  1. To see if you knew - obviously! And...now you know!
  2. Maybe you should ask her again.
  3. No, it was because the teachers refused to supervise kids on the playgrounds and during lunch/recess. The schools had to have the administrators and staff (CUPE) do it. But, I'm sure you knew that!
  4. That's right, If man knocks up a woman, he has to be accountable. If a woman get's knocked up, no accountability required.
  5. I guess i'm just getting used to responding to Socialist.
  6. Same reason you don't get a pay check at the end of every work day - I assume.
  7. Parents don't, only women do!
  8. Fair enough. You're apparent dislike for the government's handling led me to believe you were on the teachers side.
  9. So, you're fine blindly supporting the teachers - even though you have zero knowledge of what they're asking? WoW! I'm sure the BCTF really appreciates that. Now, I'd like the teachers to come out and actually say "we want X amount of new teachers and a ?% raise", then I can judge wether it's fair or not - but that's me. When the asking party won't tell what they want, there's usually a pretty good reason.
  10. Maybe the BCTF should come out and tell people what their demands are. I just can't blindly support what i'm not being told.
  11. Well, i think the teachers should get a small "cost of living" raise due to inflation, but usually bigger raises are tied to performance - and since teachers don't want to have anything close to a review of their performance any raise should directly correlate with inflation.
  12. I don't know that the teachers have ever willfully settled on a deal - with anybody!
  13. Especially his son right?
  14. How is it working for the americans after they elected an inexperienced guy president based on one wedge issue - that he still couldn't swing. There's a lot more to governing than legalizing pot. Do people really still go to jail over weed? I don't know anybody and i know a lot of smokers. And yes, If economy is good - everything is good, if economy is bad, everything suffers - and all the promises and tax increases don't work.
  15. So, if what you say is true, simply throwing more money at schooling doesn't necessarily mean better education...Hmmm.
  16. looks like talks are off!
  17. Yeah, we're a regular third world country over here! Why don't you give it a rest. You looked at that money per child graph and decided that Manitoba has it made - that's all you know!
  18. You know, your posts are just so delusional that I'm starting to think maybe you are a teacher.
  19. Wow! are you sure? by my math , and I could be out by a million or 2, but you want to increase the amount of teachers by 40%! That's another 16,000 teaching jobs. OK, so that equals a whopping $1.3 Billion per year (6.4b for a 5 year deal)- just for those new teachers! Add in the raise that the current teachers want and that's another $300m (1.5b for a 5 year deal) add in the $3billion per year that we already pay them (15b for 5 year deal) . That's a $23 billion dollar deal up from $15b that we currently pay. That's about a 50% increase into schooling! Of course, my math is a little rough. Oh, let's not forget about benefits.
  20. A question for you; how many student on average are in each classroom and what number should it get down to?
  21. Yeah, you can't really use this chart without considering population growth and decline. It's funny that the BCTF sends out these idiotic charts without context with tags saying "The numbers tell the story" - Very amateur!
  22. What this says is the northern provinces pay a crapload to keep the territory kids in school. Probably many small schools with fewer students, busses, more special needs, higher paid teachers because of remoteness etc. Nothing I would't expect in that graph. As far as all the other provinces, we're within couple hundred bucks. Careful of getting manipulated by the BCTF.
  23. This reinforces my stance that we need to get the special needs teachers back.
  24. If you could itemize these expenditures, it sure would help.
