Anybody willing to put their money where their mouth is?

My preference would be a model whereby each member was charged per post -- what I would call a troll-tax -- but administratively, I suspect it would be difficult. I could not find any other forum like that. Thus, poll results would be less realistic.

EDIT: This poll is in NO WAY coming from the Administration of the forum. It is just coming from lowly little me -- a fellow forum member.

I would personally not pay anything (being the tightwad that I am) and simply move elsewhere/nowhere should MLW start charging. I think it is a fantastic forum, indeed one of the best, but in my mind, the perceived 'value' of the information I may get from it is not in the same league as other pay-sites such as Stratfor, or even 'NaughtyMidgets.com' ;)

As to the 'pay-per-post' idea, I should think that the posts would become huge and unreadable, with everybody trying to cover every topic and response in one gigantic, rambling rant. Not that mine aren't now.

Personally, I am more intrigued to learn how much people value their own commentary.

There are some posters who re-post ofter their own post rather than edit a previous unanswered post. Also, there are occasions where dubious links, references and quotes are posted.

I'm the only one willing to pay?
What makes MLW interesting is the variety of opinions - if there was a subscription charge that variety of opinions would go down considerably. That said, if MLW asked for donations a la Wikipedia (link), I would probably make a contribution.

Just so everyone is clear,

We have no plans on charging anyone to participate in these forums.

Ah- ha, so the plan is to charge those that DON'T participate.......I knew these political fanatics were up to something.

Best thing to do is to particpate and not get charged. :)

Do you really think political outlook is that dependant on the amount of money you have sitting around??

Both the Liberals and CPC tend to appeal to middle class or higher voters, I don't think we'd see that much change. We might lose some NDP elements... though those silver spoon socialists will keep that area open ;).
