and with the whole education thing in the US...I was there on springbreak, and a group of teenagers i was talking to were pro bush. i told them there was no justification for the war in iraq, and it's FACT. they didn't believe me, or just didn't care. and i know they wouldnt look it up themselves. if thats not brainwashed, i dont know what is. i dont like to generalize, but i believe the majority of americans don't really know or have a scope on what is going on outside of their own lives.(NOT ALL)

and with the police state that you adamantly dismiss, none of us are proposing it will just happen. it will be another staged or allowed attack on the US.

what did you not get about FEMA being able to declare emergency(no definition) and control virtually everything? and btw the declaration cannot be examined for 5 years...

According to recent surveys, as well as the last midterm election, I don't think American's are buying into the war on terror bit lately. As for the excessive propaganda, it has been a massive failure if their was such a think as propaganda. Considering the fact the media has been equally critical of Bush.

A group of teenagers on spring break, why would you ask some political question's to some horny/pot smoking/ drunk teenages about politics. If I was down in Florida, I don't think I'd give a care about politics, I'd just want to get laid.

Once again from the latest midterm election, American's are fed up with the war in Iraq. If you haven't noticed, their's been quite a debate on when to pullout.

So what.....your own nation has had more Emergency Powers Acts in place for years (formerly War Measures) before FEMA. Canada actually used them during the October Crisis.

Why do you even care? Take spring break holiday in Newfoundland or Vancouver instead.

What you are doing is taking marginal wide category similarities and stretching them to fit some imagined paradigm. It's like "both Hitler and Bush went to war, therefore the US is Nazi". You have to get into a bit more detail if you want to arrive at these startling conclusions. I suspect that means you need to learn more before talking about it publicly, but you're the one who has to defend your views, not me.

How did the US force PM Chretien and Canada to invade Afghanistan? The US couldn't force Canada to invade Iraq. It is a very sorry state of affairs when Canadians look to America for leadership to get in or out of their own foreign policy objectives. General Dallaire found this out the hard way.

Canada is a founding member of NATO. Find out what that means.

You are responsible for your own own posts and direction....I can take care of my own without much help thank you very much. The largest "portion" of America's military is not in Iraq. Canada also did not send all Canadian Forces to Afghanistan either (if it was so important).

The debt owed was an obscene amount for the time, im not sure what that would have translated into, plus there was a world depression, a key factor currently missing at this time. In the most WHAT IF situation i can conjur up, i think if the you saw the American Government system fall, you would be more likely to see the country break up into smaller countries then unify into one giant war machine. Thats just my opinion though. Where ever im living though, can Canada take over?

Thats a fairly small sample size there mate. I have lived in the United States all my life. (well except when abroad for months at a time) I can assure you that at this time your fear of an American police state is a bit far off. Unless some drastic even occurs and the economy collapses I doubt you will have to worry about a flood of refugees coming north. If by new world order you mean China, then yeah they are the future superpower of the world. If you mean America is gonna descend into 3rd world poverty your off your crocker. America will go the way of Europe. Not a Super power but healthy enough to inflict some damage if it needed too. Another thing we have going for us is 2 huge oceans keeping us away from invaders. We also still have the most advanced military in the world. China for all its might could not take this country if it wanted to, not to mention it would be suicide, and why would they? How much money have they invested into this country in the last 30 years.
