  1. Based on the posts in this thread I wasn't the only one who couldn't figure out what to debate.
  2. Seriously? This has been debated to death. Nothing new here, just more rants against Asian immigrants.
  3. You have created yet another thread that displays your rants against immigrants. Who on earth do you want allowed into Canada? People like you will soon die off. Thank goodness. We need more immigrants period. Even your op is confusing. What are we debating? The policy itself? Liberals taking credit? Chinese investment?
  4. Oh argus. Quit the drama.
  5. Obviously they haven't gone up enough.
  6. Part of this new policy is to increase the number of international students and tourists. On average Chinese tourists spend 750 a day. Why would you have a problem with this?
  7. If Canada's current immigration rate stays the same, our natural population growth would become negative by 2020. Increased global competition for high skilled workers requires Canada to address this issue so we can fill our labour market needs. If Canada doesn't change our immigration policy with other countries we will be left behind in innovation and entrepreneurship. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/research/global-trends.asp
  8. A great project here in Vancouver: BC's First Commuinity Owned Solar Energy Project http://vancouvercohousing.com/2016/04/05/bcs-first-community-owned-solar-energy-project/
  9. I'm guessing that you and Betsy are more knowledgeable than the top ranking officials?
  10. Everyone knows of the atrocities that take place against women, LGBT, disabled, and men, etc all over the world . You don't need to post endless links. We aren't stupid. We get itBut are your rants simply to have posters here say we are better than everyone else? Is that your agenda?
  11. Not only them. Experts worry Trump's war on American's Democratic Institutions could do long term damage: “This is not just excessive rhetoric, or a bloviating ignoramus who happens to be a presidential candidate and is upset because he can’t understand how possibly he could be losing. This is a real threat to the fabric of the political system and the republic,” said Norman Ornstein, a prominent scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute." "Trump’s critics worry that the Republican presidential nominee is doing long-term damage to the credibility of entities essential to the country’s democratic health. More pressingly, they fear that he is signalling a desire to undermine critical checks and balances in pursuit of autocratic leadership if he wins the presidency in November." “When he’s trying to discredit every single guidepost, every single standard, he’s not just an authoritarian, he’s a postmodern authoritarian: he not only has these authoritarian tendencies, but he really wants to shape reality to his own agenda,” said Charlie Sykes, a conservative Wisconsin talk radio host. “He wants to break down all of these possible credible authorities that might challenge him. And that’s what’s sort of genuinely creepy about him.”
  12. Law? These are kids playing together in a long running summer camp swimming pool based on our Canadian culture. What does law have to do with it?
  13. Of course it's based on religion and culture.
  14. Well I answered your 2 questions No and no in this specific case.
  15. These summer camp kids attending this long running camp are between the ages of 5 and 12. Kids of this age I'm pretty sure could care less if they are playing in a pool with Boys and girls. I see no reason to implement segregated swimming in a long running camp of co-Ed swimming except to appease the parents. In fact, the Muslim community see no reason as well. Again, I suggest this is a knee jerk action that was meant to offer inclusion but obviously has failed. I recall from my summer camp days of wonderful memories swimming with boys and girls and many crushes were part of the experience of summertime fun.
  16. This is a no brainer. Of course they should and I think much more considering the years of training and sacrifice.
  17. I do have a problem with your righteous stance even though I mostly agree with your posts. You are like a mosquito bite as much as Argos and company are.
  18. The problem with your posts bg is that you do assume that people who disagree with your views are racists when that's not the case. I have stepped out of bounds of my personal beliefs and exposed myself to your qualifications of being a racist when I am not. you actually did call everyone who disagreed with you on the swimming pool topic as racist. I am not a racist but I disagreed with the policy that was implemented
  19. If you can't understand the issues that women find with these comments, nothing I can say would matter.
  20. But you are judging people's intellect and throwing out insults based on your judgement. Do you not see the problem?
  21. Heh. Of course I'm a man hating feminist nazi.
  22. As per usual, this thread has denigrated from the original op. Why haven't the mods stepped in?
  23. A few sexist quotes at the rio olympics: "It took only a few steps from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen during the Opening Ceremony for the CBCs Peter Mansbridge to quickly recognize who was doing the walking. His question: Isnt that Mrs. Tom Brady? "When Majlinda Kelmendi became the first person from Kosovo to ever win an Olympic medal, gold in the womens 52kg judo final, a BBC commentator described the final as a catfight. "And when three-time Olympian Corey Cogdell-Unrein won a medal in trapshooting, the Chicago Tribune didnt even mention her name in a tweet about her achievementinstead proclaiming that the wife of a Chicago Bears football player won bronze." "The following morning, in interview-acrobatic feat, Ron MacLean managed to steer the conversation from Oleksiaks silver medal-winning performance to a video of her older brothers NHL draft day. MacLean then asked if Oleksiaks brother has ever told her stories about Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn. I havent heard a lot about Jamie Benn but Ive watched him play, Penny answered." "MacLean also prompted a video of Pennys brother scoring his one and only NHL goalnever mind that Penny already has two Olympic medals around her neck. And if the Oleksiak family were not in Rio, but instead back home, they could have picked up a copy of the Toronto Sun with Oleskiak on the cover with the headline: Pretty Penny. "So while Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is the two-time reigning Olympic champion in womens 100-metre, her countryman Usain Bolt has the distinction of being the two-time reigning 100-metre Olympic championnot mens 100-metre. "And yet, as Jessica Ennis Hill returns to Rio to defend her Olympic gold medal in heptathlon from London 2012, plenty of media coverage from the U.K. is focused on her recent marriage and post-pregnancy performances, not her attempt to repeat her gold-medal performance." This is just scratching the surface.
