  1. What do you suggest we do with these low income earners that pay no income tax?
  2. I rarely click on a link to YouTube except if it relates to music. Most of the YouTube videos posted here are garbage with nothing to back up whatever is being touted. However, I did vote #2.
  3. What an incredibly thoughtless post. The Paralympics are the 2nd largest sporting event in the world and your post reduces paralympic athletes to nothing more than competing for the amusement of fully abled people. Why don't you consider the inspiration and hopes they provide to both the disabled and others who are not disabled. When I see someone competing in a wheelchair or on a sled with loss of limbs I feel humbled and inspired. Obviously it doesn't turn your crank but don't take away the glory from these athletes.
  4. No. women had to put on their big panties.
  5. Uh no. As statistics show women are exceeding men in university admissions. Men need to stop blaming women for their drop in admissions and put on their man underwear just as women have had to do.
  6. Many of my Y2K colleagues were women. This is what I am trying to say. We were around then.
  7. No not really. I agree the issues facing men should be investigated. But I suspect that after all the studies are done, men simply need to mature and study more.
  8. I agree it's a problem. Time for men to man up and hit the books much as girls did when they covered for them in elementary and high school. Girls refuse to do their homework.
  9. Of course you are speaking from a boys perspective. Trust me. As a girl, they tend to go with the flow of the same gender. And the female gender were encouraged towards nursing and secretarial courses. That was it in the 70's.
  10. Why? Because of her apparent ill health?
  11. That could very well be one of many factors.
  12. Don't agree with you there regarding female immigrants working in computers. They are quite numerous in bc.
  13. That doesn't explain the drop in females taking computer courses in high school and beyond after the 80's.
  14. As I said I don't understand the decline.
  15. That would certainly depend on what type of school you attended. Many high schools directed women into nursing, secretarial etc. I fought that off by taking data processing courses and the school I attended encouraged both girls and boys to take these subjects.
  16. Well yea. Sort of. I remember girls doing homework for the boys back in the day because girls were more mature than boys of the same age. I get it.
  17. I just said it's disconcerting that more women aren't in this high paying industry as they once were. And I am curious as to why that is.
  18. Well that flies in the face of a far majority of developers are men then women.Men aren't that bad off. They just need to stop whining and study.
  19. Interesting. I learned programming on the mainframe. PCs were a ways off. Surprisingly enough. I bought a pc for my daughters when they were young and they had no interest in computers at all. But I do think it may have to do with the development platform and as the article points out, it seems to be all about the gaming. Most young male developers want to work for gaming companies especially here in bc. Myself and many of my female colleagues worked for financial institutions and insurance companies. Interesting article.
  20. I attended school in the 80's for computer analysis and programming and the ratio was probably 60/40 and upon graduation I was immediately hired and worked alongside many female programmers. I am no longer a programmer but I still work in the IT industry and most of the women I worked with have moved up to managerial positions. I no longer see the number of female programmers that once existed. I'm not sure why but it's a great disappointment to me because it's one of the higher paying positions that women should have access to.
  21. I love Bolt's and de grasse's bromance. It's a remarkable sight to watch those two flashing smiles and jokes at each other while crossing the finish line. Can't say I've seen that before.
  22. The article you linked to says they want to increase the number of international students.
  23. And which is why they are allowing immigrants/refugees. They need them.
  24. You need to go back and read your OP.
  25. Add to that. International students upon graduation are more likely to stay in Canada (if allowed) creating startups and jobs.
