bush_cheney2004 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 President George Bush is getting some serious love during a post G-8 stop in Albania. No wonder Putin is pitching a fit. Independence for Kosovo, NATO membership, loans, aid, and American blue jeans....what's not to like? Predominantly Muslim, Albania has 140 troops in Afghanistan and about 120 troops in Iraq—a presence that President Alfred Moisiu says will not end as long as the Americans are engaged there. Bush met here with some of the troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8...&show_article=1 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
August1991 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 President George Bush is getting some serious love during a post G-8 stop in Albania. Am I the only person who has noted that George W. Bush is now forced to go to Albania to get cheering foreign crowds? Americans may be bad at geography but I suspect that even they will see the irony here. Albania? What next? Upper Slobodia? Quote

Americans had no difficulty finding the Balkans in 1999. Apparently, the USA prevented Albania from being divided after WWI. Shakeyhands Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 I think Bush should immediately move to Albania to enjoy his upgraded status, Lord knows not many people want him around in the US now. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche

scribblet Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 What is ironic is that this is a majority-Muslim nation, so how do the critics tie this in with Bush's supposed "neo-colonial "war against Islam. In a crowd in the 1960s, he shouted "Hey! Somebody stole my watch!"Smart politicians don't go into crowds wearing cufflinks, watches, pins, ties, jackets. Their pockets are empty. Robert Kennedy used to have someone strong gripping his belt from behind. The oil will run out eventually. So what then? And the whole publicity stunt was done with screened people in a more than safe environment for the President. Not even Americans can get that close to him without having the SS gangpile ontop of you. I dare anyone of you to go up and tossle his hair around.
