Some want it NOW, and think they can get it NOW. Bet Jack and the boys are closer to 2050 than NOW. -
Afghan mission "doomed to fail"
Canuck E Stan replied to Saturn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Catchme, If it was my mother,my sister,my daughter or any woman alive living over there being treated as the Afghanistan women are being treated by the Taliban,my attitude would be help these women in ANY way you can. If it means killing every Taliban you can, then, find them and keep killing them until every last one is gone. Pull out and leave the these women, never. You're no feminist. -
Where does he get the idea that CBC produced these bumper stickers in order to stick them on other people's vehicules? I think I should head on down to Canadian Tire, buy myself some spray paint, and spray paint those words onto his vehicule. Then I can watch innocently as he blames Canadian Tire for their "anti-Alberta bigotry". I hope your ability to spray paint, printing quality lettering is real good.

What is with your obsession with "getting it"? I found it funny that, is enough. Why I found it funny, may not be the same reason Blubbermiley found it funny. Perhaps you just need a broader sense of humour. Your sounding like a character out of Corner Gas. -

GO, BIG ASS JACK ,GO! The NDP's survival depends on this Clean Air Act. If Jack doesn't produce a good Act that greenies like he's gone, as will be the NDP. All parties are on the Green train and there is no reason to vote for Jack and the pack any longer. -

That's pretty good. Explain the humour to me, I don't get it. Explaining jokes ruins them. If you don't "get it" then you don't "get it". Now that's funny, you don't get it either. -

And I guess you can now vote for the Tories because unlike the Liberals you won't have to wait 10 years to see something get done. -

Should we allow foreigners to buy Canada?
Canuck E Stan replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
August, Canada hasn't been owned by Canadians for a long long time. Foreigners have bought up just about anything that can be be pulled from the ground in Canada for decades. Canadians don't have the capitol to own their own country. We're a big hole to draw from, first by American interests for decades, and soon it will be China. Foreign money talks,Canadians just listen. -
Important Issues to Canadians
Canuck E Stan replied to jacobhelliwell's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They will be filled in a timely manner, but it won't be by bellyaching Liberals who want a scandal to discredit the Conservatives. They'll could always use the Liberal method of appointments, and wait until the eve of an election to fill all the unfilled positions in government. That always worked for the Liberals(only time they ever did anything in short order) -
Important Issues to Canadians

There were never more than 20 spots open during a combination of previous Liberal and Conservative governments. It was the judiciary themselves that raised it as an issue. With 40 spots empty presently, 20 go back to Liberal delays and 20 to the present conservatives. Why didn't the Liberals fill their 20 when they were in power for 13 years? There would only be 20 spots to fill today. But hey, the Conservatives have been running the government for 11 months, more than enough time by Natural governing Liberals in opposition party, why in hell didn't those Conservatives fill those positions, lazy arse Conservatives. Shameful,I tell you shameful. Wouldn't be the card carrying, Liberal party donating, got a job from the Liberals, judicairy would it? -
The only thing that's pisses off people like myself, is the so called environmental urgency that the other parties and the media claim is required. I haven't seen any "Urgent" programs presented any of these parties. We all know how "urgent" the Liberals are in doing something environmental, only while in opposition is it "urgent" for them. The opposition should have accepted the Clean Air Act, and made amendments to it to go after the "Urgency" of the situation they said was needed. Right now,we're sitting in limbo without anything. Just wait until Layton's help to re-write the Conservative Clean Air plan comes about. It will be a big dissapointment to environmentalist, because it still won't go far enough. Let's hear Dion's promote his green plan, without alienating a mass of voters somewhere. The biggest % of people who want environmental change(Quebec) are also the biggest % of people that aren't willing sacrifice anything to help make the change. I think that will also apply to most pseudo greenies,"hey, I recycle.....I'm doing my part, isn't that enough?"

