  1. The Harper government is onside with keeping it going because it's their ideology to punish him because he's a Muslim. But there's also the blackmail threat from the US that's not being ignored as it should be. Here's a test of the riculous level on which this needs to be placed. Just imagine how US military murderers are treated who are actually caught on camera slaughtering injured and dying Muslims. They walk and they've been walking ever since Calley walked for his crimes against humanity.
  2. This isn't about me, unless you are trying to get into the personal attack business. I'll watch for that.
  3. You're missing most of what you wrote so be careful you don't take it to the next level or I'll be reporting it for what it really is. I don't think there's any need for that on this forum.
  4. Yeah, yeah, I know that none of the states are part of the US when it's inconvenient to be so. It's like the US isn't bringing back the electric chair to kill their own people because it's a state doing it. What comes next, Alabama bombing Venezuela?
  5. Reads like a porn novel but I'm sure that's not your intent.
  6. Right, it's about gunrunning and not about Hillary Clinton after all. WEll I don't have any interest in that because it's just standard practice in the US anyway. And besides, it's a part of the rabid right's agenda whenever it's not being done by the left or Obama.
  7. Very well stated but beware of the counter spin they're going to try to use. So before they do, I'll just state once again that overall taxation is roughly equal in both countries.
  8. So you're not going to tell us what all this is really about? Maybe it's time to wrap it up and put it to bed before Issa makes a bigger fool of himself? We'll be interested in hearing from you when you make up your mind.
  9. And here's another story from RT that just has to be propaganda right? http://rt.com/news/161044-ukraine-helicopter-checkpoint-attack/ Something that has to be ignored or counterspun maybe? In their lust to kill they send their helicopters after their own military and civilians. Strong like bull, smart like tractor!
  10. We always prefer to take an humanitarian position but I question whether it's worth the cost when it comes to Americans. The political and economic blackmail we suffer from rattling their cage just isn't worth it anymore. They have created their own problems within their society and it's up to them to try to fix it. They express little concern over doing that. What can anyone think when re read of them bringing back the electric chair to kill their people?
  11. I would suggest that you need to factor in Vancouver city's surcharge first before making any comparisons. I don't know for sure but other big cities could be doing the same thing. And then, besides that you need to take taxes into consideration because we tax gasoline to provide social services the US goes without. (taxation overall remains about on par) (before any US apologists go off) Beware of CTV news, the owners of that station hate Canada's social policies and make up stories to discredit us. Their original story most likely came from the Fraser Institute which has already been totally discredited as a rabid right mouthpiece.
  12. It's difficult not to be quite astounded by the bluster and bravado we read in the OP. It's full of 'knocking off' people in foreign lands for reasons that have little or nothing to do with the US or it's security. It literally rings with the notion that the US is going to police the world with nothing else in mind but to fulfill it's own agenda of priorities. It can because it can send missiles to any place on the face of the earth with impunity. The objections of decent people over this are quite obvious from a humanitarian standpoint alone. The US always leaves more death and destruction in it's path than was ever present before they arrived on the scene. The current issue of saving the kidnapped girls could be seen as problematic for that very reason. But beyond that is the fact that none of this US caused death and destruction will be forgotten by the aggrieved victims. And some will eventually find the means to strike back. In this age of nuclear weapon proliferation, we have great cause to be concerned over that fact. We, the people of Canada who are clearly aligning ourselves with US violence against those other people. It's just as likely that the next big revenge attack could be Toronto or Vancouver as well as New York city. Are we gaining enough by preventing economic blackmail by the US to continue to put ourselves at such imminent risk of a revenge attack? I think it's time for Canada to start considering a sensible and responsible position of neutrality. Unfortunately, that's never going to be a part of Harper's agenda. And that leads to the obvious conclusion that he must be replaced by a government that at least has a record of keeping us out of US led wars.
  13. It appears that this thing is nearly wrapped up now and it's becoming pretty evident that Russia was never interested in expanding into the Ukraine. It also appears that the US/Nato has been stopped in it's tracks and has actually did more harm to their agenda than good. Russia was given the opportunity to let the people of the Crimea express their loyalty toward Russia. However, the US/Nato has scored some points over the whole thing which could have been their objective right from the start. Demonizing Russia (Putin) to the West for future plans of US/Nato expansion. In my own humble opinion, it's caused the division of sides for a new cold war on training wheels. Now the US is going to have to work on expanding it's own sphere of influence as is China/Russia with perhaps India. And Europe's interests may finally dictate that they don't side with the US, however it's not going to be decided for a decade or two to come. Oil wealth will be a big factor and the US most likely won't be able to meet even it's own domestic demands, never mind enticing any other countries.
  14. I'll do the worrying about what people think of me, thank you. I think your biggest issue is that I criticized the US and didn't include criticism of Russia and China. But then you did that and as much as admitted that it happens with both sides, consequently providing the 'proof' you appeared to be so worried about. So in fact, me not providing any 'proof' never was an issue because it's common knowledge according to you.
