  1. A question for anyone here; Ok, so if people haven't made up their minds - that's great. Like me, I can see that everyone is at least leaning in a certain direction. there's lots of speculation, but little facts so...What "fact" would make you swing completely to the other side? For me, If it became "fact" that Mike Brown took those 4 arm wounds with his back turned, I'd want this cop jailed for a good long time.
  2. I'm not! You're barely putting up a strong argument lately. You're getting beat, and simply tossing out cliches. " I'm far too intelligent to do that." " I need more intelligent conversation here." There's that elitist arrogance again
  3. I've been watching you get dismantled for a few days now, no need for me to pile on. I'll wait my turn.
  4. Fair enough, I just thought it'd be better to argue 2 different things in 2 different threads. I'm not married to the idea so....
  5. Helping young families who don't care to be caught in the middle of this crap. The teachers are just furious because the government released some of their hostages.
  6. For an "intelligent" woman, she seems to guess wrong quite often.
  7. Maybe start a new thread. These things are not related.
  8. I used the term "you guys" to speak to the group that has already cast Wilson as a racist and a murderer who shot a child with his hands up. A story from a bad witness that is now getting so debunked that it could derail the prosecution. I assumed from your posting history that you had a particular bias.
  9. What we do know is that the star witness has already started "modifying" his story a great deal. No, I don't think you'll express an opinion - you're not that type of poster. You're a drive-by and toss in a one liner type of poster.
  10. I think that what we see here is a ridiculous level of what is considered "harm or harm's way". The easy answers can be found in the Norway thread and in nearly all Wilson/Brown threads. Angel Dust,PCP, HIV, Needles...Yes, every time a cop takes down a suspect, there is a crowd that say's "well, he didn't have a gun but if he was on PCP...". Essentially, we've allowed the police and their lawyers to manipulate us into believing that their lives are in danger every time they stop a person. As I said before - the abuse excuse. I was afraid for my safety- so I shot him.
  11. I'm forming an opinion (an opinion that actually, has changed), which is a lot less than the knee-jerk reaction of the "hands up" crowd. Most of the anti-cop/anti-Wilson group made the mistake of jumping in with both feet and are now tied to their position.
  12. But, you guys will convict this cop based on the ever changing story of a petty criminal. Just because somebody unconnected to the case posted fake X-rays, doesn't mean the cop is guilty. I'm waiting for the facts; the ballistics, the forensics and the witnesses. And, I'm pretty sure that will prove Wilson's side of the story.
  13. Broken orbital bone, hands up...yeah, some facts turn out to be bunk. As I said, my stance is usually against the police and for the "victim", but there is too much inconsistency from the Brown side and I'm certainly leaning toward the cop. It seems the witnesses might have tried to back-up Dorian Johnson and he seems to have stretched the truth.
  14. Dude, I feel for you! You story could easily be mine with one exception. On the last day, the nurse came in and told me and my father of procedures they could do to extend things, a couple days - maybe a week, but they wouldn't be comfortable. My dad looked at me - struggled for words and just said "no more". I told the nurses to just stop everything. I called in the family, they visited and went home - he died a several hours later. I sat counting down his breaths per minute until it was over, my mom showed up and seemed genuinely shocked. I believe that people should have a choice on how and when. What scares me is that legally it can become a slippery slope such as we're seeing in Europe. I like it better as a don't ask, don't tell rule.
  15. The right wings are waiting for the facts The left wings don't need facts - just emotion
  16. The thing that concerns me about this woman is that her story came out after the autopsy. I think this is why releasing sensitive information like that is dangerous.
  17. Was this intended to be funny? I haven't belly rolled like this in a long time - thanks for that!
  18. I don't know what people were saying about the X-ray, but I thought it was assumed that it was an example X-ray.
  19. I hate giving personal info but, I did that exact thing. Walking down the road, stopped for ID - gave the "not doing anything wrong, what are the charges" routine and walked by, felt a hand on my shoulder, shrugged it off and before I knew it I was on the ground in cuffs - spent the night in jail - no charges thankfully. Anyway, there is a charge of "obstruction of a peace officer" that is simply for non compliance, which they'd be justified to give you for the actions that you described.
  20. Nobody's crying anything - not me anyway! You wanna be treated with ree-spect, act respectful. It's like I tell my kids, you wanna be treated like a grown-up, act like a grown-up. You wanna be treated like an equal, act like an equal. In most cases, people get treated exactly like the act.
  21. But, are you gonna get in his face and tell about your rights and how he should go catch the real criminals that you're paying him to catch? Chances are, he asks you to sit in his car or best case, you stand in front of his car while he gets on his computer and checks you out - either way, he's gonna get the info that he wants.
  22. I'd love to see that!
  23. Oh, I do understand. What I also understand is that these interactions are also addressed poorly on behalf of the people. You guys are suggesting that it's Ok to be rude and obstinate to any cop who asks for the simplest things. These actions always come with consequences, freedom and rights don't mean consequence free actions. You must also understand that cops go through every day with these punks teenage guys telling them to F-off. So, lets not pretend that It's all one sided.
  24. I don't disagree with that sentiment, but the fact remains; you just can't do that and expect that the cop to just meekly get on his way. That's simply not what they're trained to do. When they ask you to move, you move or they'll move you. When they ask you to get out of your car, you get out or they'll get you out. If they want to see your ID, they'll see your ID. These aren't your parents, friends or your boss, they're police and getting in their face to explain "your rights" doesn't usually end well.
