enjoy reading this stuff for entertainment value, though. They go round and round in circles without proving anything. The more you reply the more you are subjecting yourself to it. I am not holding your mouse hand and making you click to reply. I was not trying to turn this thread into a farce, which by now it clearly seems that way. So maybe just move along to another thread. Or hit that ignore button to stop subjecting yourself to this agonizing pain you seem to be in. Can you read? I just said I find it immensely entertaining, not painful. Keep it up! My money's still on professor plum in the library.
  21. Yes...there is those. Now if we'dall start acting like the catholics circa 1100 we'd be on par with present day muslims!
  22. Lats I checked the Phillipines were not in the western world. haha. lefties are so obsessed with controlling society they don't even realize that measuring the success of a capitalist nation doesn't require the same nanny-state measures that they usually rely upon. USA GDP per capita 2005: $43000 Canada GDP Per Capita 2005: 32000 nuff said.
  23. Where did you get that quote from? PJ O'ourke - i believe it's from "a parlaiment of whores" but not sure.
  24. The US is capitalist and socialist. Here is a quote from wikipedia: The if the US is the 'greatest example of capitalism in the world' then at least part of the success is a result of integrating socialist principles into the culture. You cannot separate one from the other. my goodness a lesson in "mixed economies" from the smarty kid on the left! we all know the US has social programs. it is still the greatest example of capitalism in the western world.

Find out who was in charge of security for WTC yet? ahhh - the smoking gun. a Bush sat on the board of a security company. do you have any idea what boards of directors do? so what are you proposing happened EXACTLY?