  15. So is that the real issue now with the rabid right? Gun running? Because your links don't really pursue the issue of trying to damage Hillary Clinton? When you get that all straightened out maybe we can be of help?
  16. The conservative whining has started in earnest so we can expect that some of the Tory politicians will walk right into JT's trap. He doesn't need to say another word about it. As with our cybercoma, they are obsessed with their anti-abortion stand and can't leave it alone. Trouble is, it takes a 'religious right' like the US has to make it work politically and in Canada the religious right is nearly non-existent.
  17. And yes, you can make the same argument for Russia or China vetoing resolutions on Syria. Now let's look at the resolutions to determine if they are resolutions that are consistent with the UN's charter. This will be a chance for you to learn something new.
  18. And I should have also said: My opinions are going to be expressed on this forum regardless of what others think of those opinions. That is not a violation of the rules. If I violate the rules then I expect to hear from those who are acting for this forum in an official capacity. I don't want to hear from anybody who has not prepared themselves for a tough debate.
  19. Oh, I see, you want me to provide factual proof of the US sometimes doesn't get it's ambitions passed through the UNSC with a resolution to go to war. And I'm going to assume that you have stated your complaint on the basis of you being a forum facilitator. Well, my answer to that is NO! If you want to push your weight around in your official capacity then let's have at it. And if you don't want to do that then you can back off and discuss this matter in a sane way with me. And here's something for you to think about in the meantime: Provide me some proof that the US doesn't try to get it's warring ambitions passed through the UNSC. You're out of line and you have overstepped your authority pal. You have no basis on which to demand proof of anything I have to say. Period!
  20. Oh good grief, first it's a complaint that Hillary didn't send in the military and save their lives but now it's something to do with gun running to Syria. The former dies a prolonged death while the latter is just old news for the US and it's CIA. Helping to kill people throughout the world to save them from 'something'? A novel idea though. Blame Clinton for aiding Syrian terrorists. I like it!
  21. To say someone should rot in jail is an extremist position and as Canadians we try to stop short of that even in cases where emotions get the better of common sense. A lot of the problem could be that we are too much in tune with what's happening south of our border where hundreds of thousands 'are' rotting in jail. Social responsibility and rehabilitation are foreign words to them.
  22. You spilt the beans! JT wants abortion on demand and the Canadian people don't care to mess with that. You've just come up with some of the possible changes you would like to see brought about by Harper. And Harper is not unaware of the political position of his followers. In fact, his agenda is basically the same agenda as his followers. So now that you have admitted that you want your politicians to start messing with the abortion laws, tell us specifically how you would like Harper to fix them. Give us your wish list that you can envision if Harper can ever set the stage for turning Canada into something like the mess to our south if he thinks he can get public support for any of it? You people need to begin to start to understand that women don't prefer to have an abortion. When a woman seeks an abortion then you have to just accept that she deems it necessary. And again, your issue has to become on of caring about women enough to show an interest in promoting social responsibility in the citizenry so that abortions will become largely unnecessary. We may never attain a socially perfect society but we surely can reduce the number of abortions that women are asking for. I'm speaking to you on the level as a Canadian and I have no doubt that it's going to go completely over an American's head. That is, most Americans!
  23. If you think that branding a country is the same as stereotyping all the citizens of that country then you live in a different world than I. Maybe you would like to rethink that one? I am 100% of the opinion that nearly all the problems we are having with Muslims can be traced back to US interference in predominantly Muslim countries. It didn't start with 9/11 but it can mostly be traced back to that revenge attack. The UK experienced it too but in that day Muslims didn't have the means to exact revenge and consequently it was largely ignored. And even today the brutality and slaughter of Muslims in the ME is being largely ignored and will be until another incident that makes Americans sit up and take notice. Then the slaughter will start anew again. The question we need to ask ourselves now is, will aggrieved Muslims ever be content with the revenge they are capable of enacting against the US? Could it be that they hold their grudges long enough for them to obtain access to nuclear weapons? And then, will the US strike back at an entire nation again, as opposed to seeking out the guilty parties? Can you put yourself in the shoes of an Iraqi father who lost his children under US bombing? If you can then you may be able to start to understand why they seek revenge.
  24. What answer do you want? I think all the questions have been answered numerous times already. Is it that you don't like the answers given? Which enquiry would you suggest was corrupted and didn't insist on straight answers? We could look into your claims on this forum because we could probably access anything that has been ever said on the issue in the numerous enquiries.
  25. Yes, and JT's challenge goes a long way to ensure it stays that way. But make no mistake, Harper would just love to get into it and save a fetus or two. He just knows that he would take a licking on it. He needs to set the stage, so to speak. Do you think that's not his secret agenda? If you do then you need to ask most conservatives what they are hoping for.
