  1. I'm pretty sure we aren't in trouble and we can find white mates quite easily.
  2. She also said: "I want a different life for my children, I want them to grow up strong and rooted in their culture and to be surrounded by a loving, traditional First Nations family. It’s something I now deem more important than being able to afford private school for my kids. (Although that would be nice too)." I believe (and I could be wrong in my assumptions) what she is saying is that she could marry and have children outside her "race" and live a much more affluent lifestyle, however, if she married a native man, her monetary lifestyle would be diminished.
  3. She feels it is a duty to her heritage and culture and why not. Is she harming anyone? She is doing what she believes she needs to do to preserve her heritage and culture.
  4. We only need to look at Quebec to see it happening there. Women get paid to have children there. And I am assuming the children's parents are french speaking Quebec natives.
  5. This is why she says "My search for love has been a complex terrain to tread, but I feel that I’m now on the right path to ensure that my future generations are strong in their indigenous roots and grounding — even if that means I have to take longer to find love than most." She feels so strongly about her cultural and indigenous roots, who the heck are we to deny her that cultural identity she wants to foster in her future family.
  6. How about a canadian christian university. We already have that.
  7. I see no reason why she shouldn't have the choice to have her children fathered by a native man in order to preserve her culture and distinctive ethnicity. That is her choice and if she so chooses, why can't she? Who is she insulting by her choices?
  8. Of course I don't agree with egregious behaviour by religious people. I have no problem exposing these behaviours. We have plenty of it here on the west coast. You were asking an either/or question. (Is it better to wear self imposed blinkers in order to prevent idiotic bus drivers from having an excuse to act on their prejudices, or expose medieval religious practices occurring in the 21st century in the hope of somehow helping those who suffer the most from them?)
  9. Displaying such blatant prejudice to an 11 year old boy is not the answer.
  10. There is a huge difference between white supremacists and white folks choosing a white partner. Plenty of people choose to marry someone of their own race, black people, east indians, etc. What exactly is the problem that she can't choose a male native man to father her children. I don't get the issue here.
  11. Again, I repeat: I was mostly giving kudos to the press for picking up this protest and running the story of missing and murdered women in Canada. They had an obligation to do so and they got it right.
  12. I was mostly giving kudos to the press for picking up this protest and running the story of missing and murdered women in Canada. They had an obligation to do so and they got it right.
  13. If this were to happen, then I would suspect the press would cover it. I never said this heckler's issue was more important. I was defending her right to interrupt the event to voice her opinion about missing and murdered women in Canada. You may be confusing my posts with others. Why not? That is an option available to hecklers. I agree. I don't believe she was looking for a violent tactic to disrupt this event.
  14. There probably would not be the same degree of coverage if a heckler trying to get coverage for homeless cats interrupted a fundraiser. Why would the press cover it? I would think that missing and murdered women are far more important for the press to cover than homeless cats.
  15. Justin would have addressed her concerns.
  16. Well, that is something you have to live with.
  17. Now you are comparing her to a white supremacist, when all she wants to do is make babies with a native man, and I quote "I want them to grow up strong and rooted in their culture and to be surrounded by a loving, traditional First Nations family". What is wrong with that statement?
  18. If I'm ignorant and eager to perceive a different intent then perhaps you should better communicate that statement again. I consider my reading and comprehension skills pretty good so if I misinterpreted what you were trying to convey, than many others would as well. The point I was trying to make is that statements such as you made, only add fuel to the fire of prejudice against religions. This is why I posted the link about the boy getting kicked off a bus because the driver perceived him to be a terrorist. He was 11 years old. Your statement is repeated many times over in society, not just on this forum resulting in misinterpretation and prejudice against 11 year old boys and others.
  19. Explain what? I have already communicated my opinion on this matter.
  20. Now you don't want her raising children? You have taken a giant leap into ridiculous conclusions.
