Can one reasonably claim indigenous ancestry on the basis of 1/1024th genetic link, as reportedly Sen. Elizabeth Warren has done? If so, are all of us of mainly European ancestry (and many Asians as well) not definitionally Neanderthal as it's estimated that 1.8 to 2.4 percent of our dna is Neanderthal? Has the diversity craze led us led us down a rabbit hole where advantage is gained by claiming exotic (well, minority) credibility? I'm not particularly concerned about whether Sen. Warren is or is not Indian/aboriginal/indigenous. Rather, I wonder why any of this is important at all and whether it suggests that we've attached artificial virtue to essentially meaningless ideas about ethnicity, race and diversity? In this country we permit those of Middle Eastern ethnicity to essentially self-declare racial minority status even when in many cases the "visible" minority designation doesn't objectively apply. The Americans, at least, don't permit this. Mexico, with a racially-blended population characterized by a substantial indigenous component, doesn't permit the collection of racial or ethnic data. Should we not move in the same direction before the silliness gets out of hand?

The challenge is for Trump to call the Saudis out on this matter. But he won't as the same thing with Canada, it's about the money made off selling weapons to Saudi Arabia. Can we blame this on Russia too?

If your schtick is identity politics, which is the case with Warren, then your creds are enhanced by being a member of a "marginalized" group, as opposed to being a member of the oppressor race. Mike Capuano was just about the most liberal and progressive person in congress, but not only was he of the oppressor race, he was of the oppressor gender! So progressives ran him out of office in the primary in favour of a female brown person. Joe Crowley was booted for the same reason. Progressives don't like whites. Even if they ARE white. If Warren and her ilk gain the nomination for president Trump may well get re-elected.

With Trudeau, you can bet it's closely tied to not alienating the Arab voting block when it comes to that useless rotating seat on the UN security council. He's spending OUR money to glorify his personal standing. We're all suckers for voting for him and he's made Canada into a sucker nation - kowtowing to an unelected body of socialists that creates "guilt committees" to feed a pliant Western media.

Because Trump stopped funding UNRWA(smart move)the UN have fallen behind by 200 million dollars in funding. So this dear prime mistake of ours is trying to make up for the shortfall. What a wonderful guy, eh? Take your tax dollars and help the rest of the world. I don't know about you but I am getting sick and tired of this socialist/communist bull shit funding scam of taking our Canadian tax dollars and giving it away free to the rest of the world. When the hell are Canadians ever going to get it. I don't think that they will ever get as long as they keep listening too the leftist liberal fake media like the CBC, CTV or Global. They are a part of the problem. And according to Maxine Bernier of the People's Party Trudeau has been sending billions, I repeat billions, of our Canadian tax dollars to other countries to help them fight climate change. And then we have to wonder and ask why as to why Canada is in such deep debt and in deep trouble. Boy, I sure do wish that I could get my hands into that barrel of billions.

The secret IMHO is in having universal INSURANCE and letting the client choose to have service delivered by either private or public practicioners. There already IS a "two tiered" (or more) system, so the idea of trapping Canadians who can not afford to travel out of their region or country is disgusting, to say the least. If they want care that public employees can not or will not provide, they should be able to use their insurance money and anything else they chose to use to get what they want. Many other countries have no trouble with private and public service delivery co-existing - nor should they or we. We tend to put our political ideology well ahead of the actual need to deliver sick care to our citizens or their rights to self-determination. Also: que jumpers who go outside of the public delivery system open up a slot for those behind them in line to move forward. That is a win-win.

Fair enough, but I am always leery of others who would use "state militia" as their foundation to erode gun rights in modern America. Americans have the right to own and bear arms, with reasonable limitations. This is an enumerated right.
