  1. My thoughts: Quite a spectacle last night. Historic from the African-American standpoint. Seeing Oprah and Jesse Jackson in tears was moving. And I think they're both twits so that's a reach for me. Obama's speech was full of hope and uplifting. McCain's was down to earth, humble and realistic. Actually, a perfect contrast was made and the two speeches held up to one another showed a stark difference between what Republicans want out of government and what Dems do: Republicans want a Servant, Dems a Saviour. It's why Dems almost always win the debates. Because when asked what they're "going to do" about a particular issue, the Dems always have a long laundry list of expensive programs at the ready. The republicans, more or less, say "um...ahem...don't you mean what are YOU going to do? I'm not going to do anything to you." haha. I actually saw reams of college kids and liberals with their hands pressed together in "prayer" as Obama spoke. On the one hand, the hope they had in their eyes was inspiring. On the other, it was tragic. Because all of these people are going to have to go back to their lives. Obama will not save them. Now that the left wingnuts finally have their way, I think even they will be in despair at what government can and cannot do. So what next? Even more government? When Obama isn't enough, do they opt for Castro? Anyway, a great historic night. For the spectacle. Now everyone can go back to the ghetto and stop blaming the "rich white oil man" for their pathetic plight.
  2. Totally sour grapes indeed. I won't be alone. This clip sums up the entire "Obama" phenomenon in one succinct interview.
  3. So much for "change we can believe in". I'm gonna love watching the good ship Obamatron try in futility to live up to it's much touted bullshit for 4 years. this is gonna be better than "read my lips".
  4. After the failed experiments in Canada and Europe - not to mention the collapse of the entire Soviet network and the rapid right wing movement of "communist" China, I can't even believe we're having this conversation about the country seen as the leader of the free-enterprise world. This man is a hard core Ideologue of more than 20 years that has used his accidental good fortune of a financial crisis and societal war fatigue (of a war we're winning, by the way) to parlay into quite possibly the worst form of left wing drift ever seen in the history of the great USA. Freaking scary.
  5. Golly. So much for "Change You Can Believe In", I guess. Wow. this honeymoon is over before it began.
  6. With Obama's history working with ACORN's thuggery, I think that would be a fair statement, yes. Black Panthers spotted intimidating people at polling stations in Philly already Love where this administration is going already. Sheep's clothing already off...
  7. That's because the mainstream media found it more important to assign entire reams of reporters to investigate "troopergate" and Palin's wardrobe costs. Meantime the issue that Obama attended a racist america hating church for 20 years and launched his political career in a terrorist's living room isn't "newsworthy".
  8. Uh oh. Here it comes. The expectations of the great messiah are already being curtailed! Can you say over promise and under deliver?
  9. Good accidental observation! The interesting side effect of the Palin selection was how it shone the spotlight on the idea of having a resume filled with experience. Every time someone mentions Palin's experience and "lack of qualifications", the GOP can see your Palin and raise you an Obama.
  10. I remember another historical figure with great "stage charisma" and gave great speeches: Adolf Hitler You're missing it BCC. Right wing people call Obama "The Messiah" sarcastically. Lefties believe government is "The" answer. The term messiah eloquently and sarcastically encompasses a figure without much substance who is here to solve everone's problems if everyone would just "believe". In other words, a perfect liberal big government "saviour". Get it?
  11. Oh? When's the last time the USA swung left of the rest of the G8?
  12. That's a perfect word to describe the LA Times' refusal to release the video due to "source" issues? Why not let us all judge for ourselves?
  13. Yea. kinda like that. Great analogy. Finally someone on the left has equated Obama with Palin. Thank you.
  14. You know. I find it completely incredible that people could watch videos like this, and be so ideologically, completely decided as not to even question what they are witnessing. Can you IMAGINE if McCain had attended the church of a Klan grand dragon for 20 years? Imagine people saying "oh you're just biased", don't get so uptight. All he did was attend a Klan church for two decades. This guy gets a teflon pass on everything. I think if it wasn't for pure frothing at the mouth panic desire to get rid of the republicans, this guy doesn't stand the smell test. People are just glad he's popular and can win, not even caring about who they're electing. It's like Heath Ledger taking 10 sleeping pills after a coke binge. Seemed like agood idea, but not a good idea after all.
