Yes, you say one thing, then deny it... then I call you out on it. Now you just play dumb and act like nothing happened.

As usual, you're debating the retarded argument you want to be up against, rather than the one being presented.  Now you're crying because I won't own your dumb strawman...

No, you gave a vague innuendo answer and never even mentioned Colbert at all.

There was nothing vague about drawing the connection between Trump's public statements, his FCC chair crony, the media merger requiring FCC approval, and Colbert's show being cancelled shortly before said merger was approved. 🤡

I literally quoted you. You say something, you get called out, you act like you didn't say it, deny it, deflect, lie, run away...

"drawing the connection"

ROFL, you mean, you jumped from one vague comment to the conclusion? No real argument or evidence given.

Shortly before... what? What is the exact date of the merger approval?

Do you realize it is the Democrats who are actively opposing the FCC approving the merger right now?

Once again, you are a clown.

No, you literally quoted me saying something, and then made up your own retarded strawman version to debate against.

One vague comment?  Wtf?

We're talking about political influence.  Short of a recording of Trump's phone calls with Carr, or some order in writing, we're never going to have any hard evidence.

What we do know is that Trump and his FCC chair croney (who claims the FCC isn't even independent) publicly targeted and threatened media companies in partisan terms.  Said FCC chair also specifically signalled his willingness to use the FCC's authority against networks Trump dislikes, and has done so regularly.

If we're talking about playing dumb, let's examine how ridiculous it is that you're pretending none of this matters in the context of how things played out with Colbert.  🤡👌

You:  "and his approval being required for the multi-billion media merger.  "

Also You:  "Nobody said Trump explicitly ordered the FCC to do anything."

Go jerk yourself off some more.

So... no evidence. Just your BS speculations.

Another full of shit comment. "regularly."

You can probably come up with maybe 3 examples and they will all be your contorted BS twisting of facts and drawing specious conclusions if not outright false claims.

Yes, of course... the FCC has all this power to force leftists off the air because Trump doesn't like them... and yet here we are into the 2nd year of Trump and Colbert is all they got?

There are literally hundreds of lefists across network TV, and Colbert isn't even near the top for insufferable tools and had abysmal ratings... but yeah, sure, lets go with your conspiratorial BS that somehow he was fired because Trump wanted him fired while ignoring the fact that his shit show was costing CBS something like 40 million dollars a year with their shit ratings.

DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR bUt It WaS tRuMp!!!! dURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Yep, and if you're too dumb to see the distinction, that's your problem, not mine.  🙃

There's no conspiracy here, donkey.  The things Trump and Carr said were right in the open.

Whether or not Colbert's show would have been cancelled on its own is no longer the point.  The fact is that Trump and his comically partisan FCC chair openly threatened CBS and undertook a pressure campaign to punish and intimidate them, and therefore the decision to cancel Colbert's show will always be tainted by that reality.

As the forum's eminent Trump asslicker, you're predictably defending even his most contemptible undertakings.

I think they should replace Colbert with Craig Ferguson, Ive seen some clips from his Late Late Show and he is funny as hell and he doesn't have throw baby tantrums about Trump every day to be entertaining.

Colbert will spend his time on his Yacht while Trump spends his time in ICU.

Good Trade. 😁

There is no distinction. There is only you trying to both blame Trump for being directly responsible and then balk when asked to provide any evidence he was directly involved.

Right in the open? Yet you can't provide any evidence to show that Trump demanded that Colbert be fired or that the FCC withhold the merger.

The point is that you would have us believe some conspiratorial BS you can't provide any evidence for over the most obvious explanation. CBS clearly said they were canceling the show because of this. See, watch, this is called evidence and backing up your claims, you should try it sometime:

CBS will end "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and retire "The Late Show" franchise in May 2026, the company announced Thursday, calling it "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night."

CBS called Colbert irreplaceable and said the show's ending was "not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount," CBS' parent company.

Where did Trump or the FCC openly threaten Paramount/CBS that if they did not fire Colbert there would be no merger?

As one of the forums most deranged Trump haters, you have yet to link this to Trump in any credible way.

Don't think we don't notice how you keep using the word "directly" 🙃.

You seem to think political pressure only counts if we have a notarized letter from Trump to the FCC and CBS saying, "Unless you cancel Colbert's show, the merger deal will not be approved."

If the President and the FCC chair are publicly threatening and targeting media companies, demanding cartoonishly explicit proof before recognizing the overt pressure campaign isn't skepticism.  It's sycophantic, willfull stupidty.  That's par for the course for this forum's eminent Trump asslicker.

You said Trump has to approve. So…

Did you not mean what you said?

Political pressure? Holy shit Batman, this happens in every administration all the time. This is vague BS and wasn’t your argument.

Even then, you offer no specifics. What political pressure was there to fire Colbert or no merger?

You just assert it. No real argument or evidence.

So now that Colbert has faded away like a bad smell, is Kimmel next?

As Democrat and Liberal governments fall, Republicans and Conservatives come to the rescue.