According to Anderson the reporter, female, urban/suburban and Quebec voters will be the "swing voters" who will decide the next election. Presently a lot of these voters are probably leaning to the "New" Dion. But as time goes on, I think the "New" Dion will evolve into the "Old" Liberal party and his popularity will wane even more. Through in a renewal of Adscam, memories will be jogged of what the Liberal party really stands for. The thought of putting this corrupt self centered government back into power will turn off many voters from voting for Dion.

Unstable climate change would be weird weather systems or rather if you will unstable weather systems. matter of semantics only. 2050 is not acceptable because something needs to be done NOW, not in 50 years. Just why would we wait 50 years tell me if we know this now? Put your semantics in relation to what was said. That's millions(like more than one) of years. Not the minisule number of years in your lifetime. We don't even have a clue what normal patterns of climate is because of the millions, if not billions of years the earth is old. So 2050 is not acceptable because you want it NOW. There are lots of things I would like NOW, but I can't get NOW. If we plan over a reasonable period of time we will get the job done, with a set goal we can get there. This date was presented by all the parties in their environmental assessment, probably because the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development came up with it. Which party will give it to you NOW and how will they do it? Don't hear anything from anybody except they don't like the date. Who's different, and can plan the changes without overly disrupting Canadian life to the extreme? But then again like you, everybody wants it NOW.

Sun, January 7, 2007 Adscam rears its ugly head As head of the Quebec chapter back then people will say Dion should have known about it. And like Martin tried to do, pleading ignorance, it may just put Dion in the same sinking ship as Martin.

but also remember the level have been up as high as 2000 ppm during the earth's history. And this green-house/ ice- house thing has occurred over and over again though billions of years. So from ice-house to green-house the levels rose as much as 2000 ppm And it's happening again after a million years of ice-house. So I pose the question again, why, with a country that produces only 2% of these gases is the year 2050 not acceptable time frame for reducing Canada's share? This was the year the Environment Committe in Ottawa came up with, the Liberals came up with, and the government came up with. Should we do something about the mess we create? Absolutely. Going into Panic mode and fear mongering the public into thinking the end is near, absolutely not. Catchme 10's of thousands of years?.......carbon dioxide levels caused wierd weather?......you said this, not the report Wierd weather maybe to you, but maybe just a normal progression of the earth for the next million years. Important Issues to Canadians
Canuck E Stan replied to jacobhelliwell's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Martin defends judicial appointments When the Liberals were in power: more than 60 per cent of federal judicial appointments in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan in the prevoius five years donated exclusively to the Liberal party in the three to five years before their appointments. Interviews with well-connected members of the legal community, including Liberals, a search of news data bases, and Elections Canada political contribution records, establish that in the 5 years proir to 2005 a majority of the 93 lawyers who were appointed to the Federal Court, the Ontario Superior Court, and the Courts of Queen's Bench of Alberta and Saskatchewan had associations with the governing Liberals. More than 70 per cent of those appointed since 2000 to the Ontario Superior Court by Cotler and his predecessors, Anne McLellan and Martin Cauchon, donated money only to the Liberal Party of Canada. Forty of 56 lawyers gave just to the Liberals... ...The situation was similar in Alberta. Seven of the 13 lawyers (54 per cent) appointed to the federal bench in 2000 or later donated solely to the Liberals. None of the lawyers appointed donated solely to the Conservatives... ...High-profile Liberals appointed to the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench included John J. Gill, co-chair of election readiness in Alberta for the Liberals in 2004; Vital Ouellette, who ran unsuccessfully for the provincial Liberals in Lac La Biche-St. Paul in 1997 and 2001; federal Liberal candidate Bryan Mahoney, who lost twice to Conservative Myron Thompson in the riding of Wild Rose; and Liberal fundraiser Marsha Colleen Erb, Calgary co-chair in 1999 of the exclusive Laurier Club, where membership is based on donations of $1,000 or more to the Liberal party. Erb was appointed by her friend, then-justice minister Anne McLellan... ...11 of the 17 judges appointed to the trial level of the Ottawa based Federal Court were found to have ties to the Liberals. And for taking so long. . . . . . . .give it time, it hasn't been 12 years yet.