  15. That's freaking hilarious. And so true. Very strange - the rest of the G7 is going right, and America going left.
  16. It's always easier to be better than someone else when you're a socialist. Hey! Just strap on an ideology and harp on and on about how you CARE more than the evil republicans. After all, you're willing to take other people's money and give it away to people. It does, however, get a bit messy when it involves your OWN money. Interesting case study in left wing politics. Easy to take. Not so easy to give. Unless of course you're Sarah Palin versus Joe Biden.
  17. Let's talk about Khalidi shal we? Oh wait. The LA Times won't release the video of Barack at the anti-Israel rally. The Israel he claims to support. Liar? or Hidden Agenda? You decide.
  18. Oh really? How would that work exactly? News Editor: "Hey reporters. Wee need you down come back down here to the lower 48 to investigate this Joe the Plumber guy, he's been causing our guy, Obama, some trouble down here." Reporter: "But I'm almost done wrapping up the "Sarah Palin Librarian investigation" and was about to move on to the "Sarah Palin wardrobe debacle"" (token conservative reporter) "Ahem, hey guys, what about this whole Obama launched his political career in a terrorist's living room or spent twenty years attending a racist church?" News Editor: "That's not news! Everyone's got a few minor flaws. Now let's start diggin into this whole "Sarah Palin's bear rug" piece a little deeper.: No. He'll just meet without precondition with Ahmedinejad, the man who WANTS to nuke Israel. But not to worry, as per his most commonly used phrase, when the press quizzes Barack while showing clips of a post-nuclear Israel, I'm sure Barack will respond as per usual: "This isn't the Ahmedinejad I knew."
  19. Interesting! A very republican sentiment, I suggest. ...and given the above wise words one should consider your sentiments prior to electing a man who's hell bent on "helping" these "poor" people with YOUR tax dollars.
  20. This kind of character scrutinizationshould have been dnoe months ago. It's too late now. Too late for McCain and too late for the American people. Too late for Israel. Frightening.
  21. Exactly. Excellent post August. This is a microcosm of Obama's dreamer mentality of inaccuracies and feel good speeches. In fact, the Berlin fell because of the hardline don't back down don't listen to your detractors - in other words, BUSH style determination - of one man: Ronald Reagan. It's borderline stupidity for this guy to stand up in front of 100's of thousands of germans and claim that the appeasment white flag policies that he stands for will work better than the actuall hardline stance that toppled the wall in the real world. What a self absorbed twit. If you thought Bush's era was comedy, just wait for the next 4 years of a President who's hot to chase failed and dated euro policies.
  22. An answer to your "serious" question. Listen and tell me how this man, Ronald Reagan, agrees with Obama on this issue? reagan talking about government - Obama's best friend
  23. Obama's rhetoric deserves an equal counterpart. For those who think Obama isn't a socialist appeaser, let's look at a worthy adversary who would have absolutely destroyed Obama in a debate. Too bad the American's don't have a clear choice: Link
  24. Listen to the youtube video. Obama think's it was a mistake not to entrech "active" rights (ie. to health care, housing etc. - ie socialist ideals) in the constitution, so it's too late to use the judiciary system to entrench these ideals - we should instead use the legislative system. A fundamental diference between american - ie. free enterprise ideals - and socialst / Canadian / euro ideals is the concept of "negative" verus "positive" or "active" rights. Americans and free enterprisers agree and espouse "negative" rights - ie the right to be left alone and free to act. Canadians and other socialists, including Obama in this video, espouse "positive" or "active" rights, meaning an obligation on the part of government to provide people with certain basic things they have a "right" to. That's socialism. You're comparing Obama to Reagan? What a joke. To Reagan, government was the problem. To Obama, it's the solution.
