So, will we go through this routine with every new aircraft? I mean, at some point you're all gonna have to accept that women in flight is not new, it's just a new plane.
-
I get it now, sorta like when a man gets a job as a nurse or school teacher.
-
There is nothing a woman can do that a man can't do just as well.
-
If you'd explain the "milestone" reached, then maybe more of us would see it the same way as you.

Put your hands together for Elizabeth May!

Just watched it! WoW! That was bad. Some of it, she'd actually wrote. -
In my experience, most women want to at least try it once. Strangely, a couple who are not serious or even strangers have a better chance of reaching this stage than married people. Why? The problem is getting her head around the next day issues. She will wonder what you think of her, what she thinks of herself and if she can look you in the eyes afterward - and vice versa. This is after all, the person you love and will spend the rest of your life with. The first thing you can try is role playing. As was mentioned in an earlier post, it's about the mind for women, and as long as she can make it okay that it's not really her - its a role, it becomes easier to expand into the taboo areas of the bedroom - I recommend "strangers on a train", "Bad guard, naughty inmate" or "Davie girl". Now, the above isn't for everyone and because you have a loving relationship, you must show her that you're there for her needs as much as your own. Here is where you setup a tantric massage session. Wine, candles, lots of oils and a deep massage of ALL her lady bits should show her how much you care about her experience. You'll already be down there massaging that specific region - and she'll begin relaxing. Start with the massage and slowly a finger and gradually break down the barriers to smaller increments. Then start rubbing her button with your penis...and see what happens. She'll be more receptive if she doesn't have to make eye contact. In the unlikely case that she doesn't trust how gentle you'll be with her, suggest that she she go on top and control the pace - remember, this is about her enjoyment too and if she enjoys it, it's a win/win. If this isn't working you must go immediately to plan B...."I slipped, my bad"

I think WCR really is done this time.

We were talking about F1, now your trying to inject something that was never said, never even suggested.
-
First off, if another woman gets an F1 ride, she won't be the first - that's kinda the point. Secondly, when it comes to racing - especially F1, the drivers must compete on equal footing for their job - affirmative action shouldn't and won't factor in. If a woman ever gets a ride in F1, I'll cheer her on.

Look, this pilot flew the US's new toy - great! I hope she kills many a terrorist with it and returns home safely. Is it newsworthy? I guess, in the same sense that anything to do with the new jets and the pilots flying them makes news - be it Israelis, Brits, US men and women. But, if you're talking (and you always are) about oppression, gender equality, barriers and women's firsts - you're way too late on this one.
-
Give it a rest, you're not defending women's rights. You think we should all be falling over the accomplishments of a military pilot for the simple reason that she's a woman. All we're saying is that women flying jets is nothing new, and you can't handle that. What is new that we should be celebrating? In 1944 Ann Baumgartner became the first U.S. woman to fly an experimental jet airplane. She reached speeds of 350 mph and altitudes up to 35,000 feet. 1953 Jacqueline Cochran (USA) became the first woman to break the sound barrier (in a Northrop T-38).

It's fine that she was rewarded for her hard work, but you do know how the Academy works, don't you? I'm interested in the first woman to climb Everest or the K2, swim the english channel, fly a plane etc. I think it's amazing what some women did back in the day. The woman in question, I applaud for flying a military jet, not for being a woman flying a military jet.
-
I consider that an insult.
-
Yes, the Oscars are all tainted. Nothing is won, it's all just given. It's politics...worse than figure skating.
-
Hurt locker was ok, but I don't put too much credence into what the "academy" does. The academy seems to feel that they will manipulate society with their choices. Halle Barry and Denzel won when blacks needed to win, Michael Moore, Sean Penn for Milk, anyone who goes "half retard". Academy awards can be predicted by knowing what hollywood deems society needs at that particular moment. Hurt Locker was decent, but cliche and predictable. Female director and a left leaning plot = Victory for women's rights. To be fair, Avatar was a dreadful retelling of Dances with wolves, ferngully, last samurai and many others. Inglorious Basterds was not Tarantino's best work either. Up in the air could've stole the award, but that year was Bigelow's year - good on her, but the academy was never gonna let her lose.
-
...as usual!
-
It's not that at all. How long do we have to wait before recognizing an achievement for what it is, without adding "for a woman" or "for women's rights". "I'm proud of my daughter for getting a drivers licence" sounds fine. "I'm proud of my daughter for getting a drivers license, because she's a woman and women couldn't vote 100 years ago" sounds kinda weird.

I don't care about history too much, but i'm white and have been discriminated against for being white, and for being a man. Ive been discriminated against as a teenager, now as someone who is older. just saying', we're all discriminated against.
-
Everyone suffers discrimination, even white men, sometimes especially white males.
-
Have you heard even one person suggest that this woman should not be flying this aircraft?
-
It sounds like your leaning towards Khadr simply being a victim and responding in self defence.
-
But, i think we all agree that he killed a solider and considered himself an enemy of the US. If he's not a terrorist and not a murderer as Cybercoma pointed out, then he's a solider - an enemy solider. and, therefore should be treated as such.
-
Yes, and when you capture an enemy, don't set him free. Khadr should've been executed.
-
Because it's pretty obvious what she's going for. If I Khadr is a murderer, then all the Americans are murderers too. If the Americans are soldiers, then Khadr is merely a solider too.

As I said some 40 posts ago, Im as happy for her as I would be any pilot that is able to fly one of those jets - men included.
