Nefarious Banana Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 UN influence in BC politics and the deepening quagmire of suspended/stalled money/job generating industry. BC is the la-la land of the lazy, inept, and entitled welfare types. Home Sweet Home . . . as long as someone else pays for it. The LML and south VI (lower mainland - Vancouver Island) are a hotbed of deadbeat socialists and welfare types. BC is fk'd . . . Quote

Reg Volk Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 Yup. This place had so much potential too. 24 minutes ago, herbie said: Now that's off your chest, pick up your socks from under the bed, your Mom's doing the laundry today. The NDP are disgusting garbage. Quote As Democrat and Liberal governments fall, Republicans and Conservatives come to the rescue.

The BC NDP under David Eby have resisted everything that generates jobs and income in this province. You have no rebuttal, only anger towards the obvious. 1 Quote

Move to where the work is or create something that brings some work to you. Tourism is cooking with gas these days. We already have logging-sports but how about sport-logging? I bet there's all sorts of well-heeled sporties who'd love nothing more than to head out into the bush, find their trophy tree, carve a nice undercut and drop it with a good loud thud. Just mind that hinge and Bob's your uncle! Falling an old growth cedar or Douglas Fir would be like shooting a rare endangered rhino or something! You could probably make a $5000 bucks a day easy! That would be nice of you but it's not an issue, I worked in the bush for 10 years or so myself. Beach combed hundreds of logs too - turfer jacks, jack-alls, saws, chokers...yarder/tug boat...it's just...logs. I didn't like climbing and topping very much though. As for that block, strap and coil of strawline though...jump all over it. 2 hours ago, Nefarious Banana said: The hordes of herbies couldn't tell the difference between a hemlock and a ham sandwich. My boss for one. My son's company too. It's an American company and he works from home on a team that creates educational software for autistic kids. He's on the other end of that spectrum himself. One of the very lucky ones. Responds well to medication and stays on it. Once he was able to get back on his feet and stay there he started as their sound engineer editing audio files and bug testing software coding. He was just put in charge of quality control and at $40 US an hour he's making as much or more as a good faller or sea captain! The economy is working just like it should for him in that regard. I'm proud as shit given the load he's had to pack. It could have been so much worse. Work hard and show interest was probably the best advice I ever gave him. Something my first hook tender told me. eyeball Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 (edited) There's nothing quite like the feeling of towing a couple thousand dollars worth of logs up the harbour past a tug and barge hauling a couple million dollars worth out to Japan. They just fell off barges and ships like there was no end to them back in the day. Economics still seems just as retarded. Tourism's had a strong rebound from the collapse of covid but overall its growth is pretty average. And it represents a small part of the economy. Most of the rest of the economy is in the crapper But as usual you don't give a Flying Fig if people are suffering or going hungry or that the poorest are suffering or that the wealth gap is increasing as a result of all of this, you just have to defend you left wing point of view and the left wing party in charge. Let's face it, the only reason you're defending the NDP here is that we don't have any liberals anymore Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

herbie Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 Just listened to a talk show caller berate Eby for 'distracting' people with the adoption of permanent DST rather than incite panic that 'the Feds just gave the whole Lower Mainland back to the Indians' Pehaps the lamest distraction attempt ever compared to starting a war to distract from being a pedo... It is all doom and gloom. If 4/5 of your house is on fire the fact that 1/5 isn't does not change the fact that the whole thing is about to burn to the ground. Which means we have to accept the facts and take the action needed to put out the fire. At that point we can rebuild. But sticking your head in the sand and claiming that just because your mint condition comics haven't caught ablaze yet is childish. Not optimistic. An honest man puts out the fires and rebuilds his home. A liberal says he LIKES it hot and then blames the conservatives when his house is gone Quote "That which doesn't kill me...
