  1. Remember that the attacks we're a direct result of mostly Western countries and Russia mucking about in the Middle East. If we just don't do any of that, none of this happens. Pretty easy to declare absolutes after the fact isn't it?
  2. Yes, and if I can travel back in time I could stab Hitler in the heart and save Europe before he ascended to become the Chancellor of Germany. Unfortunately the plans for my time travel machine have been coming along very slowly. Hindsight is always 20/20 Argus.
  3. I have no plans on ever going to the middle east where the heads are rolling. I dare anyone to try and come to my door step and attempt any such thing. With or without action in the middle east, that just aint gonna happen.
  4. Not all Military action is pointless, wasteful and solves nothing. Just the ones involving anything to do with the Middle East.
  5. hahaha I can assure you bush that I will not be voting for Trudeau nor will anyone be beheading me.... hahaha Alarmist much?
  6. You speak like every single crazy Islamist will die there, which I can assure you will not be the case. In fact I believe that all we are doing is creating more crazy Islamists. And once we leave, a new group will rise out of the ashes of the old ones and rinse, lather, repeat.
  7. I think you've just summed up every War for the entirety of the Human Race. Except WWII.
  8. I'm surprised anyone in the country even thinks there is any probability of success in any combat mission in the middle east, given the track records of everyone else who has tried and failed. The middle east is like the Hydra. Chop off one head and two more pop up. It's insane to just keep throwing money and bodies at a conflict with such little chance of success.
  9. This. Completely different conflicts. Go back in time and I support most military action in WWI and WWII, completely different reason for these conflicts to escalate the way they did. Iraq is a knee jerk reaction, to a knee jerk reaction that was unfounded in every way. I can confidently say that without involvement in WWII the world may be a very different place most positively for the worse. Without the original involvement in Iraq the world might easily be a better place especially in that region.
  10. I love when he checks Perry in the neutral zone and Kesler and Maroon both come up to him to challenge and he just grabs each of them, one in each hand likes he's going to pull a three stooges and smash them together. Lucky for them the refs stepped in. For the last few years the Bruins have been considered the tougher team in the league but I think Winnipeg has risen to become that team lead by Big Buff, Kane (who Mr. though guy Lucic has backed down to fighting twice this year.), Zach Bogosian, Thorburn, Tony Peluso (arguably one of the best fighters in the league), Trouba, Ladd, Wheeler, Lowry. Very few players on the Jets will back down from a fight. All we need to really make a push this year is a solid 3rd line RW, preferably one with Center experience. A good faceoff specialist would really help out our penalty kill, as we take the most penalties in the league. As an armchair GM I'd be going after someone like Antoine Vermette considering Arizona is rumoured to be having a fire sale this year. Many other names pop up, but to me Vermette is obtainable and most likely available.
  11. Well now that we all agree that the leafs suck. Can we change the thread title to "Hey let's talk about the Jets"? The boys in blue are riding a 5 game win streak into the allstar break, beat Chicago in Chicago 3 times this year, beat the defending Stanley Cup champions in their own house and took the Ducks to overtime the very next night. Hutch the Clutch has been phenomenal between the pipes this year posting up currently the 2nd best GAA at 1.90 and LEAGUE LEADING .935 save percentage with a 14-4-2 record in his rookie season, this kid should be in the Calder running with Forsberg!! Big buff has been an absolute blueline boss since moving back to defence, and would without a doubt be in contention for the Norris at this point in the season if he had been there from the start. Not to mention when 4 of our top 6 defencemen went down about 1/4 of the way into the season Buff held together a rag tag group of AHL call ups, while the Jets still managed to keep their wildcard spot. This all from a team who at the beginning of the season was said to be in contention for the McDavid sweepstakes. Now after the all-star break with Perreault returning from the Injury list and a 100% healthy team, the Jets looks to build on their 5 game win streak against the Penguins in Pittsburgh who will be missing Crosby and Malkin for their apparant "injuries" before the all star game, surprise surprise. Whats a season it's been for the Jets so far.
  12. "Treat others as you would want them to treat you, and can reasonably expect them to want to be treated. Think about their perspective." I think it's safe to assume this applies to murder and theft, unless of course you want people to steal your things and you want to die?
  13. The target that was set to open where I am currently working was a Zellers, the Zellars sold off every single piece of it's merchandise for incredibly low prices (I got a matching sofa and loveseat set for $50) before the target was set to even put their new sign up. Unfortunately the sign was all that was seen of Target around here..
  14. I think that's our problem right there. Let's write our own Declaration of Independence from the Queen and a write a new constitution come on guys it'll be fun! In said Constitution the Governor General would be elected, four 4 year terms and handle matters of international importance. The PM's party would be elected by PR or FPTP for 4 years and handle matters of domestic importance and we can do away with the Senate while were at it. The Federal Constitutional Parliamentary Republic of Canada.
  15. Truth, the leafs are the richest Canadian sports team, and the richest NHL team. Toronto in the Stanley Cup finals would rake in more money than the league could even imagine. Way more than any LA, NY, Chicago teams could ever hope to bring in.
  16. Leafs fans are salivating for Babcock but I honestly think there is no way he leaves what he has helped build in Detroit quite yet. Even when people think Detroit is out they are in. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to be a coach in Toronto, or a player, or fan. What a thankless job. Then again there's Edmonton.. Babcock stays put in Detroit after they make the playoffs again this year for the 23rd straight season. Babcock is typically considered to be at the $2 mill mark, considering Quenneville is at the $2.75 mil mark and he's the highest paid in the league. Babock is making great money.
  17. Then the OP attempted to call out numerous posters, including myself, for doing exactly what they did in the original post. The OP's attempt at a cheap shot at me and the other posters they listed has obviously failed. I proved my point. So I'll move on.
  18. Regardless of if those voters had voted conservative it is still less than 25% of eligible voters. Not sure what you don't understand about that. No one is arguing that the Conservatives did not garner 39.6% of the votes of those whom voted.
  19. Actual voters and eligible voters are two completely different things.. it's not a hard concept really.
  20. Looks like I remember right, which shouldn't surprise you by now.
  21. Actually if I remember correctly wasn't it under 25% of eligible voters?
  22. When we come up with new things whether it be in technology, science, world views, sports, politics, business and industry. It's to make these things work better, faster, more efficiently or to be fair to everyone using them. It makes sense that if anyone has an advantage with the old way they would be reluctant for change but like the old fogies who refused to use computers 10 years ago, after they embrace the change they may find it makes their lives easier. Work smarter, not harder.
  23. I think this article sums up FPTP vs PR pretty nicely. HERE FTPT PR
  24. You still made the thread about Israel while addressing it. Which does not surprise anyone.
