Well, common sense would say that if the police force was that bad that they'd feel a need to disband, then they'd all/or most all have some sort of complaint or discipline action. Darren Wilson had none such action against him...that we know of. I'm sure that if he was involved in any misgivings in his prior posting, we'll soon hear. Until then, it's just some half assed "investigative reporter" thinking he's onto something big.

9 Year Old Shooting Uzi
Hal 9000 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm not missing any point. Look, I'm not a gun nut, but the reality is; shooting guns is a recreation - my kids and most kids love it. The issue is how do we make the business safer for those taking part. And...I think you're wrong Derek. Guns are big business, I just dropped about 600$ at MGV. It wouldn't be an issue for them to clip on a safety tether for the young kids. In fact; I watched one adult dude who had the Instructor and a buddy pushing on his back to try and keep stable while he shot some ungodly huge weapon. I believe that regulations like that will come into effect on recreational (gun store, MGV types) shooting facilities. -

How about a river rafting company that that doesn't use lifejackets, a shark diving company that uses inadequate cages, an amusement ride that is not fastened with proper bolts etc etc. In this situation, had a tether been on the gun (and I believe that they should for children), the day would've been a lot of fun instead of a horrible disaster. -
“My impression is he didn’t go above and beyond, and he didn’t get in any trouble,” Fuesting said. He said of the department during its difficult period: “There was a disconnect between the community and the police department. There were just too many instances of police tactics which put the credibility of the police department in jeopardy. Complaints against officers. There was a communication breakdown between the police and the community. There were allegations involving use of force that raised questions.” Robert Orr, the former Jennings police chief who retired in 2010, said of Wilson: “He was a good officer with us. There was no disciplinary action.” What i'm reading is that the police force was so over wrought with problems and complaints that the city had to fire the entire police force, yet Wilson never got into any trouble and never had any disciplinary actions against him. Weird!

It's not a "gun issue" really, I find that it's a workplace safety issue. I'm afraid that it'll become politicized though and all the anti-gun people will force an over-reation. -

That girl is very good and has obviously been well trained - good to see! These burger and an Uzi joints are not training facilities - much like the "Gun Store", they are amusements. -

I agree that 9YO is too young for fully automatic weapons, my kids were 13 when they first fired a fully auto machine gun and I was pretty nervous. The instructor should've been right behind her - supporting her. Or at least do like the carnivals do and have a cable on the gun so it can only fire in a certain direction and can't recoil and get away from the user. -
3 seconds!

The dude doing the recording sounds like the "silence of the lambs" dude.

Well, If amount of shots matter than it makes prefect sense that cops should target the chest area first and make sure that the guy goes down with one bullet. If I was the defence, I would certainly use the 6 shots to convey just how determined Brown was to get at Wilson. Me, if I was shot even once in the arm, I'd drop flat to the ground like a pancake.
-
Not in this case!
-
Does it really matter from a fundamental point of view whether he was shot 6 times or just once in the head? Harping about being shot 6 times is just rallying stuff for Sharpton, Jackson and the panthers. In fact, being shot 6 times supports the cop's story of how the guy just wouldn't stop or go down.
-
If he wasn't in the process on getting indicted, then I'd agree with you. The guy deserves to defend himself, and tossing all the evidence out in public and allow the race baiters to skew the grand jury just makes things worse. Despite what people want to know, releasing information this soon is not good for anybody.
-
Because it's not about you. The cop is now a defendant and defence feel that trying their case in court is better than throwing it out to a lynch mob to decide. If he wasn't a defendant, we'd know a lot more. It's pretty foolish to think that the defence is gonna release all the evidence to the public before a grand jury hears it.
-
He wasn't shot for robbing a store, why not wait and see why he was shot before condemning the cop.
-
Oh OK, so when you say ...Quoting for truth. The "the n***er had it coming!", you're not really quoting anybody and you're not really truthful either - Ironic!

Easy, she obviously has no idea what she's talking about. You can let her of hook now. -
Who are you quoting with that?
-
I don't even know where the rumour came from, so i'm not really jumping too much on that issue. I have my doubts that there is a smear campaign for the simple reason that they'll have to prove every detail. I'm more interested on whether Browns dna or prints are on the gun.
-
I didn't...and, if it isn't - so what!
-
Well, some perps do need shooting.
-
If his orbital bone is broken, were all quite prepared for the obligatory "his buddy did it in the hospital parking lot" routine.
-
Well, yeah in some ways there are. It's also a cops job to literally chase down criminals. You can't ask them to do what they do and then charge them for doing what protocol has taught them to do. The cop stopped just as he should've, an altercation happened and the suspect ran, the cop chased as protocol demands, he felt threatened and when he started shooting, he shot until the suspect was on the ground. All the protocol was followed. The only question is whether the perp was coming towards him or not.
-
Be that as it may! The felon still didn't have a gun either. I would consider it over the line of acceptability. In that situation, I would hope that the cop calls in back-up and just picks the suspect up at a later time. He wouldn't have been hard to track down.
