I enjoyed today when the CBC immediately skewered the chief of defense staff for answering questions about sexual harassment in the military in what i thought was a very honest fashion. Just scummy journalism. He said in some ways the harassment was due to 'biological wiring', of course what he meant was when men and women work closely together some men will take advantage if given the opportunity, which ah, is pretty normal. Still not good, still wrong, still something that needs to be worked on, but is more of a societal/biological issue than just a military issue. It happens everywhere to some degree, perhaps its worse in the military environment, but it's pretty clear he didn't intend to say that it can't be helped, or boys will be boys, etc. But the garbage journalists at the cbc sure didn't mind framing it that way, as no doubt the dedicated watchers among us will surely be happy they did

O but now that the conservatives are in power, we need change, it's all so pathetic. Also, mandatory voting? Im really not even against the idea, but is that even constitutional? Anyway, can you imagine the cries of fascism etc, if the conservatives were trying to completely change the system to one that favored them while forcing people to vote? I've heard this situation referred to as culturicide recently, maybe that's what it should be, a new word to describe this horrible situation. But, that wont be allowed to happen, because the real goal here is to inflate the seriousness of what happened while reducing the seriousness of what the word was first coined to describe.

Im not sure that anyone has said that, people, even on subjects like this, will lie for personal gain, some will even 'lie' by being conditioned to believe something that didn't happen. However, i don't doubt that the vast majority, as in so many as that it makes the minority irrelevant, are telling what they believe to be the truth, it still doesn't make it genocide, but this did happen.
