Given that you nor I know the facts yet, do you feel good insinuating that a 15 year old was such a monster? I'm doing a study of idiots for Psychology class.

Hey Baboon, let's fill this space with silly faces  instead of thinking about how disgraceful Canada has been toward the child and citizen, Omar Khadr.

I don't know what Khadr really did, but even if guilty I believe any criminal still deserves due process. Even if it means they might be able to successfully defend themselves and get off the charges. The onus is on the lawyers to prove their case.

If the glove does not fit, you must acquit.

"Deserved"? Bull Shite. You were trying to re-direct into an anti-Liberal rant instead of focusing on how much shite our country reeks of in our short-sighted treatment of the citizen, Omar Khadr.

Do you really think you convince me or anyone of anything by cursing at me?

Radsickle -

I always wondered what your maturity level was.

I don't know what Khadr really did, but even if guilty I believe any criminal still deserves due process. Even if it means they might be able to successfully defend themselves and get off the charges. The onus is on the lawyers to prove their case.

But what about situations where they turn courthouses into circuses (link)?

You don't win a war by torturing 15 year olds.

Now-a-days you often win that war by killing them - obviously you have not been to a war zone in some time. Many are even younger and not interested in anything other than killing you.

Rehab does not work when you are on the wrong side of an Ak

You truly are out of touch - must be a Canucklehead - Toronto area perhaps?

Take off that dress, put on some man pants and go find out for yourself - bet you change your mind.

If you only knew ......

Is that pseudo-cool, chauvinistic, patriarchal attitude what Canada's current military taught you or, like too many Canadians, have you just watched too many American movies?

I've never claimed you should check the target's age before returning fire. But, once the shooting was over that day, at least a good American soldier noticed Omar's age and saved his life. Even the interrogators at Bagram had sympathy for the kid...

Your right you don't win anything torturing anyone...

Omar was recieving medical aid, because he was wounded, as all enemy combatants do. Omar recieved special attention not because of his age, because it is actually quit common there, but rather his ability to speak english...thats what got him a special escort back to the rear...

NOT to show sympathy to extremist..but to show some empathy instead..Khadr was just a kid at the time of the alledged incident. The compound where he and others was blown to bits and he was supposedly the last survivor..what do you think went through his mind as the foot soldiers entered the bombed out building? Of course he thought that they were going to finish him off..The emotionalism that he killed a kindly life saving "medic" was over played and useful for propoganda purposes.. Also that our prime minister stated "Mister Khadr is charged with some very serious crimes" - This is so maniuplative to call a boy MISTER as if he was a full grown and responsible man at the time...All parties involved knew that it would not fly to attempt to convict what was a child soldier at the time....so they held him for a lengthy time waiting for him to age..so they could present a full grown bearded terrorist..The military types and corporates who have involved themselves in this boondoggle of an adventure should be ashamed at focusing some much brutality and force on what was a child at the time - cowards is not to strong a word.

I'd like to know what was going through his mind as he and his comrads killed 3 afghan soldiers that had knocked on thier front door, one of those soldiers was shot in the back running for cover....i guess that is covered in being a soldier, we all knew the risks...same as he did when he became a terrorist....

It should have been something about the size of a 5.56 mm....and this entire thing would have not even made the papers...

Like it or not the Taliban ranks are swollen with kids like omar who arm themselfs with automatic wpns , plant mines with one purpose to kill NATO soldiers....you want sympathy you'll find it between shit and syphilis. and while you guys cry for young mr Omar, kids are still fighting within the Taliban ranks and will continue to do so well after Canada withdrawals....I don't agree with everything thats happened to this kid, but i don't feel sorry for him either....

YOU do not seem to know the difference between empathy and sympathy..I have no sympathy for anyone..You want me to suffer along with a fool and thus comfort said fool? Not going to happen...to bad Khadrs old man was not alive to take the brunt...It's really stunning how office worker suit types in this nation and the nation to the south think of themselves as warriors...the corporates that bush these engagements could never hold their own in a natural primative environ..the average Taliban kid could probably kick the shit out of a suit boy...having said that - you would think that our guys might wonder a little bit why everyone in every poor country is pissed off at them? Maybe living off of other people for generations and sucking the wealth out of poor people domestically and abroad might have something to do with it?

Thats a load of crap...you can't get much poorer than Afghan and the Majority of people understand why we are there, and they're not pissed but glad...and while there are some who are pissed they have another agenda...like ruling the country with fear, and death....

Two wrongs don't make it right.

What about it, you haven't answered my last post in that thread.

I got carried away with NaomiGlover. Sorry. Here goes.

Maybe Harper should go to law school. It might make him a better leader:

Regarding Omar Khadr, the Federal Court again asks Harper government to do the right thing... within seven days.

...the Supreme Court ruling, which stopped short of ordering the government to ask that Mr. Khadr be brought back to Canada.

Well, as long as that's settled...

This is what so many people seem to overlook; that many who are "pissed" with our presence aren't exactly people we should be catering to.

The people we're catering to are little if any different than the people we're pissed at.

Eyeball is presumably stating that the medievalist theocrats whom we call "the northern Alliance," and pretend hilariously are totally distinct from the Taliban--are not substantively different from the stated enemies.

Your mockery doesn't alter the fact that this is a hard, objective truth.

Anyone who believes (and many people evidently do) that an alliance with us automatically makes someone morally superior to our official enemies is--automatically--a moral relativist, or an ignoramus. Not that the two are mutually exclusive.

As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.
